“Bing! Don’t do anything stupid! Bing!”

Mu Yu kicked at the door frantically. Upon seeing no reaction from within, she turned around in a hurry and kicked at the door next to it. At the same time, she screamed out for help in hopes of someone to save them.

“Yu! Are you okay?”

“Huan?” She did not expect Qin Jinhuan to dash from the stairwell. Without wasting time, she pointed at Yan Xiaobing’s house with her leg and shouted, “Quick, kick the door open to save Bing!”

While lifting her head up to stare at the smoke coming out from the seventh floor, she fearfully prayed that nothing would happen to Bing and his mother. Despite the chances being very slim, she could not help but cling onto that last bit of hope.

At that moment, more and more people gathered around. Not only were there residents from the same block that evacuated after being warned by the police, there were also bystanders from the neighboring areas that were curious about the situation.

A plump lady interrupted and said, “Miss, don’t you have any idea what he has done? He is the psychopath who broke the potholes and caused harm to others!”

Mu Yu turned and saw that it was Jiang Wenwen who defended Yang Xiaobing. She then rushed forward and whispered, “Wen, what is going on?”

Jiang Wenwen, who was extremely furious, ignored her and pointed at the residents around who were still chattering and shouted, “All of you better stop talking nonsense without any proof!”

The plump lady interrupted, “Is there such a thing? Where’s the receipt?”

“I already passed it over to the police in hopes that they could give him a lighter sentence when dealing with his case.”

The plump lady then came to a realization. “No wonder he was still poor despite our help as well as his own hard work. Turns out it’s because of this!”

Someone questioned, “Since he is so kind in helping others, why did he remove the potholes? Isn’t it contradicting to be a kind person while doing evil deeds at the same time?”

“Actually, he didn’t do those things out of his own will.” Mu Yu wiped her tears off and choked as she narrated the story of Yan Xiaobing. She told them the reason behind his actions and the torture he felt within. She also informed them about the dying speech given by Yan Xiaobing.

The crowd that defamed and threw spiteful accusations at Yan Xiaobing became quiet at once. All of them felt guilty and ashamed.

“Wen, I am sorry. I shouldn’t have spoken harshly about Bing, neither should I have reprimanded you and your family,” the plump lady apologized with tears in her eyes.

“I am sorry as well.”

“Me too.”

“Bing’s change in personality was due to us not caring enough about him!”

“If he and his mother were to escape unharmed, we must be more caring toward him.”

“Yes, yes, yes. Let’s all pray that they are safe and sound.”

Upon hearing that, Mu Yu felt dizzy and Qin Jinhuan quickly rushed forward to support her.

Someone questioned, “Since this lady said that Yan Xiaobing requested her to sell off the house and donate the proceeds, why would he still ignite the fire despite already stabbing himself?”

Mu Yu calmed herself before informing them about the stories passed down in Yan Xiaobing’s hometown. Everyone was stunned and kept quiet upon hearing it.

Just then, the firefighters, officers and medical staff came out. Lastly, there were two policemen that walked out while carrying a stretcher that was covered in a white cloth.

Everyone stared at the stretcher in a daze.

Bian Zijun said, “Both him and his mother were burned to ashes while hugging each other. There was no way of separating their bodies so we could only move them away together in one piece.”

Everyone was shocked. Soon, sighs and sobbing could be heard.

“Let’s go.” Qin Jinhuan silently hugged Mu Yu who was crying out loud.

Mu Yu cried so hard that she hiccuped. “It’s all my fault. I wasn’t persuasive enough to prevent this from happening.”

“They were determined. No matter how persuasive you could have been, there was no way of stopping them.”

Upon hearing that, Mu Yu, who had tears in her eyes, suddenly saw an image of Yan Xiaobing and his mother smiling as they faced death with peacefulness together. For a moment, she had no idea whether to continue crying or feel happy for them.

“Being able to be with the person you love is considered a blessing.” Qin Jinhuan held onto her hand tightly and stared lovingly at Mu Yu. “Being together with you is also a blessing for me.”

“Does your blessing include being together with Grandfather?”

Just then, Wen Zeyu’s voice rang from behind them. Qin Jinhuan frowned and was about to reply when his phone rang. He took out his phone and saw that the caller was his grandfather.
