“Slow down!” Qin Jinhuan grabbed Mu Yu. He wanted to push her back onto the bed, but he was afraid of hurting her. Hence, he could only stand in front of the woman instead. As it turned out, the person coming in was Xin Yihan. It was understandable that Qin Jinhuan was displeased when he saw Mu Yu looking so happy, even though Yin Xiaotian entered with Xin Yihan as well.

Yin Xiaotian, who was walking ahead, hurriedly stepped forward and stopped Mu Yu as she and Xin Yihan greeted Qin Jinhuan. “Don’t get out of bed! Be careful not to hurt your wound!”

“Don’t worry, I’m fine.” Mu Yu secretly poked Qin Jinhuan with her fingertip as he stood there and kept silent. Then, she bypassed him and said to Yin Xiaotian, “What brings you here, Xiaotian? You just had surgery, so you shouldn’t be moving about!”

“I’m recovering well. You, on the other hand…” Yin Xiaotian smiled as she let Qin Jinhuan help her to her seat. Then, she looked at Mu Yu with a look of sympathy and said, “You’ve been so badly hurt. Yihan and I wanted to visit you yesterday, but we didn’t know where you’d been hospitalized, so we didn’t come until now. How are you? Does your wound hurt a lot?”

“Kind of, but it’s okay. I’m already feeling much better,” Mu Yu replied casually as she sat Yin Xiaotian down. “Have a seat, Xiaotian. I heard that someone who has just miscarried shouldn’t stand for a long time,” she urged and turned her head, only to see that Qin Jinhuan and Xin Yihan were still standing. She then reminded Qin Jinhuan in a soft voice at once and said, “Hurry up and move a stool over for Yihan.”

Upon hearing her words, Xin Yihan, who had been staring at her the whole time, immediately turned around and picked up two stools from the corner. “It’s not necessary. I’ll do it myself.” He put a stool reverently behind Qin Jinhuan before placing the other one by the end of the bed and sat himself down.

However, his manner toward Qin Jinhuan made Mu Yu feel very uncomfortable. Hence, she reminded Qin Jinhuan in an emphatic tone, “Go and pour some drinks for Yihan and Xiaotian.”

“That won’t be necessary since we don’t need anything to drink. We’re a family, so why are you being so polite?” Yin Xiaotian gently tugged at Mu Yu before reaching out to touch the latter’s pallid face lightly. She then advised in all sincerity and said, “A woman’s health suffers the most when she miscarries, so you must take good care of your health. Don’t neglect your body just because you’re still young!”

“Don’t worry, Xiaotian. Huan is taking good care of me. In fact, he’s been looking after me in the hospital over the past few days.” Mu Yu smiled at Qin Jinhuan as she spoke. Only then did Qin Jinhuan, who had been expressionless the whole time, gave a small smile. He walked up to the table and took out two disposable cups before pouring some tea.

“Let me do it, Mr. Qin. I’ll do it myself.” Xin Yihan instantly looked ill at ease. He hurriedly stood up and was about to step forward, but Mu Yu stopped him. “Just make yourself comfortable, Yihan. You two are my brother and sister-in-law, so that makes Huan your brother-in-law. Shouldn’t one pour some tea and move a few stools over for his brother and sister-in-law when they come to visit their hospitalized sister?”

Qin Jinhuan had brought two cups of tea over when he responded, “Yeah, that’s what I should do.”

“Watch out! It’s hot!” Xin Yihan quickly stepped forward and took the cup of tea while signaling Yin Xiaotian to take the other cup. Yin Xiaotian promptly took it as she said, “Thank you, Mr. Qin.”

“There’s no need to stand on ceremony since we’re a family,” Qin Jinhuan said while looking at Mu Yu with a smile. There was a hint of obsequiousness in his eyes as Mu Yu’s remark clearly defined Xin Yihan’s identity. Naturally, it made him feel comfortable.

Meanwhile, Mu Yu couldn’t help feeling amused when she perceived the look in Qin Jinhuan’s eyes. She suppressed her laughter and looked askance at him from the corner of her eye. Then, she turned to look at Yin Xiaotian and suddenly discovered that the latter was even more ill-looking than she was. She asked suspiciously at once, “Didn’t you have a good rest at home after leaving the hospital? Why do you look so unwell?”

Upon hearing her words, Xin Yihan immediately chimed in and said, “She has already gone back to work.”

“You’re already going to work?!” Mu Yu was astounded. “It’s only been just a few days since your surgery, so how could you go to work? Don’t you know that a woman needs to recuperate for a month after suffering a miscarriage? My mom said that a miscarried woman also has to supplement her diet and get more rest while in confinement!” she said. Mu Yu promptly questioned Xin Yihan, “You’re so incapable of looking after someone, Yihan. How could you let her go to work in such a condition?”

Xin Yihan looked helpless. “I can’t dissuade her at all.”

“I’m in good health. Besides, I rested for over a week, so I’m all right,” Yin Xiaotian explained with a smile.

Mu Yu got a little angry at once. “You’ve just advised me not to neglect my health because of my youth, so how could you neglect your health instead?”

“Don’t get angry!” Reminded Qin Jinhuan as he immediately stepped forward. “You have to stay cheerful for now so that you can recover faster.” As he spoke, he glanced at Yin Xiaotian and Xin Yihan with displeasure in his eyes.

The uneasiness that had just subsided came over Xin Yihan again. However, before he could say another word, Mu Yu spoke before he did. “I’m hungry, Huan. Go and get me something to eat.”

Qin Jinhuan knew that Mu Yu wanted to send him away, but he merely pursed his lips without saying anything else. With that, he nodded and immediately walked outside.

Yin Xiaotian and Xin Yihan were both smart, so they naturally understood what Qin Jinhuan meant. They wanted to take leave, but Mu Yu grabbed Yin Xiaotian and advised in all earnestness by saying, “Xiaotian, your health is of concern to no one else but you alone. Health is the prerequisite for our happy lives, so how could you be so foolish as to be so neglectful of your health? Don’t go to work anymore. Just go home and rest—I’ll tell Huan to get leave for you later.”

“Don’t do that!” Yin Xiaotian became somewhat anxious. “I’ve taken many days off before the turn of the year, so it’ll be against the company’s management regulations to ask for leave again. Doing so will definitely bring bad implications to the company. Besides, it’ll be hard for me to make the staff obey me by then!”

“In that case, you should just quit. You can either go home and rest or work at Yong Yi Industry instead.”

However, Yin Xiaotian flatly refused Xin Yihan and said, “I don’t want to work at Yong Yi Industry. I want to have my own social circle.”

“Working at Yong Yi Industry in the capacity of the boss’s wife won’t interfere with you having your own social circle,” Mu Yu persuaded Yin Xiaotian as per Xin Yihan’s wish. “It’s awesome to be the boss’s wife. Everyone has to treat you with great respect, and you won’t have to be subjected to the whims of others.”

“Don’t persuade me anymore, you two. I’ve grown attached to Qing Tian Group after working there for so many years. Besides, I’m already used to the working environment there.”

“Are you still grieving for your baby, Xiaotian?” Mu Yu couldn’t help feeling that Yin Xiaotian’s insistence on working at Qing Tian Group was partly out of pique. “The baby is gone, and it won’t come back no matter how you torture yourself!”

“I’m not torturing myself; I just want to live a fuller life.” Yin Xiaotian dropped her gaze before raising her eyes with a smile in them. “To be honest, it’s not necessarily a bad thing to make my life more fulfilling. If you let me stay alone at home, I’ll imagine things and worsen my health instead. Hence, it would be better to go to work to stay cheerful. All right, don’t worry about me. I promise you that I’ll ask you to tell Mr. Qin to get leave for me when I really can’t take it. Are you okay with that?”

Mu Yu grew even more worried as she could tell that Yin Xiaotian was pretending to look relaxed. “But—”

Just then, Qin Jinhuan entered the ward again. Yin Xiaotian immediately interrupted Mu Yu with a smile and said, “That’s enough. I’m not a kid, so I know what to do and what not to. All right, just have a good rest. Yihan and I will visit you again some other day.” As she spoke, she stood up and looked at Xin Yihan with a smile. “Let’s go back, Yihan. We shouldn’t interfere with her rest.”

Meanwhile, Xin Yihan gave Yin Xiaotian a long stare without saying anything else. He then said goodbye to Qin Jinhuan and Mu Yu with her. After that, they quickly left the ward, and none of them spoke until they got into their car. After locking the car doors, Xin Yihan didn’t fasten his seatbelt immediately. Instead, he turned his head and stared fixedly at his woman.

Yin Xiaotian had fastened her seatbelt and was quietly looking out of the car window with seemingly glassy eyes. After a long time, she finally noticed that the car had yet to start. When she subconsciously turned her head and saw how Xin Yihan looked, she was immediately startled. She hurriedly turned to look at him and asked softly, “What’s wrong? Did the car break down?”

Xin Yihan still fixed his eyes on her until panic showed on her face. He then said, “You’re blaming me.”

“No, I’m not!” Yin Xiaotian denied at once. “It’s all your imagination.”

“Is that so?”

“Yeah.” Yin Xiaotian lowered her eyes, but she couldn’t hold back the choke in her voice. “This baby was an accident in the first place, so I shouldn’t have high hopes for him.”

Upon hearing her words, Xin Yihan let out a sigh. He grabbed her hand and comforted, “All right, don’t be sad. This is all predestined.”

Yin Xiaotian unfastened her seatbelt with one hand. Then, she suddenly threw herself into his arms and burst out crying.

Xin Yihan sighed again with a grave expression before holding her tightly in his arms. “All right, don’t cry anymore. You’re still in confinement, so you can’t be so sad and emotional. Control your emotions, or it’ll be bad for your health.”

“I know that. I want to control my emotions too, but I can’t do it.” Yin Xiaotian cried even louder, making it seem as though all her grievances could be vented through crying.

When he realized that there is no way to stop her from crying, Xin Yihan simply let her go with deep furrows in his brow. “Have you forgotten what you’ve promised me?”

Yin Xiaotian immediately sniffed and shook her head. “Nope, I still remember it.”

“Be a good girl.” Xin Yihan’s brow instantly stretched as he gently wiped her tears away. “Let’s get over the matter with the baby. What’s important is to build up your health, so don’t go to work tomorrow. Just rest at home.”

“But—”

“Actually, I was hoping that you’d come to Yong Yi Industry and help me out. After all, it’s tiring for me to manage such a big company alone.”

“If it’s that tiring, don’t make your company so large.”

Xin Yihan laughed upon hearing her words. “Other people are eager to have a large family and a large business, yet you’re asking me not to make my company large?”

Yin Xiaotian dropped her gaze and whispered, “I just want you to spend more time keeping me company.”

“You silly girl. Won’t I be able to spend more time with you if you work at Yong Yi Industry? I’ll let my secretary move a desk over so that we can work in the same office, okay?”

“I don’t mean to ask you to keep me company during office hours… Never mind, I prefer working at Qing Tian Group.”

“I won’t stop you if you want to work at Qing Tian Group, but shouldn’t you at least wait until you’re almost completely recovered? You should look at yourself in the mirror. Mu Yu instantly fell silent. She then urged, “Hurry up and answer the phone! See if he has anything to talk to you about.”

“Okay.” Qin Jinhuan secretly sighed with relief before answering the phone. At the same time, he was grateful to Rong Jian for quieting Mu Yu down. After listening to a few words from him, Qin Jinhuan handed his cell phone to her. “He has something urgent to talk to you about.”
