Warrior's Promise Novel - Chapter 1222
Chapter 1222: The Holy Son and the Divine Son
Soon, Su Mo returned to his tower and sat down grimly in a cross-legged position.
“Taishi Xuan!” Thinking about that young man in purple, the killing desire intensified within Su Mo’s heart.
However, his present cultivation was too low. He probably could not defeat him.
After some time, Su Mo sighed quietly. You must have strength in you or you would be oppressed and bullied. This was an unfailing principle of the world.
Only the strong were respected. The weak were treated like ants!
Following that, Su Mo removed all distractions from his mind. He started to ponder about the knowledge imparted by Instructor Sun in today’s lecture.
He sat–and continued sitting for three days.
Within three days, Su Mo had digested all of Instructor Sun’s knowledge from his lecture. He also made a simple plan of his future undertakings.
First and foremost, he must raise the rank of his Martial Soul. Once he attained Rank 9 Heaven Class, he would find some way to evolve it into a Fighting Soul.
Second, his Imperishable Ultimacy was obviously not suited in nurturing his Devouring Martial Soul. He must try to perceive a new Force of Ultimacy.
Another thing was to investigate the situation of the Sorcerer tribe and to locate Wu Tianyu.
This was more difficult, since the Sorcerers were not in Star Guzhou. It was almost impossible to trace Wu Tianyu’s whereabouts.
After three days of sitting, Su Mo left his tower and started to stroll around the Southern Yard.
He prepared himself to visit Instructor Mu Li.
He wanted to elevate his Martial Soul but obviously could not just practice quietly alone. He had to undergo some adventures outside.
Su Mo knew nothing about the Shenwu Academy or Star Guzhou. And he knew no one here. He could only look for Mu Li.
Mu Li was a lecturer of the Southern Yard. She lived in the Yard and after some inquiries, Su Mo finally located her residence.
Su Mo’s reputation had taken a plunge, perhaps thanks to the incident in the square. He had to inquire many people before someone would tell him Mu Li’s address.
Mu Li was living in a quiet, secluded courtyard, far away from the other Southern Yard disciples. Her residence was built on open ground.
It was not large, occupying a space of about 300 meters, but was exquisitely constructed. Its walls were built of some material which resembled emerald, gleaming hazily with a special iridescence.
“What’s the matter?”
Even before he had reached the outside of her gate, a cold voice rang out in his ears.
Su Mo started and cupped a fist in a hand in the direction of the tower. “I am here to thank Instructor Mu Li for helping me out the last time. I also need to consult you on certain matters!”
Su Mo finished his words but there was no reply from the courtyard.
Creak!
After some time, the gate to the courtyard opened. Mu Li came out, all in white.
“You don’t need to thank me. Ask me anything you like!” Mu Li’s voice was nonchalant but full of an ethereal air.
“Oh, I’d like to ask where in the Shenwu Academy can I roam and gain hands-on experience?” Su Mo asked in a deep and calm voice.
Mu Li heard him and kept quiet for a brief moment. Then, she turned over her lovely hand. A jade slip appeared in her hand.
“This is the Shenwu Records. It’s for you!” Mu Li tossed it out and the jade slip flew toward Su Mo.
A jade slip like this would be handed out to every new Shenwu disciple. Since Su Mo was not an ordinary disciple enrolled in the Academy, he had not received one.
Following that, she turned and re-entered her courtyard, shutting its gate once more.
Su Mo received the jade slip and shook his head helplessly. He realized that she would not talk more with him.
Then, he began to check the contents of the jade slip.
The slip contained a vast amount of recorded information, including a detailed introduction to the Academy, as well as places where a disciple could cultivate.
Su Mo was overjoyed. The jade slip in his hand, he returned to his home tower.
Next, Su Mo went through the Shenwu Records on the slip carefully, from beginning to end.
The Shenwu Academy was made up of about a dozen superpowers–including the Chixia Cave, the Ziwei Shrine, the Nine-Heavens Holy Ground, the Yunding Saint Gate, the Taishi Family, and the Cangyun Sacred Sect.
It only accepted the foremost human talents from the Ancientspirit Galaxy. Of course, these superpowers could make their own geniuses enroll and practice in the Academy as well.
All disciples could only stay in the Academy for 30 years. After that, they must leave the Shenwu Academy and join one of the superpowers.
If they did not, they would be seen as traitors to the Shenwu Academy. He or she would be slain jointly by these superpowers.
Anyone who betrayed the Shenwu Academy could find no place for them within the entire Ancientspirit Galaxy.
Of course, if you did not want to join any of the superpowers, there was one other way out: remain in the Academy as a lecturer.
However, the quota for lecturers was limited–only one per year.
The Academy spared no efforts in nurturing its inner mansion disciples. There were all sorts of cultivation skills and martial arts techniques for them.
Every outer mansion disciple would have a chance to master an Upper Imperial cultivation skill and an Upper Imperial martial arts technique. They could also keep an Upper Imperial Weapon.
Once they were promoted to the Martial Honored Realm, their rewards were even more plentiful. They could enroll into the inner mansion for farther cultivation, and even own a personal mountain peak.
According to the Shenwu Records, the inner mansion of the Academy was once the inside of a fallen meteorite. The place was wondrous to behold.
The disciples of the Shenwu Academy were divided into four classes. They were–from the lowest to the highest–the outer mansion disciple, the inner mansion disciple, the Holy Son, and the Divine Son.
A Holy Son was an elite of the inner mansion. It meant that the disciple could break into the Martial Saint Realm and would be extensively nurtured by the Academy.
Currently, there were only 18 Holy Sons in the entire Academy. Each was like a dragon or phoenix among humans–one out of ten thousand.
A Divine Son was even more extraordinary. He might reach the Empty God Realm in the future and become an invincible presence within the vast galaxies.
Right now, there was only one supreme Divine Son in the entire Shenwu Academy.
A Divine Son enjoyed an elevated position, surpassing those of most Academy lecturers. Only Saint lecturers in the Martial Sage Realm could surpass a Divine Son’s stature.
There were many places in the Academy that could assist cultivation, like the Starry Cultivation Room, the Ultimacy Sacred Mountain etc.
There were also many places suitable for acquiring experiences and adventuring.
“The Demonic Clouds Sea, the Nine Perishing Realm, the Thousand Slaying Mountain… ” Su Mo mumbled as he went through all the places suitable for undergoing adventures.
His adventure was different from the others’. To them, it simply meant treasure-hunting and terrain exploration.
He was simply going out to kill–both humans and demonic beasts. He would then devour their Martial or Beast Souls.
After all, he was now seeking adventures to elevate his Martial Soul rank.
Soon, he selected a suitable place–the Demonic Clouds Sea.
According to the records, there existed an evil race within the Demonic Clouds Sea, the Armor Devils.
The Armor Devils Clan was one of the many magical races of the Infinite Region. The tribe was quite weak and stayed within the confines of the Demonic Clouds Sea.
So the Demonic Clouds Sea became an ideal spot for an outer mansion disciple to roam and adventure.
However, the Demonic Clouds Sea was a very dangerous place. The Academy rules stipulated that at least three disciples must band together before they would be allowed to adventure there.
This made Su Mo quite helpless. He could not let other Academy disciples know of his ability to devour Martial or Beast Souls.
