Van Gogh Reborn! - Chapter 44
Trivia
EASEL
Vincent van Gogh, a great giant in art history.
There were a lot of controversy over how to accept his death.
Some criticized Van Gogh, a devout Christian, for choosing suicide that the Bible considers to be sinful.
On the other hand, there were people who suggested various questions and claimed that he was murdered.
Johanna van Gogh, wife of Theo Van Gogh described his death as a suicide.
Some said, the local children of Auvers shot him.
Some said Van Gogh’s doctor Dr. Gachet, refusing to treat him caused his death.
There were even claims that Van Gogh’s nemesis Paul Gauguin killed him.
Most of the hypothesis were created to satisfy people’s desire that Vincent van Gogh did not commit suicide.
Whenever a controversy arises, the war of words continued to come and go.
Those who truly understood and loved Vincent van Gogh tried to reveal why he died.
However, there was not enough information to find out the truth.
There was also no much information regarding how much his illness had progressed.
Even in the letter he left at the time, the words that he wanted to die and that he wanted to live were used interchangeably, making it difficult to find out which was his true feeling.
With a desire to understand him, the Van Gogh Institute collected and analyzed paintings, letters, and testimonies left by him for 137 years.
In the midst of all the chaos that continued regarding Van Gogh’s death for over a century came to an end with the words of 10 year old child.
Why did he shoot in the left stomach.?
Why did he took a pistol with him?
What is the reason for dying without completing the painting he was drawing.?
The more they heard the story, from the mouth of 10 year old boy, the more certain they became that Van Gogh had no choice but to make a tragic choice.
Basing on Ko Hun’s hypothesis, the Van Gogh Institute thoroughly investigated the 37 Doubigni, and little by little found evidence that were consistent with Ko Hun’s argument.
The long debate came to an end.

[The boy who saw Vincent van Gogh]
Last Sunday, a 10-year-old boy preached Vincent van Gogh’s death in front of dozens of people.
He is Ko Hun, the Artist credited for his works [Sunflower] and [Guest].
His first work [Sunflower], which made the art world turn their heads towards Ko Hun, exuded Vincent van Gogh’s nostalgia.
His second painting [Guest], was a work that depicted the emotions of the great painter, Vincent Van Gogh himself.
The boy’s love for Van Gogh was well known.
On the day he arrived at Auvers-sur-oise, he found the place where Van Gogh drew his last painting.
Three days later, several studies were made to explain Van Gogh’s death.
When asked why, none of the researchers were able to give a plausible explanation.
But a perfect answer came from Ko Hun. When asked, how he knew, Ko Hun replied, “I thought about it from his point of view.”
Meanwhile, the Van Gogh Institute is discovering evidence that supports Ko Hun’s hypothesis. Chairman Martin Janssens raised the possibility of blood stains on the easel Van Gogh used, claiming that he attempted suicide while painting.
Ko Hun’s hypothesis gained great persuasion with the discovery of human blood marks in Van Gogh’s easel at 11 a.m. today.
Ko Hun said, “Van Gogh’s life itself was tragic, Please don’t make it even more tragic.”, raising the alarm for those who questioned his death.
Without evidence, I was convinced with the words of the 10 year old boy.
And I would like everyone in today’s world to reflect on how we look at Vincent van Gogh.
Van Gogh was not a genius or a lunatic how we all think, he was just a human being who lived a desperate life.

People were shocked when it was revealed how Vincent van Gogh died.
Those who thought Vincent Van Gogh as a great painter found out that he actually lived more desperately than anyone else.
And those who thought of him as a maniac who committed suicide and a lunatic who cut off his ears came to think again about the reason that led him to take those choices.
I thought he was just a great painter, but I didn’t know something like this had happened to him.
It is very touching to hear that he was an ordinary person who struggled to get out of an unfortunate environment.
Me too, I only thought of him as a great man, but I didn’t think of him like that.
No, the most surprising thing is how can a child think like that? BTW anyone saw the video of Ko Hun explaining it? Don’t you think he really look like a cute little Penguin.💓
OMG I saw I saw…..He is just soooooo adorable. 😍
Is the little boy’s way of thinking possible with gifted education from his grandfather and great Artist Ko Sooyeol.?
Albert Einstein educated many people, but none of them became Albert Einstein. They belong to a species called Born Geniuses.
I agree. Have you seen Picasso’s drawings when he was young? It was said that he drew way better than the great painter of that time Raphael when he was 9.

Just telling what happened, the Van Gogh Institute staff went out and uncovered the truth with evidence of what had happened in a way I could never imagine.
I never thought they could find traces of blood that splashed 130 years ago.
Since then, the media has asked for interviews and I suffered a lot.
Finally after a few days, I was able to draw leisurely.
It’s too bad that it’s winter.
Auvers-sur-oise’s wheat field was different from what I remembered.
When I stayed here, it was summer.
It felt completely different from the time when I drew [Wheat field with crow], which was during the time of harvest.
Now it feels like the entire field is covered with frost.
As if children sleeping under the frosty Earth to sprout their lives.
When that frost melts down and they accept the warmth of the sun, they will soon shine like gold.
My heart flutters when I think that a new and bright life will be born from this desolate land without a single grass.
I gained hope and courage in the desolate field.
“Ho.”
I blew my breath and warmed my hands.
I have to paint as fast as I could.
The weather is cold and dry, so the paint is likely to harden or freeze quickly.
The brush will become stiff, and I won’t be able to use it if I drag on.
I have to hurry as much as possible.
I put the brush and paint tube on the hand stove grandpa gave, and once again looked at the place that served as the background of the [Wheat field with crows].
The image is already determined.
It will be the life that will sprout in that frosted wheat field.
I just convey what my heart feels into the canvas.
There is no reason to hesitate.
The title is [Frosty Wheat Field].
Light brown paint was squeezed out of the tube and applied to the large brush.
I moved my arms and whole body around the canvas.
I want to express the joy of hope and expectation that is filled in this land.
I want this land to be filled with infinite possibilities.
How benevolent this land is.
They embrace seeds without even thinking about the cold that’s freezing them.
They are like a parent holding onto a child in a snowstorm and whispering— It’s okay, everything is fine.
As if reassuring the child…….
Suddenly, a quiet and calm voice lingers in my ear in the cold winter breeze.
It was the voice of Grandpa.
The land protecting the child, reminded me of my grandpa protecting me.
The snow on the land seemed like the strong white hair of grandpa………..which he dyed.
” A useless idea.”
The paint is already starting to harden.
My hands should move fast like the violinist Niccolo Paganini.
I have to utilize the color with high saturation, to make it look warmer and more shiny.
I want to express what is waiting for this land.
Spring, warmth, sun.
Blue and black were woven together and applied to the sky.
How is the wind blowing?
From top to bottom, turn one more time and move to the left.

“Where did this kid go in this freezing cold?”
Ko Sooyeol got anxious when his grandson, who took his painting tools after lunch, did not return, even after it was already past dinner time.
“ He didn’t answer the phone. What is he doing.?”
Ko Sooyeol, who was looking for Ko Hun by dividing the road with Martin Janssens, picked up his smartphone with the intention of informing the police.
Even while making a phone call, he was bothered and looked around.
Soon he saw a child who waddled like a penguin and came in his direction.
He hung up the phone and shouted.
“Hun!”
When he ran out of joy and surprise, Ko Hun also hurried while waddling.
“Grandpa Grandpa”
Ko Sooyeol grabbed his grandson and looked at him.
The red cheeks and the tip of the nose indicated that he has been outside for a long time.
“Hey Hun. Why didn’t you answer my call? wasn’t it cold!? Aren’t you hungry? Where did you go?”
When Ko Sooyeol asked, Ko Hun put down the easel he was carrying.
“I went to the wheat field to draw.”
“What are you drawing in this dark.? You’ll catch a cold!”
Ko Sooyeol was only thinking of taking his grandson into the building as soon as he could.
“Let’s go in.”
“Wait Grandpa.”
Ko Hun smiled brightly as he showed the canvas tied to the easel.
“Look at the painting grandpa.”
Ko Sooyeol’s eyes opened wide in surprise.
‘How can the frosty wheat field look so warm in the harsh cold?’
The wind expressed with a bold brush touch flooded like a blade, and the frozen ground below it could not be so sublime.
Suddenly, Ko Sooyeol, who was mesmerized and looking at the painting, came to his senses when the painting moved and his grandson’s face peeked from the side.
Ko Hun, who peeked his face, sniffled and asked.
“ What do you think Grandpa.?”
