The Young Urban Doctor Novel - Chapter 37
Chapter 37: My Goddess Has a Boyfriend?
“Yang Qingyin?”
As he watched the pretty girl walk away, musing over her name in his mind, it finally hit Luo Ziling that her name sounded familiar. Quickly running through his memories, he realized that Cao Jianhui had mentioned her before.
Yang Qingyin was the most beautiful and well-known girl on campus—that was what Cao Jianhui had said.
She was at the top of the list of campus beauties. Not only was she beautiful, with a good figure, she was also multi-talented. She excelled in her studies and had even placed No. 1 in the college entrance examination. And to top it all off, she was born with a silver spoon in her mouth. Many boys had been interested in wooing her, but she did not like any of them.
Yet, the way Cao Jianhui had described Yang Qingyin did not seem to match the pretty girl Luo Ziling had just met. He had not mentioned that she loved to wear white, exuding a classic style, nor had he said that she liked playing the flute.
But maybe it was better that way. If Cao Jianhui had told Luo Ziling these things, he would not have experienced such an unspeakable surprise. The first meeting between him and Yang Qingyin was so amazing, it made him feel like life had suddenly become wonderful.
Slim and graceful, with her dress and long hair fluttering in the wind, she was exactly what Luo Ziling thought a goddess should look like. Unexpectedly, he had actually met a woman like that in real life. And she was even more outstanding and charming than he could ever imagine.
How he felt at that moment could not be described in words. It was as if he could not find the right words to describe Yang Qingyin’s beauty.
Although he had not seen the other campus beauties before, Luo Ziling still thought that Yang Qingyin deserved her place at the top of the ranking.
But as he watched Yang Qingyin disappear into the twilight, he couldn’t help but hate himself.
In TV series’ and movies, things would not just end there. He could have walked her back and asked about her on the way. He might have even got the chance to hold her hand.
However, in reality, they just parted ways.
Thinking of this made him somewhat dejected. He chided himself for being so old-fashioned that he did not know how to woo a girl. But the regret was only temporary. The thought of Yang Qingyin’s charming smile made everything better.
Luo Ziling stopped wandering around and slowly returned to the hostel. The unexpected meeting gave him sweet dreams that night.
As he was in a good mood, he did not feel the harshness of the second day of military training.
The second day consisted of formation training.
Every high school conducted military training as prep for the students before they enrol into university. However, the constant studying during the three years in high school had caused them to neglect physical training. As such, most of them had forgotten how formation training was conducted.
Having spent all day long with the noses buried in their textbooks to obtain higher marks for the entrance exams, their physical health was not up to par. They could now finally relax a little after entering a university, only to realize that their physical endurance did not match their age.
Most of them shared the same sentiments. Many of the bookworms in the formation found it tough to follow the commands of boring turns, standing at attention, and standing at ease, and thus grumbled endlessly.
The instructors were strict and their means of punishment were excessive.
A student in the class next door was made to run ten laps around the sports field, as punishment for talking back to the instructor. Luo Ziling’s instructor was considered benevolent, as his punishments were not that terrible. Of course, this also directly correlated to how well they performed.
At least no one from their class talked back to the instructor. But most of them were still full of complaints and hoped that military training would end soon. Only Luo Ziling had no complaints, as this type of low-intensity training was nothing to him.
His good mood gave him boundless energy and all his movements were accurate, causing the strict instructor to publicly praise him. Luo Ziling had thus made all the guys jealous and also became popular among the girls.
Even girls from the class next door noticed him.
The day of training finally came to an end. Those students who thought that time was passing too slowly cheered when the instructor finally announced the end of the training.
“Damn it, campus military training is so tough. There’s no chance to slack off. All my fat should be burned off by the time training ends,” said Cao Jianhui.
Feeling too lazy to move, he immediately jumped into bed as soon as the group of four returned to their hostel. Li Fuming and Wu Longjiang did the same too. They crawled onto their beds while complaining and cursing the instructor for being so strict.
Cao Jianhui had run around merrily after the previous day’s military training. The other two guys also had also gone out energetically. However, they were now as tired as dead dogs after today’s training.
Luo Ziling couldn’t help laughing at them. “Now you see the difference between us. You should learn from me!”
Cao Jianhui and the other guys ignored Luo Ziling’s teasing as they had no energy left to speak.
“You’re not just burning fat, you’re losing weight too. Who knows? After losing weight during military training, you might transform into a handsome guy.” Luo Ziling patted Cao Jianhui’s shoulder and smiled. “Maybe you’ll be surprised.”
“You’re right.” Cao Jianhui got up but soon lay back down. “I should rest and take a nap. We can have dinner when I wake up. I’m exhausted!”
The two guys on the upper bunk only grunted in agreement.
Soonly, snoring sounds filled the room. It was hard to believe that Cao Jianhui fell asleep instantly.
As he was not tired at all, Luo Ziling didn’t rest. Instead, he took a shower and dressed to the nines before heading to the cafeteria for dinner. Seeing that they were all still asleep, he chose not to wake the other three guys up.
Luo Ziling looked really smart in his attire, which attracted the attention of all the girls. While he had his meal, some of the braver ones approached him, while others even secretly took photos of him with their phones.
The shy Luo Ziling dared not stay there any longer. Scarfing down his food as quickly as possible, he escaped from the cafeteria.
The three guys were still asleep when he returned to their dorm, so he decided not to wake them up. Taking out the long dizi he brought with him, he tidied himself up before leaving the room.
He went out at the same time as the previous day. The sunset scenery at Wuming Lake was as beautiful as ever.
However, Luo Ziling was not in the mood to enjoy the stunning sight. He strode towards the center lake island with purpose, quickly arriving at the summer house where he had previously met Yang Qingyin.
Even from far away, he could see that there was a person there, wearing a white dress that fluttered in the wind. The mere sight of her got him all excited.
However, when he walked closer, his heart immediately sank and his happy mood disappeared in a flash.
The girl in white standing at the summer house was not alone. There was a tall boy by her side. They were standing close to each other and seemed to be chatting. It looked like they were having an intimate moment.
Luo Ziling instantly stopped in his tracks, not knowing whether or not to walk over.
Yang Qingyin actually had a boyfriend?
