The Tempestuous Consort - Wilfully Pampered by the Beastly Highness - Chapter 327
Chapter 327: An Eerie Flower
Azurite started walking west. “Come with me. I can find Master.” She was one with her Master, so she could locate her.
“Really?” Luo Yunzhu followed. But she was still worried and felt that it would be better if they went separate ways.
“Azurite, I think we should split up and go separate ways.” It wasn’t that Zhang Tiancheng didn’t believe Azurite, he just honestly thought that it would be more advantageous if they broke up the search party.
Lin Suyin followed behind the group without saying anything. She was a woman, too, and even though Feng Tianlan had a massive scar on her face, her intuition told her that Feng Tianlan posed a threat to her. She started to face the dilemma in her heart. Should she listen to Master’s command and try to earn Feng Tianlan’s trust however she could. Or, should she be selfish and just let Feng Tianlan die?
She was leaning toward the latter. The Wargod seemed to treat Feng Tianlan differently, and Lin Suyin felt that Feng Tianlan was a threat.
Azurite started running faster. “Listen to me, Master is not in any life-threatening danger yet. We’re going to make it.”
If Azurite’s master’s life were in danger, she would feel weaker. She was very clear about this.
“Then, we’d better hurry.” Luo Yunzhu replied. Her voice was trembling. Azurite had appeared out of nowhere, but Tianlan trusted her deeply, so her words were credible.
Besides, if anything happened to Tianlan, Luo Yunzhu didn’t want to live anymore either. Everyone trusted Azurite in the end and followed her. But the vines disappeared almost instantly and moved too quickly for them to catch up.
Feng Tianlan, who was still trapped in the vines’ cocoon, could feel the cold wind rushing past her ears. The wind blowing in through the gaps was painful on her face. The vines were moving really quickly.
She had used her Wood Element to try to locate the main vine but had to defend herself at the same time. She hadn’t been able to use her full strength and locate it. Later, when she saw that the vines were going after her alone without the intention of killing her, she’d decided to just grab them with her hands and let them carry her to the main vine instead.
That way, Yunzhu and the rest would no longer be in danger, and she could find the vines’ source and finish it. This plan killed two birds with one stone.
After some time, the sound of the wind in Feng Tianlan’s ears slowed down, then light finally appeared. The other vines in the cocoon slowly moved together, then outward, like bodyguards protecting a little space. The vine wrapped around Feng Tianlan gently placed her on the ground. It handled her like it was afraid of injuring her.
Feng Tianlan looked around and noticed a really creepy sight. There wasn’t a single tree within a radius of 150 feet. There was only grass and some dead tree leaves. But there were plenty of large, tall trees beyond this radius.
The even stranger thing was, in the middle of this 150-foot radius was an exceptionally beautiful red flower. It had five simple petals, red as blood. The red was so red that it was practically translucent. It had a strange air about it that seemed to capture souls.
Still. why was this the only flower within the 150-foot radius?
A cold wind blew, and the red flower’s petals blooming in the wind began to stir. This made it look even more enchanting and eerie. One felt compelled to pluck it, even if doing so killed you.
Feng Tianlan stared straight at this flower as green Spiritual force flowed out from her palms. The vine that had bound her earlier suddenly seemed to sense danger. It wrapped itself tightly around her palm, bruising her fair and slim hands.
Seeing that Feng Tianlan had not succumbed to its temptation, the eerie flower could no longer restrain itself. A gust of cold wind blew as the carnivorous flower suddenly flew up and pounced on her, preparing to swallow her whole.
When the eerie flower made its move, Feng Tianlan quickly switched to the Fire Element. The red flames that came out of her palms caused the vine to immediately move aside. She took the chance to swing her fiery fists and rush at the spooky flower.
