The Sacred Ruins Novel - Chapter 492
Chapter 492: Attending the Meeting
Translator: Alsey Editor: Chrissy
Where was Chu Feng? He was supposed to have set off out to sea, but he had received an interstellar message on his photon computer, and so had decisively returned onto land.
A buyer had contacted him and informed him that he had already finished preparing the unique secret tome—the World’s End Near at Hand and that he was ready to complete the contract. On receiving news of this, Chu Feng rushed his way to Mount Longhu.
He didn’t feel safe anywhere else. Only here would outsiders not dare to enter, and so he didn’t have to worry about being disturbed.
Over the last few days, Bai Ling’s parents were dreadfully anxious. They couldn’t sit or rest at ease; they were truly afraid Bai Ling would face misfortunes in the hands of Chu Feng, as this fellow was truly formidable.
Over the last two days, they had been constantly paying close attention and saw the golden mammoth sitting in a wheelchair. It was crying tears of blood as it complained that Chu Feng had plundered three of its legs. They also watched as the Kun goat cried until it fainted; Chu Feng had “stolen” its kidneys. Lastly, the Black Tiger saint child was kidnapped like in a horror movie.
They were very worried that the weak Chu Feng would even eat Bai Ling.
Of course, they had another secret concern. Their daughter was extraordinarily beautiful and had stunning looks. Her silver hair reached her waist and she had skin as fair as snow. If by any chance Chu Feng acted distastefully, it would become a “disaster movie”.
Back in Mount Longhu, Chu Feng and a buyer were chatting in front of a star passage.
“Big brother, are you questioning my character? Don’t worry, the goods are genuine at fair prices. You don’t need to inspect them at all. ”
“That won’t do. Where is the saintess, Bai Ling? I want to take a look at her,” said the buyer.
Chu Feng pulled Bai Ling out from within the spatial bottle. He was not tender at all and was about to tie her up using a metal chain. He said, “Look, her face is free from scars, her bones are all intact and her body is straight. I sell things with quality assured! Yes, I will sturdily tie her up for you so that it’s guaranteed she can’t escape in transit.”
Far away depths of the universe, Bai Ling’s parents watched as there he tied Bai Ling up like he was tying a pig, into a big rice dumpling. Immediately, they were incomparably heartbroken and longed to kill Chu Feng with a slap.
Simultaneously, they also regretted saying so much!
“Deliver the goods without delay. Let the Express Company open up a wormhole and send that secret tome over.”
“You dispatch and send her over first!” said Bai Ling’s mother.
“Are you kidding? Sending living creatures is the most time-consuming. In general, it takes more than a year and a half to send a living person to the depths of the universe. How long would I have to wait for you to receive her? Send the secret tome first. It’s an inanimate object so it would arrive on the same day.”
Chu Feng had put in quite a lot of effort to find this out.
Following this, he added and said, “Oh, could it be that you wanted dead objects? You want a dismembered saintess? You should’ve said so earlier! I’ll chop her up for you, wait a moment!”
At once Bai Ling’s father was green in the face, and shouted, “Stop! I want her alive undamaged and intact!”
“Then pay up. What else are you concerned about? This is a transaction conducted on the Origin Beast Platform, and so is safeguarded by the platform. Even if I violate the agreement and don’t send her out they will still compensate you.”
Bai Ling’s parent’s hearts leapt, and they said, “We don’t want compensation, we just want the saintess.”
Chu Feng reported the coordinates of his location— Mount Longhu on Earth.
As a result, a wormhole emerged at the end of the star passage not long after. It was very small, and a little box appeared before his eyes. It had traveled across from the other side of the starry skies.
“That was sure impressive. Not only did it arrive on the same day, it also arrived instantly.”
Chu Feng was ecstatic. The box was made of metal and it was abnormally strong. Once opened, there was a yellow, tattered book. It looked like it was quite old.
“Is this real?” Chu Feng was dubious.
Bai Ling’s parents were furious. They had paid an extremely heavy price for the secret tome, only to be suspected like this.
Chu Feng laughed and said, “Don’t get angry, I was only just asking casually. What’s more, you’re not losing anything either. Once you’ve read this volume of the World’s End Near at Hand, it could totally become your race’s secret sect-guarding tome. ”
“What do you know? The price we have paid is even higher. Otherwise, who will trade it? Additionally, we were forced to make an oath, This secret book mustn’t be made publicized on pain of being silenced.”
“It’s that serious?” Chu Feng was astonished.
“Naturally, who would dare question the words of a saint and their prestige?”
“Saints can’t be questioned? I often have nothing to do but scold Jun Tuo!” said Chu Feng.
Instantly Bai Ling’s parents were speechless. Chu Feng was still alive and active despite nonchalantly calling Jun Tuo names like Old Tortoise, Old Cuckold. There is simply… no justice in the world.
“Torment him at your pleasure!” The two of them said at last with indignation.
“Mn, let me take a look at it first.” Chu Feng flipped open the tattered yellow papers. On them, there were pictures and texts, but he couldn’t recognize any of the words!
“I don’t recognize the words written on it,” Chu Feng said truthfully.
Bai Ling’s parents almost spat out blood. Surely they didn’t need to teach him the characters. In the end, they braced themselves and said, “The photon computer can help you discern the characters. Those are characters commonly used throughout the universe.”
“Ok, not bad!” Following this Chu Feng began to comprehend the writings. He was incredibly engrossed in it and was completed wrapped in it.
Bai Ling’s parents became desperate. They really didn’t want to tarry any longer, and urged him to “dispatch the goods”.
“Youngsters are so impatient and short of calm. Why so urgent?” replied Chu Feng. Then, he casually contacted the Wormhole Express Company on his photon computer.
“I need express delivery; I have some post to send out. I am in Mount Longhu on Earth. Come and collect it at once.”
“We are a wormhole company, responsible of opening up and linking spaces through the universe. We don’t provide picking-up services,” responded the voice of an artificial intelligence robot.
“Is this not an express delivery company? How can it not have such services?!” Chu Feng questioned.
Bai Ling’s parents were on the brink of a breakdown. Hurriedly they advised and said, “Don’t ask so many questions. Hurry up and put down your order on the photon computer. In a moment they will open up a passage according to your coordinates, and this passage can send lifeforms over long-distances. If you choose the most expensive one, we’ll be able to receive Bai Ling in half a month at the soonest. This way we don’t have to wait for more than half a year.”
“Why should I choose the most expensive option? Let me take a look first!” said Chu Feng. After that, he fiddled with the webpage.
He drew in a breath of cold air. It was frighteningly expensive to post things through the universe. Its cost was equivalent to many many baskets of mutant fruits.
“Dammit, it’s so expensive!” Chu Feng doubtlessly chose the cheapest option.
Soon afterwards, he found that one could “pay upon delivery”, which meant the recipient paid for the delivery instead. As a result, he went back and selected the “incomparably correct” choice.
Then he firmly put down the order!
When he saw a wormhole appear on the starry passage, Chu Feng immediately threw Bai Ling into it. It made the saintess confused and disorientated, and her eyes rolled back.
“Slower!” Bai Ling’s mother was distressed.
After that, the wormhole disappeared.
Watching him complete the process so quickly, Bai Ling’s father was restless. Soon afterwards, he received a message on his photon computer and learnt of the details of the bills.
Dammit, the cheapest wormhole! Furthermore, it was to be paid on delivery!
“Youngster, how dare you make such a choice. You’re… absolutely pissing me off!” Bai Ling’s father was flustered and exasperated.
Comfortingly, Chu Feng said, “Why are you so desperate? I helped you pick out the cheapest one so you don’t have to spend much. You should thank me.”
“Damn you! I don’t need you to help me save money. I wanted the most expensive one. It’s not a problem even if I have to pay myself!”
Chu Feng curled his lip and said, “How lowly! Good intentions really don’t give good rewards.”
Chu Feng turned and gave him the back of his head. He ignored him and went to study the World’s End Near at Hand.
“You’re the lowly one. A bastard spoiled from head to toe. Don’t you dare set foot into the starry skies, or else I will most certainly employ an army to hunt you down every day? How dare you kidnap my daughter Bai Ling!”
Since Bai Ling had already entered the wormhole, her father was reckless and vented out the anger he felt inside.
“Oh my, turns out it’s Old Bai! If I had known it was you, I would’ve raised the price even higher!”
Chu Feng’s words made Bai Ling’s father even more infuriated. He firmly ended the call.
Next, Chu Feng dispatched the goods to Yuan Kun, as he had already paid earlier. However, the diamond ape saint child was sold him off cheaply and so he hadn’t exchanged him for any rare secret tomes.
Afterwards, Chu Feng left Mount Longhu for the Eastern Sea. He studied the World’s End Near at Hand while walking, as the yellow tattered volume consisted of only nine pages. It was a thin scroll.
He quickly memorized everything. It was branded in his mind and he fathomed many marvelous ideas out of it.
In the sea, he vanished on the spot with a whoosh and appeared on the surface of other side of the ocean.
Chu Feng had mastered the skill very quickly as if he had gained the most precious treasure. It suited him extremely well and he could already demonstrate the most basic principles.
Then, Chu Feng began to experiment while he walked and crossed a vast body of water. In the end, he came across several divine sons and saintesses on their way to a meeting and tailed behind them. In doing so he arrived on an exceptionally beautiful island.
In the peach forest, the old millennium peach tree shone with mist spraying out from its pink petals. The sparkling, translucent fallen petals were scattered and flew around like a rain of light, bringing about a sweet-smelling fragrance.
“Heavens, that Chu Feng is demented! He really sold off the saintess Bai Ling and the saint child Yuan Kun. The latest message on the Origin Beast Platform showed that the transactions had already been successfully completed. ”
This caused quite a stir within the peach forest!
Among those in the forest, some raised their fists and cried out. They suggested that they should join together to deal with Chu Feng by going to the town and killing him.
“He’s absolutely unrestrained! He’s really selling saint children and auctioning saintesses. How infuriating! Everyone, we must punish him together!”
Amidst those, the most involved person was, unexpectedly, Zi Luan. An arrogant girl, she was originally abducted by Chu Feng, then auctioned. Moreover, someone had already put down an order for her.
Were it not for the heavenly lightning striking Chu Feng at the crucial moment, she would’ve already been handed over by now.
In addition, Li Feng and Zhan He were also wrought with complicated emotions. They too were calling out to the others there to join together and hunt Chu Feng.
Everyone looked at Zi Luan. They couldn’t help but think back to her demeanor then when she was petrified. She had shown a different side to her when she sang “I’m a little bird”
In reality, the group’s composition was complicated. There were some who stood against Chu Feng, while their enemies didn’t hesitate to choose to support Chu Feng.
“Little girl, you should know your place a bit more. If by any chance you end up in the Demon King Chu’s hands again, what would you do? You weren’t just singing Little Little Bird, you were sold as well!” Someone teased.
The saintess Zi Luan was humiliated and fuming. She said, “I was just a bit nervous then, so I appeared weak and feeble. I’ll definitely wipe him out if he tries again!”
It was at this moment that there was quietness at the scene because many people were surprised to find that that familiar face had really appeared. He was just outside the peach forest and coming in slowly.
“Saintess Zi Luan, the Demon King Chu is coming!” Someone muttered.
“Girl, your biggest enemy is here!” warned someone else.
“Are you trying to scare me? Humph, do I look like a coward?” Zi Luan didn’t give a care. She was relatively calm and didn’t even turn her head.
“Zi Luan, he really is here!” Someone informed her in a low voice.
Zi Luan arrogantly raised her small snow-white chin and sneered. She simply didn’t believe it, and said, “Would he dare to come in a situation like this? Humph, perhaps he wants to pay his respects to me by coming here?”
After that, Chu Feng used the World’s End Near at Hand. He arrived at the middle of the forest from outside the forest in just one step. He didn’t show any signs of murderous intent. Moreover, he was smiling kindly to everyone and nodded his head in greeting.
Because of this, they didn’t attack. He was already here, so there was no need to hurry in taking him down.
Then, Chu Feng moved noiselessly to behind Zi Luan and gently patted her shoulder.
Zi Luan turned her head just enough to catch his face, radiant and smiling at her with snow-white teeth sparkling and translucent.
