The Martial Emperor with Dragon Blood - Chapter 83
Chapter 83: I’ll Never Leave You
Just as Ye Mo finished refining the True Energy Pill, Xiao Yuanshan came rushing in, saying, “Hey, Ye Mo. Xiao Yue has already woken and says she wants to see you.”
“Yueyue? Alright. I’ll head over to her room right away,” Ye Mo said as he handed Xiao Yuanshan the pill. “This is the True Energy Pill. It had already been refined.”
“Wait, what? True Energy Pill? You really succeeded?” Xiao Yuanshen couldn’t hold in his excitement. Shaking, he took the pill from Ye Mo. He could immediately feel the power coming from it in both its markings and its aroma.
“Well done, young lad. With your help, the Xiao Clan will definitely prosper! I’ll go and attempt the breakthrough right away!” Xiao Yuanshan was in his 40’s and had been stuck in the Energy Shaping Ninth Realm for quite a long time. With the True Energy Pill, he would be able to overcome his own limit and reach the True Energy Realm with ease.
Xiao Yuanshan was committed to his goal of breaking through to the True Energy Realm. He ordered his whole clan not to disturb him while he was training. He also intentionally left the True Energy Pill part out.
Ye Mo went and met with Xiao Yue, but Xiao Yue behaved coldly towards him. It felt as if they were meeting for the first time, even though Ye Mo had been treating Xiao Yue like his woman ever since she had kissed him.
Ye Qin had told Ye Mo that, if a girl took the initiative to kiss him, it meant the girl really liked him.
The night was dark. Ye Mo sat on his bed. He recalled the coldness that Xiao Yue had shown him and felt that something was off. Xiao Yue had told him a lot of weird things.
“I can’t stand it anymore! I have to go and ask her what’s going on! I think something big is about to happen,” Ye Mo said, jumping out of the window. He stood outside Xiao Yue’s room. The candle was still lit, so Ye Mo knocked on her door.
“Who is it?” Xiao Yue asked.
“It’s me, Ye Mo.”
“What do you want?” Xiao Yue asked in an icy voice.
“Aren’t you being a little cold toward me? You seem different…” Ye Mo said.
“How do you want me to treat you, then?”
Ye Mo stood outside of her room, not knowing what to say. After a few seconds, he finally opened his mouth and said, “Have a good night, Yueyue.”
Tears filled Xiao Yue’s eyes as she heard his footsteps moving away. “You big idiot!”
Suddenly, the tattoo on her face began to move again, and Xiao Yue’s expression changed. Her body began to shake as the curse spread through her body.
“Oh, no! I can’t control the curse anymore!”
Xiao Yue rushed out of her room. She wanted to leave the Xiao mansion and Limestone City. She wanted to find an empty land as far away as possible, so that then, at least, she could die knowing that no one else had to go down with her.
Xiao Yue took out a charm and summoned the Lion Statue. She jumped onto it and flew towards the outskirts of Limestone City.
“Ye Mo, isn’t that Xiao Yue?” Ling’er shouted. “It looks like her curse is going berserk again!”
Ye Mo quickly looked toward the sky and sensed where Xiao Yue had gone. He used all 37 of his Dragon Energies to rush after her.
“I thought we had it under control!”
“The Phoenix Curse has its own will. The harder we try to suppress it, the harder it will fight back. I think Xiao Yue is trying to leave Limestone City and get as far away as possible so she can release the curse somewhere where no one will get hurt.”
Xiao Yue would definitely die if she released the curse.
“Yueyue, is this why you’ve been treating me coldly? I’m not letting you die!” Ye Mo’s face tightened as he increased his speed with Windward Dash, which far surpassed the Lion Statue’s speed. After a few seconds, he stopped running.
He kicked off the ground and jumped towards the lion. He grabbed and pulled on it as it began to fall. Xiao Yue noticed it shifting; she looked down and saw Ye Mo beneath the lion.
“Leave me alone! I hate you!” Xiao Yue screamed.
“Come down!”
He increased his strength, and the lion lost its balance. Xiao Yue fell off of it, but was caught by Ye Mo.
The curse was already rampaging through her body. Ye Mo noticed that the green tattoo had expanded to her forehead, nose, eyes, and even her hands.
The night was lit by a full moon. Ye Mo landed on top of a mountain with Xiao Yue in his arms.
“Please, don’t look at me,” Xiao Yue begged, attempting to get away from him. Yet, no matter how hard she tried, Ye Mo wouldn’t let her go.
“The curse is about to explode. I’m not going to leave you here alone!” Ye Mo embraced Xiao Yue. “I’ll stay by your side, even if it means that I’m going to die, too!”
“Why are you so stupid? If you don’t leave me, you’ll really die!” Xiao Yue cried.
“I promised your father that I’d marry you once my name was known to all in Tianwu Kingdom! You cannot die before that!” Ye Mo said as he slid his hand towards Xiao Yue’s stomach. He was about to use the Rising Dragon Pillar.
“Wait, you idiot! If you use the Rising Dragon Pillar, you both will definitely die!” Ling’er shouted, noticing Ye Mo’s intention.
“Did you really promise my father that? You don’t hate how I look?” Xiao Yue stared at Ye Mo with her blue eyes.
Ye Mo did not say anything, but replied with a deep kiss. It meant that he would always stay by her side. Both of them lost themselves in the romantic gesture.
Suddenly, a gust of wind howled as an immensely strong energy appeared on the scene.
“I never thought that I would meet the Phoenix Curse here!” a woman wearing green garments said. She was floating in the sky, and her eyes were locked on Xiao Yue and Ye Mo.
The woman soared with the wind. Her beauty was indescribable. As she floated through the fog-covered sky, it looked like a goddess was descending from heaven.
