He Hua was also one of the most gorgeous ladies in all of Qingshan Village.
Even though she was already in her early thirties, her skin was still soft and she had a pure-looking face. It was as if she was a beautiful lady in her mid-twenties.
Unlike Mrs. Niu and other women, He Hua had studied in her early years and had graduated high school. That was why she was much more knowledgeable than everyone else.
As Yang Guang rode the electric scooter, he could feel He Hua’s body behind him. Even if their bodies did not touch, it was as if he could feel her body heat. The young man gulped before asking, “U… Hua, I don’t think I’ve seen Zhonghua recently.”
The person that Yang Guang was referring to was He Hua’s husband, Fu Zhonghua.
Since Fu Zhonghua did not work at the coal mine, he did not pass away at the mine accident. He was one of the few men left in the village.
“Don’t bring him up. He’s only been back a couple of times since the New Year. He would only stay for a night every time and leave the next day!” He Hua grumbled.
“I see. Maybe he’s busy with his business. He’s a man after all. It’s his job to earn more money.” Yang Guang smiled.
“Nah! I can tell that he already has a lover, or else he would never stay in town for so long! He’s never even called me once!”
As He Hua continued to complain about her husband, Yang Guang could only keep his mouth shut as he had no idea how to comfort her.
The path to Hongqi Town from Qingshan Village was a cement road that was paved years ago.
As the road lacked maintenance, there were a lot of potholes all the way to town. The journey wasn’t as smooth as it used to be.
That was why when the scooter hit a pothole, He Hua decided to wrap her arms around Yang Guang’s waist to stabilize herself.
Since it was the young man’s first time experiencing that, he almost lost control of the scooter and drove into a drain.
With He Hua hugging him tightly, he could feel her chest rubbing against his back.
When the scooter rocked, he could feel her chest moving up and down.
Yang Guang had no idea if He Hua was doing it on purpose and wondered if she was just holding him tight so that she wouldn’t fall.
There was no way he would say no to that when He Hua didn’t mind it.
He grinned and continued to enjoy the amazing feeling on his back as he drove slowly toward town.
Even though the road was long, they managed to reach Hongqi Town before two in the afternoon.
Hongqi Town was a tiny town, but it was located in the center of all the villages within a six-mile radius. There was a governmental building, a primary school, and even a supermarket in the town.
Along the main road were shops of different nature, selling products ranging from rice to pet food. There were even a few big restaurants and mini markets, making the street a busy one.
Yang Guang stopped the electric scooter in front of Chen Jianguo’s medicinal herb shop. He waited for He Hua to get off the scooter before parking it.
Seeing how red He Hua’s face was, Yang Guang asked, “The sun sure is hot today, huh?”
“Right?” He Hua smiled. “This damn summer! Why is it so hot?”
Yang Guang laughed and took his basket back from He Hua before heading into the shop.
The shop was empty except for Chen Jianguo sitting by the counter. When he heard the door open, he raised his head. “Oh? Guang! What brings you here again?”
“Money brings me here!” Yang Guang smiled and placed his basket on the counter. “Mr. Chen, not many people know about these things, but I’m sure you do, right?”
“Let me have a look.” When Chen Jianguo looked into the basket, his eyes widened immediately. “T-this is…”
“You guessed it. It’s a good thing you recognize them!” Yang Guang grinned. “I don’t have time to dry them but can you estimate their total value for me?”
“Where did you get these Tianma?” Chen Jianguo asked as he looked at the young man in surprise.
“From the mountain. These are wild Tianma. There’s no way I can plant these yet,” Yang Guang answered.
“Weird. Since when did our mountain have something like this? I’ve never heard about this before!” Chen Jianguo mumbled and looked up. “I don’t know the price for fresh Tianma. But, don’t worry! Someone will be here soon and she’ll give you a reasonable price!”
“Who’s coming?” Yang Guang asked.
“The owner of a huge company! She’s here to purchase the bracket fungus you brought in,” Chen Jianguo answered.
“Really? Someone is willing to buy that for $6,000?” Yang Guang gasped.
“Boy, you sure are lucky.” Chen Jianguo nodded with a huge grin. “You brought me the fungus yesterday and you already have a buyer.”
“That’s great! I can sell her the Tianma as well, right?”
He Hua walked into the shop and interrupted the conversation. After greeting her cousin, she was about to head into the back of the shop to look for cousin-in-law when she said to Yang Guang, “Guang, don’t leave right away once you’re done. Let’s head back together.”
“Sure thing!” Yang Guang nodded as that was what he had wished for.
Chen Jianguo had no idea what happened between them. Thus, he paid no attention to them and focused on the contents of the basket instead. “You sure are lucky. I guess you already have enough money from the things you gathered yesterday and today?”
“Almost. It’s only the second day. I still have three days left.”
“Right. You are probably the only person who can do this. It would be almost impossible for others even if they tried their best!” Chen Jianguo laughed.
“I have no choice. There’s no way I can send my sister-in-law to hell, right? She’s still family.”
Chen Jianguo looked at the young man and nodded. “You sure have grown up. It feels just like yesterday that you were still a little boy!”
“Haha! Stop with your jokes, Mr. Chen!”
They continued to talk for half an hour until a black SUV stopped in front of the store. A lady dressed in casual clothes came out from the car.
From the moment she got out of the car to when she walked into the store, Yang Guang could not look away.
The lady’s hair was long and her lips were a healthy shade of pink. Her eyes and brows were like an art piece. She was as gorgeous as the celebrities that Yang Guang had seen on TV.
The only thing that felt odd was the coldness in her big eyes. It was as if she could freeze anyone with her gaze.
The lady ignored Yang Guang and approached Chen Jianguo. “Chen, where’s the thing?”
“It’s here. Why don’t you have a seat inside, Ms. Mu?” Chen Jianguo asked.
Mu Xiaowan frowned and shook her head. “No, thanks. Let’s just do our business here. I’m on a tight schedule.”
Judging from her reaction, Yang Guang could tell that she was a little annoyed.
Chen Jianguo then reached under the counter and took out a small box. He opened the lid and placed it on the counter.
Yang Guang noticed that the bracket fungus that he brought in the day before was sitting inside the box.
Mu Xiaowan picked the box up and began to study it. It was as if she was analyzing every small detail of the fungus.
After a long moment of pure silence, Yang Guang could not hold it in and groaned, “Hey! Are you done with it?”
Yang Guang was starting to get annoyed as the lady was taking too long.. He couldn’t understand why she had to study the fungus for five minutes straight.
