What Yang Guang held in his hand was a golden rock that was just slightly smaller than a volleyball.
This rock was shining with a golden brilliance, with some other white minerals mixed in it, but it was still mostly gold.
This was exactly what Sun Guoying referred to as a gold nugget!
This was a natural gold ore, the kind with a very high composition, which was extremely rare!
Everyone was in a state of shock. Mrs. Niu’s eyes glued to the rock, and she completely forgot about Yang Guang’s existence. She asked, as if in a daze, “Dear boy, you really do have the luck to make big money; that thing is over five kilos, isn’t it?”
“No, no, it’s about two to three kilos at most. The gold contained within is only about one or two kilos!” Yang Guang smiled.
“That’s still a lot!” Mrs. Niu raised her head and looked at Yang Guang. “You have come upon quite a fortune now!”
“Not exactly!” Yang Guang gave a slight smile. “Although there is gold, it has a lot of impurities and is not pure enough for a good price!”
“Oh please, look at you! No matter what, it IS gold. You don’t have to play the humble game with us!” Mrs. Niu slapped his shoulder and teased good-naturedly.
Yang Guang laughed dryly as he looked at Sun Guoying. “Is anything else that our village chief might want to add?”
“…” Sun Guoying swallowed hard, and had nothing to say.
Now, he only had disdain in his heart. He hated that the gold had not been discovered by him. How was it that it was this kid who found it and picked it up?!
But what he didn’t know was that it was no coincidence that Yang Guang found this gold nugget. It had been wedged between the cracks of boulders. Yang Guang utilized the Art of the Five Elements in the Method of Divine Farmer to discover the area which had the gold, and it took him a lot of work to pry the boulders loose.
When he noted that Sun Guoying had no comeback, Yang Guang smiled, and returned home surrounded by envious gazes.
When he arrived home, he found only Xiaolian and Yaya there. Yang Guang asked curiously, “Xiaolian, where is Xu Ling?”
“She went out. She’s going to find someone to spruce up the village headquarters,” Xiaolian replied.
“What? She still wants to stay over there?” Yang Guang asked in surprise.
Xiaolian looked at him and asked with a teasing smile, “Why? Are you reluctant to let her go?”
“It’s not that!”
Yang Guang’s face flushed red as he defended himself quickly. “Didn’t we agree just yesterday that it is not safe for her to live there by herself?!”
“Oh, so that’s the only reason?” Xiaolian smiled, “Don’t worry, Xu Ling has no wish to stay there. However, she feels that she has no proper workspace, so she wants to at least make an office space at the headquarters.”
“Oh, that’s it?” Yang Guang’s worries were instantly quelled.
Then, he took out the golden nugget and handed it to Xiaolian. “Look at this, we’re rich!”
“Oh my goodness!” Xiaolian was so shocked that she pretty much didn’t dare to touch it.
When she realized that this really was gold, she raised her head and asked, “Yang Guang, how much is this worth?”
“It’s hard to say. Later, I’ll go into town and ask around. I think it’s at least over a hundred thousand!” Yang Guang answered.
“That’s a lot! This is amazing!” Xiaolian’s eyes were full of joy, and she couldn’t help but pull him into a hug.
This meant that their bodies were in contact with each other.
When he felt his sister-in-law’s warm and soft body, Yang Guang’s heart jumped.
However, at this moment, loud shouting and cursing came from the east end of the village. It sounded like there was a fight going on.
When Yang Guang heard the commotion, he handed the gold nugget to Xiaolian. “Find a safe place to hide this, I’ll go have a look at what’s going on!”
“Got it.” Xiaolian took the gold and went back into her room.
Yang Guang left the house and ran towards the east. When he passed the village headquarters, he happened to see Xu Ling heading to the same direction in a hurry as well, so he caught up to her and asked, “Xu Ling, what’s happening?”
“I don’t know. But it seems to be coming from Fu Zhonghua’s house!”
This was Xu Ling’s first morning in the village, but she had already gotten an idea of every household’s situation. She had even mapped out which place belonged to which family.
They hurried their pace and found that the noise was indeed coming from Fu Zhonghua’s residence.
When they arrived at the door, they saw that several people were already standing around in the yard. Fu Zhonghua, looking enraged, was grabbing He Hua by her hair and hitting her!
The moment he laid eyes upon this scene, Yang Guang immediately yelled for him to stop, and rushed at him.
There were red marks and tear stains across He Hua’s face. This made Yang Guang even more incensed. He glared at Fu Zhonghua and demanded, “What the h*ll are you doing!”
“Kid, you came just in time. She’s made a cuckold out of me, and it was you, boy, who was getting frisky with her. How unbelievably shameless can the two of you be!”
Fu Zhonghua was a big man. He was well over six feet, and weighed at least a hundred kilos. Overall, he was quite an intimidating person.
Compared to him, Yang Guang was clearly smaller and less muscular.
Upon hearing the accusations, Yang Guang, as well as Xu Ling, were stunned.
“Zhonghua, how could you say something so unpleasant?” Yang Guang looked right at Fu Zhonghua’s face that was red with anger, and asked him with a sneer, “From where did you hear this? Do you have any evidence?”
“I wouldn’t be back if there was no evidence!”
Fu Zhonghua turned to looked at him, and pointed at Sun Dawei. “He saw it. You two were snuggling at the village entrance yesterday afternoon, and caressing each other!”
“Damn it…”
Yang Guang was totally speechless. He glanced at Sun Dawei, who was had on a dumb smile. “Are you blind? When did you see He Hua and I with each other?”
“It’s you, I saw it!” Sun Dawei insisted with the same silly grin.
“You saw sh*t!”
Yang Guang was so mad he could not find the right words. This was nothing more than a nasty slander, a baseless accusation, which, of course, he could not abide by!
In blind rage, Yang Guang didn’t care about anything else as he dashed towards Sun Dawei, and gave him a good kick!
Bam!
With a muffled thud, everyone watched as Sun Dawei, all one hundred kilos of his body, fly and land on a pile of haystack in the yard.
Fortunately, it was a soft landing. If he had landed on the ground, he would have sustained several broken bones.
Fu Zhonghua, who had been full of rage, calmed down in an instant. He watched Yang Guang with a look of surprise that flashed through his eyes.
But Sun Dawei was pretty sturdy with a thick layer skin and a lot of meat under that. Although it hurt, he was not injured. He pointed at Yang Guang as he lay in the haystack. “You hit me! I’m going to tell my dad! He said that you wouldn’t dare to hit me! “
“Your dad is a piece of junk too!”
Yang Guang cursed and pointed at him. “Come over here and explain yourself. Who told you to spread dirty rumors about me?!”
“I didn’t spread the rumors, my dad told me to say them!”
Sun Dawei was a halfwit. Under pressure, he inadvertently told the truth. Everyone was stunned.
Everything became to Yang Guang. He squinted his eyes and thought to himself, “Sun Guoying, you’re looking for trouble!”
Sun Dawei was the son of the village chief. Because of what happened last night, he decided to use his idiot son to discredit Yang Guang!
Yang Guang turned to look at Fu Zhonghua, and asked him coldly, “Do you get it now? It was Sun Guoying who told his son to spread lies!”
“Even so, there must be something between the two of you. Why did he not pick someone else instead?” Fu Zhonghua argued.
Yang Guang was laughed out of frustration. He took a look at him and asked, “So, you are insisting that there is something between me and He Hua?”
