The Indifferent Young Master’s Flash Marriage - Chapter 68
Chapter 68: Meeting His Parents
Jiang Xuecheng’s eyes were calm. With one hand on his chin, he looked at Su Wan seriously.
“Wan Wan, do you think I should ask you for some interest?”
Su Wan felt terrible within. She had forgotten about Jiang Xuecheng’s beastly nature.
When Jiang Xuecheng saw Su Wan controlling herself not to tremble, he went closer to her. “Wan Wan, are you so scared of me?”
Of course!
Heaven knows, when an ordinary human was facing a beast, how could she not be afraid?
Su Wan awkwardly stretched out her hand and placed it between her face and Jiang Xuecheng’s face. Then, she forced a smile. “Xuecheng, you think too much!”
“Wan Wan, saying what you don’t mean is not a good habit…”
Jiang Xuecheng hooked Su Wan’s neck. Due to the natural difference in their strengths, Su Wan gave up struggling.
Since the previous tragic incident, Su Wan understood the more she resisted Jiang Xuecheng, the more he liked to tease her. She’d better pretend not to care.
He bent down and his thin lips pressed against Su Wan’s ear. That pair of eyes stared at her, as if trying to dig out her heart to see what she was thinking.
“Wan Wan, has your period stopped? I don’t see you drinking brown sugar ginger soup anymore…”
When she caught what Jiang Xuecheng meant, Su Wan’s face paled slightly. She shivered and had goosebumps.
My goodness, she should not let Jiang Xuecheng manipulate her like this.
“No, it’s just that my stomach doesn’t hurt anymore!”
Su Wan widened her eyes helplessly. To her, lying without blinking had almost become her unique skill of defense.
Jiang Xuecheng tilted his head slightly. He stretched out his hand to touch Su Wan’s face. From his finger tip, she could feel a fine and gentle touch.
Jiang Xuecheng’s touch made Su Wan shiver once again. It was not because she was cowardly, but her last encounter with Jiang Xuecheng in the bathroom had become a phobia for Su Wan.
Jiang Xuecheng stared at Su Wan’s peeved look. He pursed his lips and spoke once again with a deeper voice.
“Really? If you’re not afraid, why are you still shivering?”
She didn’t want to shiver but she couldn’t control herself!
With a mourning face, Su Wan almost had to swear to prove herself.
Just then, the mobile phone on the table vibrated, breaking the nervous atmosphere in the house.
The ringing sound of the phone reverberated melodiously in the house. Su Wan’s awkwardness relaxed and she clapped her hand with relief. Then, she let out a long sigh. She had been saved!
Jiang Xuecheng’s eyes swept across Su Wan who seemed to have received an amnesty. A slight smile spilled from his lips.
It looked like if he wanted his little wife to be obedient, he still had a long road ahead.
Jiang Xuecheng’s face went near Su Wan’s neck and let out a sigh. In a split second, his warm breath made Su Wan shiver all over even though she was not cold.
However, Jiang Xuecheng finally let go of Su Wan and stood up to grab his phone from the table.
After the call got through, Jiang Xuecheng merely made a few sounds of “mmhmm” and ended the call.
From Jiang Xuecheng’s indifferent look, Su Wan could not guess who the person who just called him was and what they had said.
No matter who that person was and whether they were talking about company matters or personal matters, that person had saved her from disaster!
That person was definitely her savior!
Just when Su Wan sighed, Jiang Xuecheng suddenly appeared in front of her and scared her out of her wits. Su Wan quickly looked down to reduce her sense of existence.
“Wan Wan, my mother called to ask if we could go over to the Jiang family’s old house today.”
It was time to meet his parents?
Su Wan gulped and asked, “Have you agreed? Are we going now?”
Jiang Xuecheng nodded and stared at Su Wan with sparkling eyes, making Su Wan feel uneasy. “Wan Wan, are you sure you don’t want to tidy yourself up before going?”
Was any part of her not right?
Su Wan examined herself from head to toe. Ah, with today’s dressing, she looked like an undergraduate student. This dress up would be inadequate for an occasion like this.
With Jiang Xuecheng’s reminder, Su Wan ran to the cloakroom to change into a light blue dress. After putting on some light makeup and tying up her hair tidily, she looked more mature as compared to just a while ago.
Su Wan looked at her reflection in the mirror and was satisfied. She went downstairs smiling. She then saw Jiang Xuecheng waiting at the gate. He was wearing the suit she had bought for him!
Jiang Xuecheng was originally tall. Wearing the dark grey checkered British-style suit, he looked good. The suit was smart casual.
This suit indeed fitted Jiang Xuecheng perfectly!
Su Wan praised herself secretly for her good taste. She had neglected the fact that with Jiang Xuecheng’s good looks, he would still look noble in whatever clothes he wear.
Jiang Xuecheng waved his hand at Su Wan smilingly while Su Wan walked quickly towards him.
Jiang Xuecheng was still the one to drive, while Su Wan sat in the co-driver’s seat quietly.
Although Su Wan had a driving license, she didn’t dare to drive because her parents’ death due to the road accident still lingered in her heart. She had even declined Jiang Xuecheng’s suggestion to buy her a car.
Jiang Xuecheng leaned against the car seat sluggishly and occasionally turned the steering wheel. The black Koenigsegg Agera R sped toward the Jiang family’s old house.
On their way there, Su Wan suddenly felt nervous. She clenched her fingertips. What if Jiang Xuecheng’s family didn’t like her?
Jiang Xuecheng came from a rich and noble family and was far from average rich men. With such complicated family background, Su Wan could not be sure she could gain the Jiang family’s liking.
After all, Jiang Xuecheng’s grandfather, Jiang Zhiyuan, was once the leader of Jiuzhou Country. He was said to have the authority to dominate the world. Jiang Xuecheng’s father, Jiang Wei, was a business magnate and had been powerful in the business industry for decades. He was said to be a capricious and manipulative person.
As for Jiang Xuecheng’s mother, Xu Ziyao, she was her grandfather’s favorite pupil. Not many people could get praise from Su Wan’s grandfather. She must not be a simple person.
Computing this and that, only Jiang Xuecheng’s grandmother, Luo Xiuxiu, would be the easiest to get along with and she had shown her liking towards her.
Moreover, according to Jiuzhou’s traditional theory of marriage between families of equal social rank, she, an orphaned girl, who was currently surrounded by trouble and had a poor relationship with the Su family except for interest entanglement would not be a suitable wife for Jiang Xuecheng. Would she be liked by the Jiang family?
Jiang Xuecheng tilted his head to glance at Su Wan. When he saw her uneasiness and her hand grabbing on the seat, he knew that the silly girl was making blind and disorderly conjectures.
“Wan Wan, our marriage is between you and me. You don’t have to worry about other people.”
