The Indifferent Young Master’s Flash Marriage - Chapter 52
Chapter 52: Awkward Visit
Upon hearing what Ye Shanshan said, Su Wan understood what had happened.
It was no wonder everyone in the office looked at her as such when she walked in!
Su Wan frowned slightly. She had not expected Jiang Xuecheng to promote her as the deputy director of planning department to prevent her from suffering grievances. This was hard.
Or could this be a test that Jiang Xuecheng had given her?
A test for her as she had boasted she would definitely perform and achieve success in Long Teng?
When Ye Shanshan noticed that Su Wan was deep in thought and was not looking at her, her heart burnt with flames.
“Su Wan, don’t think that you’re better and look down on others! You think you’re lucky? We’ll see!”
Su Wan regained her senses. She eyed Ye Shanshan and her voice was calm and cold.
“Miss Ye, luck is an ability. Please do not hesitate to correct me if I make a mistake in the future.”
“You, you…”
Ye Shanshan found herself unable to voice out the harsh words stuck in her throat. So, she reluctantly returned to her own seat.
After all, Su Wan was no longer her assistant. Although the deputy director was still one rank below director, they were no longer immediate superior and subordinate.
If Ye Shanshan dared to order Su Wan around openly, she would get into trouble. If nobody were to notice, she could still trip her up secretly.
After the annoying Ye Shanshan left, Su Wan let out a long sigh. Anyway, her position in the planning department was higher now and her ears could finally be at peace.
After a whole day of work, Su Wan sorted out some of Long Teng International’s outstanding past cases. She even stayed back after dismissal for the first time.
Now that she had been placed up there as the deputy director, she had no way to back down. To ensure she would not disgrace herself and Jiang Xuecheng, she had to work harder to prove that she deserved this position.
After work, Su Wan dragged her fatigued body back to Fontainebleau.
Jiang Xuecheng could not be found in the living room, study room, and master bedroom. Just when Su Wan thought he had not returned home yet, she heard the sound of running water from the bathroom.
Oh, so Jiang Xuecheng was taking a shower. It seemed that he was indeed a mild clean freak…
Su Wan laughed and was about to turn around when she heard the bathroom door opened.
Men who had just taken a shower always had a unique charm. Su Wan glanced at Jiang Xuecheng’s slightly wet face. Her eyes were fixed and she found herself getting obsessed with him.
She had to admit that no other man in this world had such perfect features and no matter from which angle, no one could find flaws with this face.
Jiang Xuecheng saw Su Wan and smiled charmingly.
He walked slowly toward Su Wan, his eyes filled with care. “Wan Wan, does your stomach still hurt?”
Upon his reminder, Su Wan suddenly felt a slight pain in her stomach. D*mn, she must have worked too hard today and been too exhausted to even remember about her menstrual cramps.
Su Wan placed her right hand on her stomach and she frowned. Then, she nodded gently.
Jiang Xuecheng shot her a glance. “Didn’t you boil some brown sugar ginger soup?”
He had prepared a bag of brown sugar and ginger slices for Su Wan this morning!
Su Wan was startled. She then recalled the brown sugar and ginger slices in her bag which she had forgotten.
She shouted “ah!” and finally murmured, “I was too busy today and forgot.”
“You make me worry!”
Jiang Xuecheng glanced at Su Wan from the side, then stretched out his arm over Su Wan’s waist and carried her.
It was another princess carry!
Looking at her legs in the air, Su Wan was speechless. At that moment, she knew she was in the wrong and placed her arms around Jiang Xuecheng’s neck.
Why did she feel addicted to this man’s doting?
Su Wan half-closed her eyes and was brought to the couch in the living hall by Jiang Xuecheng. Then, he went to boil brown sugar ginger soup for Su Wan.
This time, Su Wan didn’t want to be fed. She insisted on feeding herself. However, the brown sugar ginger soup did not take effect as quickly as the previous night. So, Su Wan remained curled up on the couch.
“Does it still hurt?”
Out came a pleasant voice from Jiang Xuecheng’s thin lips when he saw Su Wan’s look of pain while he frowned.
Su Wan bit her lips and nodded gently.
Jiang Xuecheng pursed his lips. His eyes deepened. He half squatted and stretched his fair hands towards Su Wan’s stomach.
Caught off guard, Su Wan curled up and didn’t understand the purpose of Jiang Xuecheng’s sudden attack.
“Don’t move, it’ll be ticklish…”
Jiang Xuecheng raised his head and look at Su Wan. His voice was as sweet as the sound of nature. “I’ll massage you. You’ll feel better.”
Jiang Xuecheng knew how to massage?
Su Wan widened her eyes. Jiang Xuecheng bent over and his gestures were light and gentle. Unconsciously, Su Wan felt the pain in her stomach decreasing gradually.
Jiang Xuecheng’s unique snowy breath haunted her. Su Wan lowered her head and was astonished by his serious look.
This man was like a rare good dream and Su Wan was close to drowning in it.
The atmosphere gradually turned charming. Suddenly, the saying ‘it’s better to live in peace and tranquility’ appeared in Su Wan’s mind. She wished time would stand still in that moment.
Just when both of them were enjoying that moment of peace, the sound of door knob twisting interrupted Su Wan’s sweet dream.
“Ah, ah, I didn’t see anything. Please continue!”
An old but still agile female voice could be heard all of a sudden. Su Wan turned around and the sight that welcomed her was an old grandmother wearing a dark-colored overcoat.
What seemed stranger was the old grandmother staring at her and Jiang Xuecheng in a teasing manner.
Looking from the angle of the door, Jiang Xuecheng was in a half prone position. That situation could create a misunderstanding to an outsider.
It was so embarrassing!
Su Wan felt awkward at that moment. The woman who could march into Fontainebleau in an imposing manner, with this appearance and dressing, would definitely be the legendary senior madam of the Jiang family, Luo Xiuxiu.
Luo Xiuxiu’s gray hair was neatly combed. She was plump, most likely from good nutrition, and although she was past her prime age, taking a closer look at her, one could still see her good looks.
Her eyes emitting wise rays were especially attractive, very similar to Jiang Xuecheng’s eyes.
The grand empress dowager was here, but why did she have to appear at this time?
Su Wan was at a loss while Jiang Xuecheng was calm. He stood up calmly and poured a cup of tea for Luo Xiuxiu.
“Grandmother, why are you here?”
