The Indifferent Young Master’s Flash Marriage - Chapter 239
Chapter 239: Young Master Is Willing To Spend
When Su Wan, who was wiping off the stain on her dress, heard Sheng An’ning’s voice from behind her, coldness flashed in her eyes.
She hadn’t expected the Lu family cruise ship auction to be so popular. It seemed everyone who detested her were gathered here today.
With a shocked face, Sheng An’ning walked toward Jiang Xuecheng while pointing at Su Wan’s dress. A sense of satisfaction from adding insult to injury flashed through her eyes but what was shown on her face was sympathy.
“Sis-in-Law, has your gown been stained by the red wine? Do you need to change?”
The auction was about to start. If Su Wan were to change, she was afraid she would miss the opening of the auction.
Su Wan stood up slowly and smiled faintly at Sheng An’ning. “It doesn’t matter.”
When Sheng An’ning heard what Su Wan said, she stretched out her hand to tug Jiang Xuecheng’s arm.
“Brother Xuecheng, since Sis-in-Law has said it doesn’t matter, please stop frightening this lady. She looks pitiful and I don’t think she splashed the wine on Sis-in-Law on purpose.”
Su Yurou was taken aback. She had not expected someone to speak up for her.
Su Yurou raised her head and when she saw Sheng An’ning’s face, which was similar to Su Wan’s, shock crept into her teary eyes.
In this world, there were indeed people who looked so much alike yet had no blood ties…
Since she could address Jiang Xuecheng so intimately, she should be Ms. Sheng who had been fostered by the Jiang family.
Just when Su Yurou was in doubt, Jiang Xuecheng shook off Sheng An’ning’s hand.
“Don’t touch me.”
When Jiang Xuecheng’s low rebuke came, it was undoubtedly a heavy slap to Sheng An’ning’s face.
Sheng An’ning felt extremely awkward. Luckily, Jiang Haoxuan came and stood beside her.
Su Yurou thought that the relationship between Ms. Sheng and Jiang Xuecheng wouldn’t be too bad since she had gotten him to stop. However, looking at Jiang Xuecheng’s attitude, he seemed to be cold toward Sheng An’ning…
Su Yurou’s forehead broke into cold sweat and she looked pleadingly at Jiang Xuecheng. Her voice was weak and humble, making several men beside her sympathize with her.
“Young Master, I…I really didn’t do it on purpose. Could you please forgive me? I was the one who dirtied Wan’s dress but I can compensate…”
Sheng An’ning knew Su Yurou and Su Wan were not on good terms and as the saying goes, ‘an enemy’s enemy is one’s friend’. Thus, she started to chime in.
“Brother Xuecheng, this lady knows she’s in the wrong and is willing to compensate. As a man, you should just let this go. If enmity isn’t settled amicably, there’s no end to it. It’ll ruin your gentlemanly demeanor.”
Jiang Xuecheng darted Sheng An’ning a cold look. He had long disliked this woman. He shifted his eyes to Su Wan, as if waiting for her to say something.
Su Wan gently shook her head, signaling to him not to make a big fuss. She had been invited by Lu Qingyu to attend the cruise ship auction today.
Everyone present were guests. If guests were to mess things up, she was afraid that organizer of the auction would not be happy.
Jiang Xuecheng held Su Wan’s hand. He gave Su Wan a reassuring look. Then, he said faintly, “You said you wanted to compensate?”
Su Yurou saw the man looking down at her from above. A chill ran down her spine and she felt her goosebumps rising.
This man was extremely handsome but his eyes were really too cold. That kind of strong oppression made her thoughts confused.
Su Yurou nodded while trembling. Her tongue was almost tied into a knot as she replied, “Yes…yes, Young Master. I’m willing to pay for the gown!”
Coldness flashed through Jiang Xuecheng’s eyes. He stared at Su Yurou and said, “Before you pay for the dress, shouldn’t you apologize first?”
Su Yurou was stunned and she immediately bowed respectfully at Jiang Xuecheng. “I’m sorry, Young Master, It’s my fault.”
“I am not the one whom you splashed red wine on.”
Jiang Xuecheng stood beside Su Wan. His voice was so cold it was like jade falling to the ground.
Su Yurou’s face was instantly flushed red. He wanted her to apologize to that b*tch? No way!
Meeting Jiang Xuecheng’s cold gaze, Su Yurou trembled. She walked toward Su Wan reluctantly and with a face of humiliation, she said, “I’m sorry, Wan.”
Su Yurou’s voice was low. She was afraid Jiang Xuecheng would use this as an excuse to have her apologize again.
However, Jiang Xuecheng did not do anything. He merely stood indifferently by the side, his huge figure cold and hard like a rock.
Jiang Xuecheng held Su Wan’s hand and brought her aside.
When Su Yurou saw him about to leave, her heart relaxed and thought this matter had been settled but unexpectedly, Jiang Xuecheng turned around all of a sudden.
Su Yurou thought Jiang Xuecheng had second thoughts and her face stiffened instantly.
Feeling upset, she smiled, “Young Master, is there anything else?”
Jiang Xuecheng narrowed his eyes. His sharp eyes were fixed on Su Yurou’s fake smile. Then, he moved his lips and his voice was as cold as the winter breeze.
“Ms. Su, we’ll hopefully be able to see the gown you want to compensate for before Sunday. A gentle reminder to you that this gown is designed personally by Abner.”
Su Yurou listened in a daze. She had always bought gowns in specialty boutiques and had never found a designer to tailor one for her.
Was Jiang Xuecheng implying that she was unable to get a designer to tailor her a gown?
Su Yurou smiled awkwardly. She probed, “If the designer is unable to complete this gown in two days, can I compensate with money?”
Su Wan’s gown looked simple and pure without a single diamond. It shouldn’t be too costly.
“Since you think it’s too troublesome to pay for the dress, you may compensate with money.”
Jiang Xuecheng paused. He looked at Su Yurou with his eyes as deep as sea, “Then, I’ll wait for your payment, Ms. Su.”
Suddenly, an incredulous voice emerged.
“Oh goodness, gowns that Abner designs cost at least millions of dollars!”
“Young Master is willing to spend on his wife…”
“Can Su Yurou afford to pay for it?”
Hearing the discussion of the people, Su Yurou’s body shrunk. God, had she just splashed red wine onto a gown worth at least millions of dollars?
Who would believe a gown so simple and pure would cost so much?
Su Yurou widened her eyes. She had lived extravagantly from a young age but her most expensive gowns were only a few hundred thousand dollars…
How could anyone spend millions of dollars to buy a gown that would probably only be worn once?
Su Yurou’s face turned ghastly pale that moment. With her father’s shares in Sheng Yuan, how could he allow her to throw away millions of dollars?
Terrified, Su Yurou looked pleadingly at Su Wan. “Wan, I…I really don’t have that much money. Could you please…”
Without waiting for Su Yurou to finish her sentence, Jiang Xuecheng held Su Wan’s hand and brought her away.
Su Yurou saw the backs of the two people leaving. She sat on the ground looking like a mad woman.
