The Indifferent Young Master’s Flash Marriage - Chapter 224
Chapter 224: Gamble With Her Own Life
Stunned, Su Wan widened her eyes. She had not expected Sheng An’ning to do this!
Didn’t she want her life?
A chill ran down Su Wan’s spine. To prove her innocence, Sheng An’ning had gambled with her own life!
How terrifying was such disposition!
She was betting on the Jiang seniors’ doting on her, betting on Jiang Haoxuan’s love for her, even betting on whether her life was strong enough.
Sheng An’ning’s face flushed red the minute she drank the entire bottle of perfume. She touched her throat in distress and tears appeared in her eyes.
“Brother Xuecheng, you must believe me. I did not harm Sis-in-Law…cough…Brother Xuecheng, I’ve been wronged. How would I do such treacherous thing…”
Looking at Sheng An’ning’s determined way to prove her innocence, Jiang Xuecheng’s eyes sank.
Hearing Sheng An’ning’s sobs, Jiang Xuecheng was not moved but Jiang Haoxuan’s heart ached so much.
“An’ning, why are you so silly? I know you’re innocent. Why are you torturing yourself like this?”
Sheng An’ning’s eyes were teary. She shook her head sadly toward Jiang Haoxuan. Then, she looked at the man beside Su Wan, the man who remained cold.
There was a mist over his beautiful dark eyes, making one unable to tell what he was thinking.
When Sheng An’ning saw that Jiang Xuecheng had no intention to speak, her tears kept flowing.
There was a kind of beauty where, despite the wailing or sobbing, it would not ruin the slightest bit of beauty but instead increase one’s sympathy.
Sheng An’ning was such a beauty.
However, Jiang Xuecheng’s heart seemed to have been made from rock, cold and hard without a sign of change.
Sheng An’ning’s face grew paler. Her body shook and she was on the verge of fainting but she had not forgotten to explain to Jiang Xuecheng.
“Brother Xuecheng, you must believe me…”
Sheng An’ning looked terrible. Cold sweat broke on her face. She touched her stomach and all of a sudden, felt sick.
“An’ning, are you alright? Please hold on for a while more. The doctor will be here soon!”
When Jiang Haoxuan saw Sheng An’ning in pain, his body trembled. In a panic, he took out his mobile phone and called the emergency number.
After making the call, Sheng An’ning collapsed backward and fainted.
Jiang Haoxuan stretched out his arms and caught her slender body.
Looking at the woman in his arms looking pale, Jiang Haoxuan frowned and felt the anger within him had ignited.
Burning with a frenzy of rage, Jiang Haoxuan roared at Su Wan. “It’s all because of you, you vile woman! If not for you, how would An’ning be in this state? If something were to happen to An’ning, I’ll have you attend her funeral!”
Su Wan pursed her lips and took a deep breath. She tried her best to control her urge to slap Jiang Haoxuan.
“Master Jiang, Ms. Sheng drank the perfume on her own accord. No one forced her to do so!”
Jiang Haoxuan’s anger flared up when he saw Su Wan’s indifferent look.
How could such shameless woman exist in this world?
Although she and Sheng An’ning looked alike, her heart was so vicious as to push An’ning to death!
Jiang Haoxuan placed Sheng An’ning carefully on the stool and then raised his hand, ready to slap Su Wan!
Jiang Xuecheng was standing beside Su Wan. When he saw what Jiang Haoxuan was about to do, he stood up immediately and seized Jiang Haoxuan by the hand!
Pain was what Jiang Haoxuan felt first.
Jiang Xuecheng had learnt martial arts. Jiang Haoxuan, who had learnt self-defense, was of no match to Jiang Xuecheng.
With a violent force, Jiang Haoxuan almost burst into tears with pain. He stared at Jiang Xuecheng in disbelief as he exclaimed, “Brother, you hit me for the sake of a woman!”
Jiang Xuecheng stared at Jiang Haoxuan with his eyes as cold as ice and frost. His handsome face was stoic and his voice was determined and bitter.
“Wan Wan is my wife and your sister-in-law. If you don’t respect her, it means you don’t respect me.”
Jiang Haoxuan felt a chill in his heart when Jiang Xuecheng’s low voice entered his ears.
He stared at Jiang Xuecheng and there was a horrible storm surging in his dark eyes.
“Brother, you don’t know how much An’ning likes you! Do you know how much she has done to try to marry you? But you? You married an unknown woman in the blink of an eye! You’re not worthy of her!”
When Su Wan heard herself being identified as an unknown woman, she laughed softly and her look was full of sarcasm.
She suddenly felt that other than Jiang Haoxuan’s looks, which was similar to his brother, he was far from his brother in many aspects.
Jiang Xuecheng raised his head coldly. With a stoic look, he said, “Why should I respond to a woman I don’t like? You’ve liked Sheng An’ning for so many years, but did she agree to marry you?”
Upon hearing this, Jiang Haoxuan suddenly turned into a tiger with its claws pulled out. He was dumbfounded as he looked at Sheng An’ning, who was still unconscious.
Except for her pale face, she still looked like a beautiful angel with the light in the music room reflected on her.
Yes, it had been many years and Jiang Haoxuan didn’t know why he was so devoted to Sheng An’ning.
When they were young, he would follow her wherever she went. She wanted to learn the guqin and he became her audience. Although he didn’t know what was so nice about the dull melody, as long as the melody was played by her, he could accompany her the entire day. She wanted to become a singer and he fully supported her…
Hence, when Sheng An’ning chose to go to Dong Chen Country to further her studies, he followed her without hesitation.
He thought staying together and helping each other with difficulties these few years could move Sheng An’ning, but this woman’s heart had long belonged to his brother without harboring a bit of space for him.
Jiang Haoxuan laughed bitterly and just as he was about to say something, sounds of footsteps were heard from outside the room.
“Haoxuan, An’ning, why are you two so noisy? Are you quarrelling?”
The door was pushed opened and there stood Luo Xiuxiu and Xu Ziyao.
When they saw Jiang Xuecheng and Su Wan in the room, they were stunned but when they shifted their eyes to Sheng An’ning, their faces changed.
Xu Ziyao responded first. Her cold eyes swept across the few young people in the room and she asked, “What happened?”
Before anyone could answer, they heard the siren of the ambulance outside the Jiang family’s old mansion.
Luo Xiuxiu widened her eyes. “You…”
Jiang Zhiyuan and Jiang Wei, who were reading upstairs, were disturbed. They walked down quickly and joined the rest.
