The Ice-Cold Executive Gets A Wife Novel - Chapter 98
Chapter 98: I’ll Wait For You
The energy that dinner had given Sophia quickly ran out as she racked her brain to refine the text and continue to type. She glanced at the bottom right corner of the screen. It was already 9:20 pm.
She looked up at Sebastian’s office. There was no light. He should have left already.
Of course, he was the founder of NRTE. Why would the CEO of NRTE work overtime with her? Earlier, he was kind to her, probably because she was a pregnant employee. But she was a little emotional and thought otherwise.
She must have been too focused earlier that she did not notice his departure. If she had noticed, she would undoubtedly have greeted him.
He said, ‘I’ll wait for you’, which meant he was waiting for her to finish the PowerPoint presentation, not accompanying her in overtime. When Sophia thought of this, it all made sense.
She understood the inconveniences of pregnancy, too. One was physical nausea that came with pregnancy, and the other was that Sophia felt like her brain hadn’t been working properly lately.
It used to be easy to think of solutions to problems, and she now had to go around in circles to think of them. Sophia finally understood why everyone had advised her to stop working since she had chosen to keep the child.
Pregnant women were at a disadvantage compared to men or women who were not pregnant. In the past, a PowerPoint presentation would not have taken Sophia four or five hours, but now there was only one-third left.
A wave of sleepiness hit her, and Sophia decided to take a nap first so that the baby in her stomach could relax.
In her dazedness, she felt someone pass by her. She thought that the blurry figure was familiar.
“Ding!” That was the notification sound of a text message. Sophia had a short nap, and when she looked at the time, she had already slept for twenty minutes.
‘Are you still working?’
‘There’s only a little left. It will probably take more than an hour.’ It was Olivia.
Sophia tapped the ‘send’ button and felt that something was wrong.
The air-conditioning outlet had a warm wind blowing out of nowhere. She looked at herself and saw that she was wearing an unfamiliar suit.
“Cough, cough.” It came from the direction of the sofa.
“I saw that you fell asleep. It is a little cold. I was afraid that you would catch a cold.” Sebastian looked at Sophia, who seemed puzzled.
“Thank you.” Hadn’t he left? How long had he sat on the sofa and watched her sleep?
Sophia had no intention of returning the suit to him. Instead, she wrapped herself even tighter with it.
“Bro, you don’t have to wait for me. I’m almost done. I was just a little sleepy just now.” Could he have felt that she was not dedicated to her work?
“Yeah, it’s fine. I said I’ll wait for you.” There was an unquestionable stubbornness in his tone.
Sophia quickly finished the PowerPoint presentation and sent it to Sebastian’s email. Sebastian opened the email and saw two complete documents in different formats, one PowerPoint and one text archived version. He couldn’t help but be impressed by Sophia.
He had thought that Sophia was at most a smart girl, but now it seemed that she was very outstanding, which he could see from the PowerPoint she made.
Sophia had been waiting for Sebastian’s response, but Sebastian was silent for a long time.
“Ahem, bro, what do you think?” She decided to take the initiative, hoping to get positive feedback.
“Well, not bad.” It wasn’t exceptionally great. When Sebastian said ‘not bad’, it was already a great affirmation of others.
“That’s great, bro.” Sophia relaxed after she heard Sebastian say that her work was not bad.
“Now, am I dedicated to my work?” Sophia’s expression suddenly became playful.
She remembered that he had coldly said that she was not dedicated to her work because of the form. He was vindictive.
“Of course, you’re very professional,” Sebastian replied with a smile.
Sophia responded with a smile.
“That’s more like it.” Besides being playful, there was also some intimacy in his tone.
She did not know when she began to talk to him like this.
Sebastian remembered that from the beginning, she was not afraid of him. She dared to look at his naked body. Even though she was also shy, so much so that she had a nosebleed, she still looked for something for herself. She was not afraid at all.
Sophia was different from other women.
“So, bro, if there’s nothing else, I’ll go home now,” Sophia said as she stood up.
She was indeed a little tired. After all, it was already past ten o’clock.
She realized that she was still wearing Sebastian’s suit while he was only wearing a thin shirt. Under the light, Sophia could see his muscles under the white shirt.
“Thank you for your suit, bro.” She reached out and handed the suit over. Sebastian stood up from the sofa, but he didn’t reach out to take it.
“I’ll drive you home,” Sebastian said..
