The Ice-Cold Executive Gets A Wife Novel - Chapter 83
Chapter 83: Don’t Let Her Do Anything
“Bruce, the analysis report from yesterday has to be brought forward. The CEO has a meeting and will need it soon. Is it ready?” It was someone that Sophia had never seen before who was shouting at Bruce.
On Wall Street, if one had something to say, they would shout it across the room. Efficiency was everything. No one would approach you and give you a detailed explanation because they were concerned about something.
“Oh my! Why did they bring that forward? Now!” The smiling expression on Bruzzie’s face suddenly disappeared. It was as if he was suddenly a different person.
“The working station for this batch of interns is over there. Two of them have already arrived. Do you see them? Go over there and find a seat.” Bruce turned his head to look at Sophia and pointed at the area he had mentioned earlier.
Then, he immediately immersed himself in his work. His gaze was focused on the computer screen.
Sophia liked this kind of professional attitude. This was one of the reasons why she wanted to come to Wall Street and get into financial analysis. In terms of data and work, the people on Wall Street had sensitivity and focus that other industries did not have.
“Thank you. Please continue with your work.” Sophia knew that she would not receive any response, but she still maintained her manners.
After she said that, she turned around and left.
After she left, Bruce looked up and looked at the row of interns in the distance. He smiled.
Another batch of interns. He thought about how he had gone from an intern four years ago to where he was today.
Wall Street was a magical and wondrous place.
Every source of his information and every case of investigation results were very important, and the discovery of some instances could even double Wall Street’s profits.
Wall Street staff were willing to pay all their time and effort on doing a research report. The research on these reports required a lot of time and money.
Wall Street employees were mysterious and sacred existences. The most powerful scientific and technological forces on Wall Street were here, with the best scientists. There were also the most powerful Wall Street consortia, the top government officials, civil servants, etc.
And that young leader, Sebastian, who was two years younger than Bruce, had extraordinary talent and great power. This kind of person determined the future fate of Wall Street. He would decide the future direction of Wall Street.
This kind of person was the master of the entire Wall Street and would decide the life and death of Wall Street.
“Mr. CEO, this is the report you asked for.” The important report had always been directly given to Sebastian by the analysts. However, this report’s importance was not that high. Usually, only the department’s assistant was tasked to send it to the twenty-third floor.
Bruce had been in the workplace for so many years. He understood that it was far from a simple report if the CEO wanted him to make a trip personally.
“Oh? You are quite fast. I have given you the task one day in advance, but you have completed it in such a short time.” Sebastian mumbled.
Then, he picked up the report and flipped through it. “Well, not bad. You may leave.” He nodded to Bruce.
“Okay.” Bruce had only just touched the door handle when he heard something happening behind him.
“Are all this year’s batch of interns here?” Sebastian asked emotionlessly as if he was asking casually.
“Yes, they’re all here.” Bruce wasn’t sure when Sebastian started to care about the interns. He found it a little unbelievable. So he waited for Sebastian to continue.
“NRTE’s success is not only because of the support of its outstanding employees but also because of the continuous flow of new blood every year. As for the interns, you should put more effort into them.”
Was this same the CEO Bruce knew? He had never seen Sebastian speak in such a roundabout way.
“I remember that there is a ‘pregnant woman among this batch of interns, right?” When he said the word ‘pregnant woman’, Sebastian felt his tone had become heavier, and he paused. He was a little angry that he gradually accepted that Sophia was pregnant with someone else’s child.
Having been at NRTE for many years, Bruce naturally understood the CEO’s speaking habits. He did not like to be interrupted when he was speaking. He preferred that the person he was talking to respond with ‘okay’ or ‘got it’ and leave quietly to complete the order immediately after he was done explaining everything.
“She seems to have more potential than the other interns. Get the other interns to do the trivial and miscellaneous things that the interns usually do.”
As if afraid of being seen as giving Sophia special treatment, Sebastian immediately added, “In case something goes wrong, I don’t want it to be because of NRTE.”
“I understand.” Although Bruce said so, he did not think so in his heart. He was afraid that the company would be affected, so he did not want to recruit Sophia in the first place..
