The Ice-Cold Executive Gets A Wife Novel - Chapter 82
Chapter 82: Bruce’s Assistant
Daisy watched Sophia and Wright walk into the elevator together.
She couldn’t even keep up with the closing speed of the elevator doors. She panted disgracefully as the display screen showed the elevator going up, but she tried to control her usual gracefulness.
Daisy didn’t want Sophia to get close to anyone who had anything to do with Sebastian.
If it were something as insignificant as Sophia being the prettiest girl on campus and getting a lot of attention from boys, Daisy wouldn’t have been so jealous. After all, the sexy and passionate Daisy was more popular than the aloof and pretty Sophia to those boys.
But now, when she saw Sophia as an obstacle to getting close to and getting Sebastian, Daisy became even more jealous of Sophia.
Besides, she had to keep an eye on Sophia at all times. Although Sophia didn’t remember the man she had slept with, who knew when she would remember.
Then, her plan to marry into a wealthy family would all be ruined. Daisy’s eyes flashed with resentment at the thought of this, and she gritted her teeth.
‘I have to do something,’ she thought. Daisy saw Rosa, who was already walking toward the elevator. She quickly got into the elevator the moment the elevator door opened. She did not want to have too much contact with Rosa.
“Hello, is the investment analysis department on the seventeenth floor?” In the elevator, a man who looked very energetic looked at Daisy a little embarrassedly.
That was a real cliche way to flirt. Daisy rolled her eyes internally.
However, when she looked at the man, she realized that he looked great and carried a captivating aura with his youthful appearance. He had thick eyebrows and big eyes; he was a handsome man.
According to Daisy’s previous standards, she would not mind having a drink with such a man and spending a pleasant evening with him. But now, other than wanting to get Sebastian, no other man was worthy of her attention.
“The investment analysis department? Hmm… I think it should be on the seventeenth floor.” This man was from the same department as Sophia, so he should be one of the new interns. Based on Daisy’s intuition toward men, she felt that this man could be her source of information on Sophia in the future.
Not to mention, she had been here for a few days. Other than Rosa, who was bossing her around, most people here were minding their own business. She did not have anyone to talk to.
Wall Street sucked. It was boring.
Daisy could not understand why so many people were fighting so hard to get onto Wall Street.
Was it as good as they thought?
However, this place was closer to Sebastian.
“Are you the new intern? I heard that they interviewed five people yesterday.” It was a good idea to lower the enemy’s guard first.
“Yes, I have to say that I am fortunate to be able to pass the interview. Oh right, my name is Alan. Hello.” The other party subconsciously scratched his head. Perhaps he was not used to extending his hand after introducing himself.
“My name is Daisy. I’m in the administrative department.” Daisy gave him a bright smile. She knew that very few men could resist her smile.
“This is me. Nice to meet you, Alan.” There were other people going to different floors in the elevator. Daisy greeted him briefly and then got off the elevator on the third floor. She turned her head to look at Alan.
From the way Alan looked at her, she knew that he was already attracted to her. Men were very strange. As long as they were attracted to a woman, he would try his best to appear in the woman’s sight.
Sophia got off the elevator alone, while Wright took the elevator to the twenty-third floor. An inexplicable sense of nervousness suddenly rose in her heart at the unfamiliar environment. However, she immediately calmed herself down.
“Hello, I’m Sophia, an intern at the investment department, reporting for duty today.” Sophia politely greeted the first colleague she saw when she entered the office.
“Excuse me… I…” Before Sophia could finish her sentence, she heard a voice not far away.
“Bruce, look, your intern is here.”
Bruce raised his right arm and waved a few fingers in the air, beckoning Sophia.
It seemed that NRTE had assigned her to be Bruce’s assistant. Sophia was not surprised.
The position she interviewed for was financial analyst’s assistant. The few interviewers who interviewed her yesterday could be her superiors. Judging from the interview yesterday, Bruce did seem to be more concerned and interested in her than the other interviewers.
“Sophia, I’m your supervisor during your internship. I fought so hard to get you in my department.” The man did not seem to be more than a few years older than her, and his frivolous tone made Sophia feel uncomfortable.
However, since she was here for an internship, she was here to learn. She only needed to do her part well.
“Thank you for your acknowledgment,” Sophia said politely, keeping her distance..
