The Ice-Cold Executive Gets A Wife Novel - Chapter 209
Chapter 209: Resigned
Morris quickly started the car and followed. She was ecstatic. She didn’t expect to meet Sophia at this moment and see her in a car. It was so easy. Sometimes it was better to come at the right time.
Morris stared at the car and refused to give up. Finally, after passing two traffic lights, she easily caught up with the car and approached her.
She looked out the window and found that she was separated from Sophia by the glass. It was indeed her! But Sophia did not notice her at all. She just looked ahead.
She looked really tired. Morris could not figure out what this woman was thinking about.
If she had not received the text message from an unknown number, she would not have believed that Norman had gone to look for Sophia again. In the photo, Norman held Sophia in front of his car as if he were questioning her. Although Sophia’s back was facing the camera, the other photos were enough to prove that the woman was Sophia.
That was great. Wasn’t it all just about a child? Just a child could do that?
Morris was completely focused on the text and didn’t have time to think about who had sent the text. Instead, she only cared about who was still trying to stand in the way of her marriage with Norman. She wouldn’t allow it, and her family wouldn’t allow it.
Daisy watched the two cars drive away from her. Not bad, Morris. She had checked Norman’s dashboard when she had borrowed his car. She was smug about the text message on her phone.
Sophia looked ahead in the car. When she handed in her resignation letter, she didn’t even dare to go to the twenty-third floor to face Sebastian. As for the rest, she allowed Raphael to help her pack up and get Olivia to bring them to her.
She did say hello to Wright. After all, Wright was the one who brought her to the twenty-third floor and taught her about the job.
“I sent the project documents to the computer remotely yesterday. They are all in the folder on the desk. The other documents have been noted in detail before. So there should be no need to hand them over,” Sophia told him everything she could think of.
When she was about to leave, Sophia was still a little reluctant. She felt sorry about the job and for some of the people here. When she went through the exit procedures, Rosa said regretfully, “It’s a pity, but I think you can become a professional investment analyst anywhere.”
Sophia was glad that Daisy was not on the third floor just now. But that was good because she wouldn’t know what to say if they met.
“Sophia, since you have decided, I wish you good luck,” Wright said sincerely before he had to answer another call.
Someone was walking around in the room and was also on the phone, Sophia thought to herself.
“Wright, thank you. I’ve had a lot of fun working with you for the past few months. Also, please say thank you to Phil for me. Oh, and Dr. Ryan and the others. I won’t go up,” Sophia said politely.
She thanked them for taking care of her during this time, but she avoided one person from the beginning to the end.
She bade everyone on the twenty-third floor farewell but him. Sebastian stared blankly at Wright’s phone until the beeping of the phone being hung up was heard.
“It’s good that she’s gone. What do you think, Wright?” Sebastian seemed to be talking to Wright but also seemed to be talking to himself.
” Wright didn’t know how to answer.
“You can leave now.” Sebastian turned off his phone and sat behind his desk. His gaze was fixed on the window. Wright didn’t know what he was thinking.
‘You don’t even want to see me anymore? Sophia, if you really want to leave, won’t you miss me at all?’
Although this departure was last-minute, she still completed the tasks at hand. Moreover, even if she did not leave now, she would not know what reason she could use to continue working here in a few months.
She did not want to continue to have anything to do with Sebastian, so she quit as soon as possible. After all, she had nothing to stay for.
Sophia’s parents were not too surprised by her decision. They had wanted her to give up the job for a long time. It was already difficult for an average person, much less a pregnant woman, to work so hard. However, their daughter had been so stubborn since she was young. Of course, it was good for a girl to have some self-reliance at this age, but after all, her health was more important.
After all, work was only a part of life. Sophia’s departure made her family members sigh in relief.
“It’s good to quit. It’s a good decision. Come back quickly. We haven’t had a good meal together since you left home for work. Our family together is more important than anything else. Come back. I will cook delicious for you every day and raise my granddaughter to be healthy and well-pampered.” Sophia’s mother urged Sophia to hurry home as they were preparing a sumptuous dinner to celebrate.
Maybe it was a good thing to quit, after all, Sophia thought..
