The Ice-Cold Executive Gets A Wife Novel - Chapter 200
Chapter 200: An Important Thing
“Let’s go back first thing in the morning. Look at you. Everyone says that the CEO of NRTE always deals with matters with a knife in hand. Why are you so hesitant when it comes to relationships. This time, we’ll call it even. Don’t think about the past. It wasn’t your fault, to begin with.” Ellie looked up at Sebastian. It was as if she had decided for him.
She knew her friend too well. He could think things through easily, but he was stubborn regarding relationships. He tried to be perfect but didn’t know that relationships could never be perfect.
There was no perfect time, no lover, no compromise, only a relatively good time.
‘It wasn’t your fault.’ Sebastian knew that Ellie was talking about that night. However, no one had mentioned it since that night.
Raphael had pestered him about what had happened that night and why Ellie had returned to London without saying goodbye. Sebastian had locked himself in his room for a week and still couldn’t forgive himself.
He remembered Raphael banging on his door for an explanation, but when the door opened, Raphael took one look at him and walked away. After that summer vacation, Raphael went off to study art. The three-person group was never the same. It was like a triangle, missing one end.
That day, Ellie had asked him to climb a hill. He had prepared fireworks to confess his love to her.
Perhaps it was because it had just rained and the weather was humid, or perhaps the quality of the fireworks was not good. He lit the fireworks excitedly, but the fireworks wouldn’t light.
“Maybe it’s a misfire. I’ll go and take a look.” Ellie had always volunteered for such things. Just as she was checking, for some reason, the fireworks worked.
Ellie covered her face and cried out in pain. She didn’t know what to do. Only the fireworks flew up into the sky, exploding and forming a confession.
But neither of them was in the mood to look at the fireworks.
Sebastian looked at Ellie. Although her face was covered with foundation, there were faint traces of burns.
It would have been better if he didn’t do that. Although Ellie didn’t blame him, Annie and Kevin severely punished Sebastian. The next day, he heard that Ellie had flown back to London. They didn’t even have time to say goodbye.
“I shouldn’t have…” Sebastian stammered.
“This isn’t like you! Don’t mention the past. I’m waiting for your good news! I’m waiting to attend your wedding!” Ellie nudged him but found that she couldn’t push him anymore.
“Ellie, thank you.” Sebastian was sincere. Whether it was in the past or now, he was very grateful. Just like what his parents said, he should do anything for her.
“We’re a family. So don’t say thank you.” She opened the car door, got in, and turned to Sebastian with a smile.
Sebastian lay on the bed and recalled what Ellie said. She told Sebastian that sometimes the more complicated he made things out to be, the less he should think about it. Instead, he should just do it because thinking was fruitless.
If he wanted to do it, he had to do it. The sooner, the better. He didn’t want to wait any longer. But what he had to say in person was sincere.
But how should he say it? He hadn’t confessed to a girl before. The only time he had attempted to confess to Ellie was ten years ago, and he had messed it up.
“Are you stupid? Don’t tell me you haven’t confessed to her since that time?! To put it simply, just say it directly. Just show the imposing manner that you have when you negotiate with her. Don’t worry. I can see that she will agree.” Sebastian tapped on Ellie’s voice note, realizing he had been ridiculed endlessly. He shook his head helplessly.
Would she agree? Sebastian began to imagine that Sophia’s baby would be born in a few months. Could he be the baby’s father?
A father who played a key role in the baby’s development. Now that NRTE was running smoothly, he could spend most of his time with the baby.
Unlike his father, who only had five of the 365 days for him. Not to mention the parent-teacher conference, he even stood alone on the podium at the graduation ceremony.
“Daddy, daddy. Mommy is calling you.” A childish voice called out to him.
“Hey, I’ll be right there.” He knew the child’s mother was preparing dinner in the kitchen and calling him to help. Such days were his daily routine, and he would never get tired of it.
“Can you do the peeling?” The woman handed him the fruit knife in her hand, but Sebastian didn’t hold it firmly. The knife fell to the ground, making a loud noise.
He looked up and met the woman’s eyes apologetically. He was always so clumsy.
“Ah! Why are you here? Where’s Sophia!” Sebastian shuddered and sat up in shock, covered in cold sweats. It was her again. Daisy was haunting him.
He glanced at his phone and saw an unread message.
‘Sebastian, I have something important to tell you. – Daisy’.
