The Ice-Cold Executive Gets A Wife Novel - Chapter 197
Chapter 197: I Prefer New Friends
“Raphael, do you think there’s still a chance between Sophia and Sebastian?” Olivia propped herself up and looked at the man lying next to her.
It was as if she was trying to make her problems more important to him. But she knew that Raphael had always taken her words seriously. They were fortunate. They got along at first sight. It was as if they had won the lottery. But her good friend Sophia did not seem to have such luck.
“There might be a chance, but it’s hard to say when. The two are too awkward. How long has it been? Anyone with a discerning eye could see that the two are still in a deadlock. No one knew what they were up to. Look at how fast I am. I’m going to end this quickly, don’t you think?” Raphael said as he kissed Olivia on the cheek.
“You’re the only one with a sharp tongue. But it’s not a big deal for them to act like this. I heard that Sebastian went to London with a childhood friend. Her name is Ellie, right. Did you know about this?” Olivia’s voice carried a hint of blame.
The light from the room’s ceiling glared in Raphael’s eyes. How should he answer this question? Tell her that he knew, he guessed. But ifhe told her that he didn’t know, it might seem that he didn’t care enough about Sophia. This was the task that Olivia had repeatedly instructed him to do.
“Who still likes childhood sweethearts now? It was all in the past. If it was before Sophia appeared, Sebastian might have liked Ellie. But didn’t you notice the way Sebastian looked at Sophia every time? Ellie is an old acquaintance from childhood.” Raphael narrowed his eyes as he propped himself up on the back of the bed, picked up the electronic cigarette on the bed, and started to smoke.
This was the result of Olivia’s compromise with him. He couldn’t smoke anymore, but she was the most lenient to him when he switched to the electronic cigarette.
“Sebastian’s old acquaintance, and also yours. You’re not helping your old acquaintance, are you?” Olivia reached into the quilt and pinched Raphael’s thigh.
Olivia was always straightforward. This was one of the things that Raphael liked about her. He had met too many girls, especially those at school. Who Did not know the Harris family? Raphael always felt that he was living with a tag.
As long as others knew that he was from the Harris family, they would either suck up to him or stay away from him. He could never tell who was true to him and who was not.
Raphael went to a private school when he was young, and his classmates always had intentions no other ordinary kids had. He was more of a resource than a handsome man to them. Everyone seemed to want something from him.
That was why he gave up staying in the country and went abroad to study art. He couldn’t stand it. He’d rather have no money, live in a shabby apartment, and dress like a hobo than be a Harris, and he didn’t care.
But Sebastian was different. He didn’t care that those people treated him as a resource. He was always watching them coldly in the crowd, wondering what they needed and were thinking, and then Ellie joined Sebastian in the boring game.
Raphael would never forget that the two often leaned against the wall when they waited for him after school, analyzing what they would say next when they saw the other kids.
Compared to Sophia and Sebastian, Raphael felt that Ellie and Sebastian were more like the same kind of people. However, what was the point of being together if they were the same kind of people?
“Ouch! It hurts! It hurts! It hurts! Stop! Stop pinching me,” Raphael shouted. Sometimes, women were not as strong as men, but they were still very accurate and ruthless when finding weaknesses. They could make you cry and beg for mercy with just a little ingenuity.
“Hey, hey, hey! What are you thinking about? Can you hear me talking to you?” Olivia shouted in the direction of Raphael’s ear.
The shock caused him pain, and his head buzzed, pulling him out of his thoughts.
“I heard you! I heard you! Compared to my old acquaintance, I prefer new friends like you. Don’t you know me? If you want me to go east, I won’t go west. I’m on your side. We’re both Team Sophia and Sebastian.”
Women were always right. Although Raphael had no principles, he knew this was the only principle he adhered to. As long as he knew this, he would not live too badly.
He turned over and pressed down on Olivia again.
“I heard that Sebastian will be back tomorrow. You have to perform well,” Olivia did not forget to remind him.
“Okay, okay, okay, I promise. But, I have to perform well now,” Raphael said..
