The Ice-Cold Executive Gets A Wife Novel - Chapter 190
Chapter 190: Their Secret
“Nothing happened,” Sebastian answered coldly.
“I heard it with my ears. You must have done something nasty. Otherwise, you wouldn’t have been so nervous when you came back that day,” Raphael realized that he had misspoken. The temperature at the table seemed to drop a few degrees.
Sophia looked at Sebastian, hoping to find out more from him.
Sebastian didn’t say anything. Instead, he lowered his head and focused on cutting his steak. He was expressionless.
So there was something between them? So she came back to look for Sebastian this time? Otherwise, why did he look so unhappy and gloomy? Was it because it was inappropriate for her to be here?
After all, they had come in arm in arm. It was evident that they had agreed to come back for dinner. Ellie was not an uninvited guest to him. Instead, Sophia felt that her presence had ruined their mood and the atmosphere at the dinner table.
If she had not come, what would they have said? What would they have done?
Ellie saw this, and she immediately knew Raphael was drunk. She could not help but sigh.
“Okay, Raphael, stop talking. Let’s not pick on the details. ” Ellie picked up the food and forced it into Raphael’s mouth. Raphael was caught off guard and coughed loudly.
“Look at you. You deserve it. You should eat more and talk less. It won’t kill you to talk less.” Anita laughed and chimed in.
Raphael quickly caught on and buried his head in his food.
He had drunk too much. How could he explain the three of them? He had picked at sore spots.
Sophia looked at Ellie. When the latter saw her gaze, she looked back at her naturally and smiled apologetically, as if she was the hostess and had not treated her well today.
“Well, anyway, let’s eat,” Ellie said as she picked up the food.
“You’re right. Let’s eat,” Sebastian agreed.
They even synced in words. Was it a tacit understanding formed when they were young? Sophia didn’t feel good.
“Well, I think it’s better this way,” Raphael said. It was the first time he obeyed Sebastian. It was more like he was obeying Ellie. Could this be Ellie’s charm?
The meal was very depressing. No one said anything, and the atmosphere was very strange.
Although Sophia was eating, she kept glancing at Sebastian. She didn’t know what to say, seeing that he was eating with his head down.
“Sebastian, do you have something bothering you? If you do, please tell me. Maybe I can help you,” Ellie asked.
Sebastian looked up at her but soon turned around and continued to eat as if Ellie’s words had no effect on him.
“Sebastian,” Ellie called him again, but he ignored her.
This time, Sophia suddenly said, “You guys carry on. I’m not feeling well, so I’m going to rest.’ Then, she stood up and walked out.
Seeing this, Ellie also stood up and wanted to help her. Sebastian put down his knife and fork and looked over as if he was ready to get up at any time.
“Let me do it.” Seeing this, Anita quickly got up and followed Sophia out.
Ellie and Sebastian looked at each other. Sebastian shrugged at her, indicating that he could do nothing.
Ellie sighed and went back to her seat.
Seeing the two leaving, Sebastian cursed them in his heart and then focused on the food in front of him.
“Sebastian, are you not going to tell me?” Ellie asked.
“Don’t worry about this. It’s none of your business,” Sebastian said coldly, as if he didn’t want to answer Ellie’s question.
Ellie shook her head helplessly. Sebastian was stubborn. She didn’t know when he would change his mind.
“I think it’s because of Sophia. You don’t want her to know about what happened between us,” Ellie said straightforwardly.
“I’ve said it before. You don’t have to meddle in my affairs, much less care about it.” Sebastian’s tone became colder as if he was talking to a stranger.
“Sebastian, if it’s for Sophia’s sake, you must tell her about our relationship. Otherwise, you’ll never get your mother’s approval,” Ellie said.
Sebastian stopped what he was doing and slowly closed his eyes.
There were no absolute secrets in this world. He believed in his mother’s capabilities. She would find out sooner or later, but not now. Most likely after they were closer with each other.
This was a responsibility to himself and also to Sophia..
