The Ice-Cold Executive Gets A Wife Novel - Chapter 185
Chapter 185: It Was Not Sophia
“It was you who slept with me that night, right?” Norman looked at Daisy and asked.
“That night? We slept together so many nights. Which night are you talking about?” Daisy knew the answer more or less, but she pretended not to understand, hoping she could get away with it.
“The night at Anita’s party.” Norman enunciated each word. “It was also the night I slept with you for the first time. Don’t you remember? When I saw this necklace, I remembered everything. Have you forgotten that I left a bite mark on your breast that made you cry out in pain when we were having sex? I remember everything.”
Norman looked very excited. He remembered that he was inexplicably ostracized and ridiculed because of Sophia, and now he realized it was all for something he didn’t do. He felt inexplicably angry.
“Oh? How come I don’t remember? Didn’t you sleep with Sophia that night?” Daisy asked.
Norman didn’t know if Daisy was playing dumb or if she didn’t remember. Was he mistaken?
He looked at the unique necklace in Daisy’s hand.
“You had someone fix this necklace, right? So why did you want to fix it?” Norman suddenly asked.
Daisy could not answer for a moment. She could not find an excuse. Then, she remembered that the necklace was next to the bed when she woke up the next day. So the chain might have broken because of throes of passion from the previous night.
Daisy did not remember much about that night. She did not know why Norman suddenly recalled it. Did he already know that he did not get Sophia pregnant?
“You mean, it wasn’t Sophia who slept with you that night but me?” Daisy asked tentatively. She wanted to hear Norman’s response.
“Yes, it was you,” Norman said firmly.
“Why are you so sure?” Daisy asked again.
“Sophia can’t remember anything, and I somehow became the father of her child. Don’t you think that’s very suspicious? When I saw the necklace, I was almost sure that you were the one who slept with me that night.”
“Even if it was me, so what? Sophia doesn’t want to have anything to do with you. It doesn’t matter to her whether you are the father of her child or not.”
“But, it matters to me!” Norman said agitatedly.
“Oh my god! How can you be so sure that you are right?” Daisy asked in surprise.
Norman sneered a few times and didn’t continue to speak.
“Okay, stop fooling around. I don’t want to fool around with you.” Daisy sized Norman up. “If you made this up to beg for my forgiveness, then I admit it worked. So, don’t bother. I forgive you.”
It seemed that his necklace had indeed caught Norman’s attention. He was sure that she was the person who had slept with him that night.
Daisy wasn’t sure if he had investigated Sophia.
Daisy’s expression changed slightly at the thought of this. If she was investigated about her relationship with Norman… Then, things would be troublesome. After a while, it would be very easy for the other party to find out who the real father of the child Sophia was carrying.
No, Daisy would never allow that to happen. It seemed that she couldn’t bluff anything out of Norman anymore. So she could only try something else.
Daisy suddenly felt nauseous. Something was surging up. She rushed to the toilet and threw up. After throwing up, Daisy felt better, but she still felt a kind of nauseous. Could it be that she ate something bad?
Daisy shook her head. It didn’t seem like it. She usually ate very lightly. Could it be that her stomach had been damaged because of her irregular schedule recently? Or could it be that her previous plan had worked?
“Are you okay? Do you want me to send you to the doctor?” Norman asked with concern. He was already distracted from the issue they were dwelling on earlier. He only wanted to know if there was anything wrong with Daisy vomiting like this.
“Nothing. Maybe I had something bad. I want to rest. You should leave now.” Daisy waved. She shouldn’t continue speaking with Norman. If she did, Norman might begin to suspect her. That would not be good.
“Oh,” Norman replied. Although he wanted to stay here to accompany Daisy, it was indeed not a good time to stay with her in her current condition. After all, if he had to take care of Daisy, he could not do it. They were only friends with benefits.
“I’ll take my leave now, then.” Norman stood up and turned around to walk to the door. He felt a
little relieved.
After confirming that Norman had left, Daisy closed the door. She looked at the pregnancy test in her hand. It showed the two lines she had been looking forward to for a long time. She smiled in satisfaction.
This time, she decided to take a big gamble..
