The Ice-Cold Executive Gets A Wife Novel - Chapter 163
Chapter 163: Handling It With Ease
Sophia couldn’t help but laugh coldly. She said slowly, “I thought you all forgot about me. I didn’t expect you to remember me still! You are thoughtful.”
Sophia’s voice was very gentle, but her eyes were cold.
Sophia had some scruples in NRTE. After all, it was her workplace, and she didn’t want Sebastian to be affected because of her.
But on campus, she didn’t care. She even wanted to vent all the grievances she had suffered in NRTE on these girls.
As soon as she said this, the girls were so scared that they felt their knees go weak.
They had only wanted to make a casual comment. Who would have thought that a pregnant lady would be so daring to confront them directly?
“Why… why are you back?” the girl asked tremblingly.
“Why do you think?” Sophia asked with a smile.
They only felt that Sophia’s smile was dangerous, and they couldn’t help but shiver.
“You… you…” the girl couldn’t speak. She kept trembling, and even her hands were shaking slightly.
“What’s so strange about me coming to the campus? Do I have to stay away? I’m still an intern, and I haven’t graduated yet. Can’t I come back for a visit even if I have?” Sophia asked.
“Yeah, the school isn’t run by someone’s family. It’s better than some people who can’t find an internship and can only stay in school!” Olivia was already backing Sophia up and adding her opinion promptly. The other girls turned pale.
Sophia made the girls speechless. They knew that no matter why Sophia came back this time, the coming days won’t be easier. They didn’t dare to say anything more and just trembled. “You seem to be afraid of me. Don’t be afraid. I’m just looking for a friend,” Sophia said softly.
“We’re not afraid!” The girls seemed to be encouraged, and they became louder.
“Really? Good.” Sophia smiled at them, rubbed her belly, and walked straight to the door.
She didn’t want to deal with this group of people for too long.
“Sophia, wait for me.” Phillips quickly followed her and shouted while chasing after her.
Sophia did not answer him and walked straight out of the door.
After leaving, the girls finally let out a long sigh of relief and slowly stood up. They continued to gossip in a low voice.
“That guy is from the math department. Did you notice his nervousness? Some people do have some tricks!” They did not dare to name names anymore.
Sophia did not return to the dormitory. Instead, she went to a park on the campus. She sat on a bench, closed her eyes, and enjoyed the sunlight on her skin.
Phillips followed Sophia. He did not say anything. He looked at Sophia resting her eyes as if she was enjoying herself. He could not bear to disturb her, and he did not say anything. Instead, he sat next to her, silently accompanying her, quietly looking at her.
He did not know a person who had such a peaceful side.
Sophia suddenly opened her eyes and looked up at Olivia and Phillips with a bright smile.
The two were worried.
“Look, the sun is so nice today. It’s warm. Don’t worry. I’m fine.”
“I’m worried about you,” Phillips said, “You’re not in a good situation now. If I knew this would happen, I wouldn’t have asked you to return. I didn’t expect the girls on campus to be no different from those people on the internet. I thought it would be better. I’m sorry.”
“Don’t worry. I won’t allow myself to be bullied by them. I want to be alone,” said Sophia. “No matter what, I, Sophia, won’t allow others to laugh at me.”
“Well, you’re right. I believe you can overcome all the difficulties.” Phillips looked at her and smiled. “I have something to ask you to help me with this time.”
Seeing the video on the internet, Phillips thought that those people could find Sophia’s company in a minute, and it would be much safer to stay on campus, so he racked his brain to invite Sophia over.
“What’s the matter?” Sophia asked in confusion.
“Look, this is a project I’ve been working on recently and some data I’ve collected, but I lack many data samples and cases.” Phillips handed a few documents to Sophia.
Sophia took them and casually flipped through the pages. They were all related to her finance knowledge. She did know how to help Phillips, but it would take at least a week to sort them all out. Phillips had always been very good to her when she was on campus. Now that she was doing her internship, and there was no need to go to the office every day, she could help him.
“Okay, I’ll think of something. I’ll go to the office and apply for a leave of absence,” Sophia agreed immediately.
Olivia did not say anything. It was good for Sophia to stay on campus. She could just stay away from the limelight. She found it hard to believe that Sophia would face so many problems in life, which made her worried..
