The Ice-Cold Executive Gets A Wife Novel - Chapter 143
Chapter 143: It’s The Same
Sebastian spent the next afternoon quietly watching Sophia. He found that Sophia was indeed competent. In the documents that she had sent him, he could see that she had begun to master preparing these documents. She noticed the details of each analysis. She did not even make a single mistake. This surprised him.
He did not expect this girl, Sophia, to have such rich academic qualities.
Sebastian could not help but sigh. This girl did not disappoint him. She had the potential in this aspect. The more Sebastian thought about it, the more excited he felt. The happier he was, the more he felt Sophia’s importance to him.
“Sophia, you didn’t disappoint me. No, you never did,” Sebastian said to himself as he looked at the party photo that Anita had posted in the family group on the computer screen.
He enlarged Sophia’s face and enlarged it even more. It was still flawless. He smiled, and his eyes were shining.
This girl was getting more interesting, Sebastian thought to himself. He was looking forward to the relationship between them, hoping that she would bring him a breath of fresh air.
Sebastian looked at his watch. It was getting closer to the end of the day. He didn’t know if Sophia was ready, so he stood up and walked out.
Sophia looked at Sebastian and couldn’t help but feel a little disappointed. She had planned to leave with Sebastian, but this guy was leaving first, making her feel a little regretful.
Sigh, what was the point of thinking about this? He was the CEO. There was no reason for him to work overtime with her. Besides, it was not like they were going the same way.
‘Wake up. Don’t bring in too many personal feelings when working. This is too unprofessional. Don’t think about him. Don’t think about him.’
She still had so much work to do. Sophia quickly turned around and went back to work. She couldn’t let her feelings delay her work.
“Miss Sophia, it’s time for dinner,” Phil stood a meter away and gently cleared his throat to remind her. He was not loud, but it was loud enough to be heard. He kept his distance and maintained his politeness. He was indeed a five-star chef.
Sebastian had told her to remind Sophia to eat every time it was time for dinner because, on the one hand, she was shy, and on the other hand, she often forgot about it when she was working.
Sophia looked up at Phil and said, “Okay, I’ll get ready now.” But she lowered her head and typed something on the keyboard.
“Miss Sophia…” Phil reminded her again.
Sophia stood up from the chair and smiled at Phil. “Thank you, Phil. I’ll be right there.”
“You don’t have to be so polite with me, Miss Sophia.” Phil smiled back and turned to walk back to his work area.
Phil’s cooking suited Sophia’s appetite as usual.
Oh no, she stayed at Anita’s for the weekend and had forgotten to bring the prenatal supplements.
She would probably take at least a few hours before she was done with work, so she had to ask David to send it over to her.
Right, she could only trouble her brother. Sophia quickly walked to her desk to get her phone. ‘Huh, why is no one picking up?’ Sophia dialed David’s number as she continued to be busy.
“Beep, beep, beep. Hello.” It was David’s voicemail, but no one picked up.
She called again, but still, no one picked up. Sophia thought it was a little strange.
Maybe he was busy. Forget it. She would leave a message for him. He would send it over if he saw the text.
‘Dave, why aren’t you picking up the phone? Can you help send the prenatal supplements that the hospital prescribed last time to me? It would be best if you could do it tonight. Thank you, Dave.’ She didn’t have time to press ‘send’.
“Is this what you need?” Sophia’s hand trembled as she was startled by a voice.
It was Sebastian.
When did he come back?
He was holding a big bag of things in his hand. Was it for her?
Seeing Sophia’s shocked expression, Sebastian’s mood improved. He handed the things in his hand to Sophia and asked lightly, “What’s wrong? Aren’t these the prenatal supplements you need?”
“Oh, how did you… I just remembered. I was about to ask my brother to send it to me,” Sophia took the things from Sebastian and said.
She didn’t expect Sebastian to remember.
She took a look into the bag and found that everything she needed was there. Did he go out just to get them for her? Sophia felt touched.
“So, am I your brother now?” Sebastian teased, but his tone was indifferent. In front of Sophia, he seemed to act like a naughty child.
“Bro is the same as a brother.” Sophia winked at him. “But, how did you know that I needed these?” Sophia looked at Sebastian, confused, and asked..
