The Ice-Cold Executive Gets A Wife Novel - Chapter 125
Chapter 125: Who Is Your Supervisor?
“Joe and Trisha are back. Let’s have dinner together.” Anita was facing the dining room entrance, so she saw Joseph and Trisha first.
“Oh, it’s so lively today. Sebastian is also having dinner with us.” Trisha looked at Joseph with a smile and said, “Sophia, it’s great that you’re here too!”
“Well, let’s have dinner together. Joseph and I haven’t had dinner with Sebastian since we started dating. Haha,” Trisha replied Anita after exchanging pleasantries.
She nodded at Joseph. Joseph and Trisha walked into the dining room together and sat down at the dining table.
Joseph looked at Trisha’s smiling face, and the love in his eyes increased. Joseph’s greatest happiness was always related to Trisha.
“Hello, Trisha. We meet again.” She glanced at Trisha’s belly, which was more evident than Sophia’s bulge.
Sophia thought of the room filled with pregnant women and baby supplies. It was no wonder.
Perhaps this was the difference between taking care of the baby in peace and working while caring for the baby.
Thinking of this, she looked at Trisha’s face more closely. Her face without makeup seemed to glow more than Olivia’s with makeup on.
Different people have different luck indeed.
But if Sophia asked herself, could she have been satisfied with life by having a baby and not working? No, she couldn’t. Although Sophia was envious, there was a voice in her heart that told her that she hoped that her value was in the career of the investment analyst that she dreamed of.
Thinking of this, she glanced at her ‘leader’ Sebastian. Unexpectedly, he also happened to meet her eyes.
Their eyes met, and their hearts were beating hard. She quickly averted her eyes guiltily. When she looked again, she found that Sebastian was still looking at her.
Sophia’s face gradually turned pink. She stabbed at the food on her plate a few times, but she failed several times because she was too embarrassed.
“Sophia, why do you look absent-minded today? Is the baby okay?” Trisha was sitting diagonally opposite Sophia, and Trisha saw her listless movements.
“It’s okay. The baby is quite well-behaved. It must know how to feel sorry for me. Recently, my morning sickness has eased a lot, but sometimes i still feel a little tired, and I always fall asleep.”
“It would be weird if you weren’t exhausted after having to work overtime!” Olivia couldn’t help but complain. In fact, part of that was meant for Sebastian.
“Really?” Trisha’s gaze moved to Sophia’s abdomen. “Sophia’s supervisor is something! Does that person not know how to delegate work appropriately to a pregnant woman? If it were up to me, I would have left work early, much less worked overtime! That person’s subordinates are unlucky!” Trisha thought about gathering everyone’s support. Together, they would crusade against this inhumane supervisor.
Sebastian did not say a word. Under such circumstances, he did not know if he should admit that it was him and allow Trisha to scold him or otherwise. His expression grew increasingly gloomy.
“It’s not that. I volunteered to work overtime.” Sophia wanted to try to defend Sebastian.
“You can’t do it voluntarily! I say your supervisor isn’t considerate enough. He doesn’t know how to be considerate to his employees. Treating pregnant women like this, this kind of company…” Ever since Trisha became a mother, the first thing she thought of was her baby. She couldn’t bear to think of any mishaps to her baby. She liked Sophia, and of course, she also hoped that Sophia’s baby could grow up healthily.
“Cough! Cough!” Although Anita thought it was fun to hear Trisha scold Sebastian if she continued, Sebastian might… so she tugged at Trisha’s hand, signaling her not to continue.
Raphael glanced at Olivia. The two could not hold back their laughter.
“Babe, you don’t have to worry about Sophia. Sophia, I heard that you’re interning at NRTE, right?” Joseph continued after receiving Sophia’s nod of approval. “Sebastian, talk to Sophia’s supervisor and ask him to give Sophia less work! Look at how worried your sister-in-law is!” Raphael’s face was already red from trying too hard to hold back his laughter.
“Right, right, right. Sebastian, go and talk to him! Right, Sophia, what’s your supervisor’s name? Tell Sebastian to coordinate with your supervisor when he goes to work on Monday.” Trisha wanted to do her part to help Sophia. Moreover, the CEO of NRTE was sitting at this table. What was there to be embarrassed about?
“There is no need. I’m getting along just fine with him. I am the one who wants to learn more.” Sophia quickly continued to find excuses for Sebastian. She was telling the truth. She never blamed Sebastian for making her work overtime. It was she who wanted to become a better person and achieve her life goals.
“What’s his name? Did he bully you? You don’t have to be afraid to say it. We are all friends among friends if we can sit together!” Trisha was still unwilling to let go.
“Ahem! Trisha…” Anita wanted to hint her.
“Sophia’s supervisor who doesn’t know how to care for his employees is called Sebastian,” Sebastian said coldly..
