The Ice-Cold Executive Gets A Wife Novel - Chapter 112
Chapter 112: I Think I Like Him
The pregnancy books stated that the first three months of pregnancy were the most crucial, so she had to be careful. However, she had to work overtime last night. The baby wouldn’t have any problems because she was overworked and in a bad mood yesterday, right?
“Ah, Sophia, are you okay? Quick, let’s go to the hospital!” Laura quickly helped Sophia up.
They went to the hospital to get an ultrasound. The doctor’s words assured Sophia and Laura. The baby was fine, so there was no need to worry too much.
The doctor said, “I’ll prescribe some supplement pills for you. Twice a day, a total of four bottles.”
“Thank you, doctor. I’ll take it on time.” Sophia was relieved, but she did not see Laura standing beside her, frowning.
“Your body is your own. Don’t overwork,” the doctor reminded her before he left. Women nowadays really did not pay attention to their health.
Sophia got the supplement pills, and Laura bought some additional supplements. Then they returned home.
“Sophia, go rest. David bought half a chicken. I will make some chicken soup for you. This chicken soup is very nutritious and very healthy for your baby. I will make it for you now,” Laura said with concern; she was not only worried about Sophia but also about the baby.
“Okay, thank you, Mom,” Sophia said obediently.
David, her brother, rushed back immediately after receiving a call from his mother.
“Sophia, rest here. I’ll send the soup to your room right away,” David Said and left. Sophia saw her brother leaving and felt very relieved. As long as her brother was by her side, she was not afraid of anything. As she still had family, she felt warm and very happy.
Everything went very smoothly. Laura quickly made the soup. David gave the soup to Sophia and told her to drink it while it was hot. After Sophia drank it, she felt much better. Sophia thanked David. David smiled and turned to leave.
“Don’t tell your father about Sophia for now. He is impatient. Who knows what he will do,” Laura told David. “I think it’s safer to bring Sophia to the hospital for the next few days to be safe.”
“I know, Mom. Don’t worry. I’ll take good care of her.”
“Okay.” Laura nodded.
“Is Sophia at home?”
“Who is it? Oh, it’s Olivia. Come in. Sophia is resting in her room.” Laura liked Sophia, a quirky and passionate friend.
Seeing Olivia walking toward Sophia’s room, Laura thought of something and stopped her, “Help me persuade Sophia. She often works overtime in the new company. I’m afraid that her body can’t take it. She’s still pregnant.’
“Okay, ma’am. Don’t worry,” Olivia said with a smile. She knew that Sophia was home this week, so she was thrilled.
Olivia pushed the door open and entered Sophia’s bedroom.
Sophia was resting on the bed, her eyes closed to rest. When she saw Olivia come in, she smiled brightly.
“How are you so free to visit me?”
“Am I not welcomed?” Olivia pretended to be unhappy. “Or am I interrupting your rest?” “Of course not. I’m just surprised. When did you arrive? Why didn’t you tell me in advance?”
“I’ve been busy this week. I thought you would have a weekend off, so I couldn’t wait to see you today. You look exhausted. Are you feeling unwell? Is the baby okay?”
“I’m fine. I’ll be fine after some rest.”
“Look at you working so late last night. I say, for the baby in your belly, you’d better stop working so hard. Forget about working overtime. I don’t even want you to go to work anymore!” Olivia used her hand to gently push back the loose strands of hair that had fallen from Sophia’s forehead. She wanted to make her look more energetic. “By the way, did Norman look for you yesterday?”
How did Olivia know?
Sophia did not ask, but Olivia continued, “I don’t know where he got my phone number from, but he kept bugging me for your address, saying he wanted to apologize. I saw that he was quite sincere, so I told him that you were working overtime.”
So, that was it. When she heard Norman’s name, Sophia seemed upset.
“Olivia, don’t talk to this person anymore.”
“Okay, I won’t.” As she said that, Olivia immediately blocked the number.
“There’s something I have to tell you.” Hearing that, Olivia’s ears perked.
“You’ve met Anita’s second brother, right?” Sophia didn’t want to mention his name.
“Sebastian, that handsome guy. How could I forget?”
“What if I told you that he’s with Daisy? What do you think?”
“What? He and Daisy? That’s impossible. Daisy isn’t as good-looking as you!” In Olivia’s eyes, Sophia had always been the best-looking person.
“I think I like him.” If she didn’t tell someone this secret, she would probably suffocate. If she had to, Olivia would be the first person she would tell..
