Laura and Carl had no idea how long Sophia had been standing behind them. If she had known they would stop her from going to work, she would have fought back.

Carl had been adamant, but he realized how much his daughter was like him when he saw Sophia. Now was not the time to bring it up; Sophia needed to be patiently convinced. Only when she understood that going to work was not good would she stay at home obediently.

“Sophia, you’re awake! Are you hungry? What do you want to eat? I’ll make it for you.” David broke the silence.

“Thank you, David. I don’t feel like eating, so no thanks,” Sophia said.

“You can’t not eat even if you don’t feel like eating. I know you don’t feel like having greasy food when you are pregnant. Since you don’t want to eat I’ll make you a bowl of chicken noodle soup,” David volunteered.

Ever since he found out that Sophia was pregnant, he had tried to find out everything he needed to know about pregnant women.

A few days ago, he had read that chicken noodle soup was good. It was not greasy and was very nutritious. When he got off work, he had been busy in the kitchen preparing it for a few days. He had failed a few times before he finally achieved something. He was waiting for his sister to come home to make some for her on the weekend to surprise her.

“David, I don’t feel like eating. You’d better not make it. I’m not hungry.” From what Sophia knew, David had never cooked before. Her brother once said that the kitchen was not a man’s place. He could buy whatever he wanted to eat.

It was not that she was not hungry, but she did not believe in her brother David’s cooking skills.

“No. How can you not eat? If you don’t eat, how can you have the energy? It’s not good for the baby. Don’t worry. I will fix one for you soon,” David said as he walked out of the living room.

Sophia looked at David leaving and felt touched. Even when she came back in the middle of the night yesterday, her brother did not blame her when he opened the door and had asked her to rest early. It was good that her brother always took care of her, worry about her, and loved her.

Sophia saw David enter the kitchen and followed him in to watch. Although David was big and burly, he moved around nimbly today. Soon, he came to the living room with a bowl. There was a sofa here, so Sophia could sit comfortably.

The noodles were sunken at the bottom of the bowl. A few pieces of chicken were on top of the noodles. There was a thin layer of fat in the soup, giving off a delicious golden color.

Sophia smelled a strong fragrance. She felt her stomach rumble after seeing and smelling the food. David looked at her and smiled. In front of her family, she did not feel embarrassed at all.

“Sophia, what do you think about the chicken soup noodles? Delicious, right?” David looked at Sophia and asked.

“Yes!” Sophia showed a sincere and grateful smile and said, “David, you are amazing.”

“Haha… Of course, but you have to drink more chicken soup. It’s good for you.” As long as Sophia liked it, his efforts were not in vain over the past few days!

Sophia took a big sip of the chicken soup. It was indeed delicious. She could not help but praise it again. “Mmm! It’s yummy, David. It’s delicious. You eat more too.” Sophia finished eating a few more pieces of chicken.

David smiled and looked at his sister as if he wanted to see her finish the bowl of chicken noodles. Sophia did not expect David to know how to cook. Although it was a simple dish, it had a unique flavor.

When Sophia saw her brother’s happy and satisfied look, and she felt delighted, too. Her heart was full of warmth. It was nice to have a family.

Sophia suddenly had some doubts. Should she go to work or not? In fact, her father’s company was doing well. As the youngest child in the family, she had always been the most favored. Wasn’t it better to enjoy the warmth and care of the family at home than to go to work?
