The Ice-Cold Executive Gets A Wife Novel - Chapter 103
Chapter 103: We Are Just Classmates
Sophia sat in the car. The seats in the sports car weren’t comfortable for a pregnant woman.
Norman’s thoughtfulness was always superficial. He didn’t think ahead.
But at the moment, she didn’t care. She only wanted to stay away from Sebastian and Daisy.
‘Don’t think about it.’ She closed her eyes.
It didn’t take long for her to realize that she didn’t tell Norman where she wanted to go, but Norman kept driving.
“Where are we going now?” Sophia asked.
“We’re going to my place,” Norman replied.
“No, I’m going to my place. I’m going to rest. I don’t want to be with anyone right now.” After saying that, she closed her eyes again. Sophia was a little tired from working overtime. She had even forgotten to tell Norman where her new place was.
Norman didn’t say anything. Instead, he hit the gas even harder. He drove very fast.
Sophia felt a little dizzy, but she didn’t fight back. She didn’t want Norman to see the look on her face.
She was still upset because she had just seen Sebastian and Daisy together.
The car sped away. The scenery outside the car window flashed by and disappeared rapidly. “Sophia, I can send you to your place, but I have something to say to you now.”
He slammed on the brakes, and Sophia was startled out of her calm from the inertia. The car stopped in an empty place.
“I said I’m tired, and I need to rest. If you have something to say, say it. I have to get up early tomorrow.” Sophia didn’t open her eyes.
“I won’t take up too much of your time. I only need a few minutes.”
“Okay, I’ll give you a few minutes.” Sophia thought to herself. She was already in the car, so she didn’t need a few minutes.
Although Norman was a bit of a playboy, he was still a good man.
He deliberately chose such a deserted place because he didn’t have a place to go and didn’t want to be disturbed.
Norman got out of the car after the car finally came to a complete stop, and the engine stopped.
Sophia slowly got up from her seat.
“Sophia, I think you must be exhausted. I’ll make it short.” Norman was a little hesitant. He was not as free and easy as he used to be.
It was not difficult to imagine getting Sophia pregnant and then abandoning her alongside his reputation of a ‘no-good’ guy had not made his life any easier.
Sophia stood quite far away. From this distance, she was somewhat resistant to Norman being near.
“Sophia, you don’t have to be so wary of me. You’re pregnant now, and I have a fiancée. We should keep some distance,” Norman said.
“But…” he paused at this point. He was waiting for Sophia’s reaction.
Sophia didn’t answer.
“You know, Sophia, I feel very guilty toward you now. I told my father that I would pay any price as long as I could help you. But now seeing you sad, I’m also very sad,” Norman said. “I drank too much that night and was too impulsive. I didn’t know that I would hurt you.”
Norman seemed to have forgotten that he had suggested that Sophia abort the child.
“No, you’re wrong, Norman. This has nothing to do with you. I drank too much too.” Seeing how sincere Norman was, Sophia slowly believed that he was apologizing to her. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have waited for her at NRTE in the middle of the night.
Sophia didn’t think that being pregnant had harmed her. Although she panicked on the first day, she was very grateful about having this surprise baby.
This baby was growing in her body. She could feel the changes in the baby. It was a magical feeling, like the power of the magical nature.
Every day when she woke up, she touched her belly and felt unprecedentedly happy and at ease.
“It’s not your fault; it’s our fault.” Norman shook his head.
“It was.” It was not that Sophia did not want to marry Norman, but Norman’s denial and all the things he did after that made Sophia feel that he was too irresponsible, and she did not want to have anything to do with him anymore.
She said firmly, “Don’t worry. You don’t have to be responsible for the baby. I have nothing to do with you now. We are just classmates.”
“Classmates,” Norman repeated.
“Yes, just classmates, that’s all. Don’t think about it anymore. Even when the baby is born, I won’t trouble you with anything.” Sophia was very decisive. She didn’t want the child to have any relationship with an irresponsible father like Norman in the future.
“Weren’t we always close? We were much better than just classmates. I know it was my fault. Don’t be angry, okay? I will be more mindful in the future, and I will make it up to you.” Norman sounded sincere.
“You want to make it up to me? I don’t care. I want to work hard and earn money to support myself. I don’t want to think about the rest.”
Sophia felt that this conversation was supposed to end long ago. She was getting impatient and was about to walk to the car door..
