The Death List Novel - Chapter 5
Chapter 5 Goodbye, Shuang Mei
Seeing that Qin Lun didn’t approach, the strangely dressed prisoner heaved a sigh of relief. However, the strange expression on Lin Feng’s face immediately made him realize something. She turned her head stiffly and looked behind her.
“Ah!” Looking at the sharp-eyed disciple Hansen, the prisoner only screamed for a moment before covering his mouth with both hands and swallowing it.
The prisoner’s throat twitched twice. He swallowed a mouthful of saliva, rolled his eyes, and stood up trembling. He shrunk his neck and stood beside Hansen, as if he was at the mercy of a monarch.
Hansen narrowed his eyes when he saw the “human demon” beside him respectful to him. He raised his head and took a deep look at Qin Lun. “What’s your name? Who are the two people on the other side?” He asked calmly as he placed his big hand on the slender back of the human demon’s neck.
“Boss Hansen, just call me ‘Lily’!” Lily forced a smile and threw a charming glance at Hansen. She twisted her water snake-like waist and shrank behind Hansen. She looked at Qin Lun with some fear. “The two on the other side, they don’t know each other in suits. The other one is Joey Foster the Splitter!”
“That abnormal murderer from China!” The disciple’s pupils constricted as he swept his gaze over Qin Lun, who was lying on the railing and looking towards the patio. He carefully took two steps back and whispered, “Let’s go!”
Seeing his disciple Hansen leading Lily to the other end, Lin Feng quietly looked at Qin Lun, who was standing beside the railing, and gently wanted to catch up with the two of them.
He and Lily thought the same. Qin Lun and Hansen were both murderers. However, disciples were professional killers, and killing people was for money. Even if their temperament was brutal, there was still a reason to do so.
According to the rumors, Qin Lun was a psychopath with schizophrenia. He didn’t need a reason to kill, and his temperament was unfathomable. It was too dangerous to follow such a person.
“Let’s go this way!”
Just as Lin Feng took a step forward, he placed a fair palm on his shoulder. He turned around and saw Qin Lun smiling at him.
“Good, good!” The eldest young master of an aristocratic family trembled as his hair stood upright. His back was chilly, and he immediately shrunk his head and smiled bitterly.
Walking down from the third floor of the cell area, one could see that the doors on each floor were partly distorted, apparently damaged by the shock just now. Looking through the cracks, the arrangement of these cells was very similar to that of Qin Lun’s cell, except that some cells had upper and lower bunks and were not single rooms.
From the looks of it, there were at least a hundred people in the hundreds of cells here. However, from what Qin Lun had just observed, there seemed to be only a dozen or so prisoners who survived. In other words, there were no more than ten living people in this “prison”.
By the time Qin Lun brought Lin Feng down to the bottom patio of the cell area, the entire cell area was basically empty. They were on the top floor, and with Qin Lun watching as he walked, the other escaped prisoners had already run out of the cell area before him, and even their disciple Hansen and the demon Lily had disappeared without a trace.
Standing in the middle of the patio, Qin Lun Yi raised her head proudly, took a deep breath, and then slowly exhaled.
“Where are we?” After enjoying the fresh air for a long time, Qin Lun lowered his head to look at Lin Feng.
“The primeval forest of the Great Xing’an Mountains in Huaxia District belongs to the 91 District Base of the Federation Army.” Lin Feng carefully replied.
“Primeval forest?” Qin Lun’s eyes lit up and he asked with interest, “Is it a human experimental base?”
“It can be said that it is, or it can be said that it is not!” Lin Feng frowned slightly. His father was a high-ranking military officer of the base, and he often visited District 91 himself. He knew the inside story of District 91 very well.
However, he still hadn’t thought about telling Qin Lun the whole story. This wasn’t because Lin Feng had decided to guard the country’s secrets, but because he was worried that the murderer would kill him immediately after learning the whole story.
Lin Feng’s mind raced as he muttered to himself. He was just about to perfunctorily say a few words when he raised his head to find Qin Lun looking at him with a faint smile on his face. A pair of bright eyes seemed to have seen through everything.
The young master of the aristocratic family secretly shuddered. Judging from the situation just now, not a single living person remained in the 91 District Base. Moreover, all of the particle guns in the hands of those federal soldiers were ineffective. No matter how the situation evolved, the 91 District Base would probably not be able to control the situation in a short period of time.
Sooner or later, Qin Lun would understand the real situation here. If he was vague now and didn’t give a clear explanation, then the outcome would probably be even more miserable.
Thinking of this, Lin Feng didn’t dare to perfunctory Qin Lun any longer, telling him everything he knew, including the biggest secret of using death row prisoners to teleport through space and time.
“Space-time teleportation?” Qin Lun was slightly stunned. Obviously, this answer was somewhat unexpected. He glanced at Lin Feng indifferently and then lowered his head to play with the black dagger in his hand. His gaze flickered as he did not know what he was thinking.
“Take me to the infirmary here!” After a while, Qin Lun finally broke the silence.
“Infirmary?” This time, Lin Feng was a little stunned. He had originally thought that the murderer would use him as a hostage to find the exit of the base and escape from the base as soon as possible. I didn’t expect that they would ask to go to the infirmary first. They weren’t injured.
However, Lin Feng quickly remembered Qin Lun’s nickname “Decomposer”. His face immediately turned pale, and his feet softened. He collapsed to the ground.
“Don’t worry!” Qin Lun seemed to know what Lin Feng was thinking. He smiled and comforted, “I’m Qin Lun, not Joey Foster. I won’t hurt you. The other prisoners have probably gone to the cafeteria. Let’s go find some medicine first. Outside the base is a primeval forest. Maybe someone will get hurt.”
Lin Feng looked at Qin Lun’s clear gaze and calmed down. He stood up trembling and waited for his mood to calm down a little. He carefully asked, “Shall we go to the canteen to find some food as well?”
“Haha, they’re not looking for food, they’re looking for weapons!” Qin Lun looked at Lin Feng meaningfully. “Now that there has been an accident at the base, modern weapons have lost their usefulness. If there is a fight between the two sides, I’m afraid that knives and forks are more effective than particle guns!”
Lin Feng suddenly realized that the prisoners in the base were all death row prisoners. Now that they had such a good chance to escape, they naturally wouldn’t sit idly by and wait for their deaths. Before they rushed out of the base, they still had a fight with the surviving federal guards. The first thought they had after leaving the cell was to find a weapon.
Basically, the death row inmates in District 91 were all fed synthetic food. However, the researchers and higher-ups of the base would not eat synthetic food as well. There must be a large number of knives in the canteen, and there would even be liquor that could be made into incendiary bottles.
In this way, the first target of those on death row would be the cafeteria, and the infirmary would have scalpels as well. However, these scalpel knives were too pocket-sized for death row inmates. Without a large knife, it would be better to use something like an iron rod as a weapon.
Thinking about this, Lin Feng felt regret in his heart and became even more nervous. Although he had never witnessed the violent movements of the prison, under such circumstances, if the prisoners were unable to forcefully charge out of the base. The second option would probably be to find a hostage and negotiate with the Federation, and he was clearly the best hostage.
“When we get to the infirmary, I’ll let you go!” Qin Lun said gently again. He had clearly seen through Lin Feng’s thoughts.
“Will you really let me go?” Lin Feng said in fear.
“I told you, I’m Qin Lun, not Joey the Killer!” Qin Lun helplessly spread out his hands, “When we get to the infirmary, you can find a prison uniform and hide. I can’t protect you in front of so many death row inmates!”
…
The infirmary was the most frequently visited place for death row inmates. Perhaps it was for the convenience of escorting them, and the infirmary in the base was very close to the cell area. The two of them were on the same floor. They walked through two empty corridors from the patio in the cell area and arrived at the door of the infirmary.
“Yi, it’s locked!” Lin Feng pulled the door of the infirmary and said in surprise.
“Break it!” Qin Lun raised his eyebrows and gestured at Lin Feng.
“Bang!” With a bitter face, Lin Feng took two steps back and slammed his shoulders.
“Ah (ah)!” The pain coming from his shoulder made the young master cry out in pain. He felt as if his shoulder blades had split open. However, strangely enough, a scream could be heard from the other end of the door of the infirmary.
“There are others inside?” Lin Feng hugged his shoulders and looked into the door in surprise.
Young Master Lin had just poked his head into the room when he saw a bright scalpel stabbing towards his face. He was so frightened that his soul flew into the sky and froze in place. However, Lin Feng immediately felt his back collar tighten. He was forcefully pulled, and he couldn’t help but sit on the ground, dodging the calamity of being disfigured.
Qin Lun glanced at the pale Lin Feng and ignored him. He raised his head and looked indoors. Looking at the two familiar figures in the infirmary, one tall and one short, the corners of his mouth curled up slightly and he revealed a smile.
‘”Bastard, you” Lin Feng, who was sitting on the corridor, also regained his senses. He didn’t see who was inside the room. He only knew that the other party was wearing a white coat and wasn’t the other prisoner he had originally estimated. His heart immediately burst with rage. He clenched his fists and jumped into the infirmary.
Ever since the accident at the base, Young Master Lin had been under the hands of the Killer Demon. At this time, all of his suppressed emotions erupted towards his own people. However, when he saw the two figures in the room, he was stunned.
The two white coats in the room, one with a gigantic child’s face and breast, and the other with an ice-clear and clean skin, were actually rare beauties. These two beauties were naturally the nurse Xiaolian and the chief doctor Hu Fei whom Qin Lun had seen before.
“Hurry up and come in. Don’t let them find out!” Looking at the two living people outside the door, Little Lotus curled her lips and revealed a trace of anxiety on her chubby round face. It was as if she could not see clearly that one of the two people was a death row murderer.
“What?” Just as Lin Feng was about to question him, he was stunned for a moment, but he suddenly felt a strong force coming from behind him and was pushed into the infirmary by Qin Lun.
“Bang!” After Qin Lun pushed Lin Feng into the infirmary, he immediately pulled the door of the infirmary and a strange light flashed in his eyes. Unlike Lin Feng, when he cried out in shock in Xiaolian, the corner of his eyes had already seen a few figures slowly walking towards him from the corridor corner.
“Interesting!” Qin Lun’s lips curled into a smile as he remembered the stiff and awkward postures of the few people who were walking just now. Their heads were tilted to the side at a strange angle. They didn’t look like a living person at all.
