The Death List Novel - Chapter 259
Chapter 259 Mina’s Gift
“Mina, hand over the necklace around your neck to Grandpa Priest!” Karu turned around and squatted in front of the girl in brocade clothes and said kindly.
“Grandpa Priest, Dad said that this necklace can’t be given to anyone else!” The girl in brocade pouted and said unhappily.
“Mina, be obedient! When everyone is safe, Grandpa Priest will buy you a lot more necklaces!” A hint of guilt flashed through Karu’s eyes as he spread out his hand towards the girl.
“Alright then!” The girl in brocade looked up at Qin Lun, her large, watery eyes revealing a trace of helplessness. Her small, fleshy hand took off the necklace and handed it to Karu. Even though she used to be well-dressed and spoiled in the past, she had lived in this ruined city for more than two years, and now she had learned to endure and obey.
“Who is she?” Qin Lun glanced at Mina and took the necklace that Karu had handed him. It was a toy necklace made of a red rope. The pendant was a triangular pyramid with some small uneven particles on its surface. However, he could not see anything unusual. This was an ordinary accessory, neither an apostle’s equipment nor a special treasure.
“Mina is the princess of our Anka tribe. Her father is the patriarch of the Anka tribe, and he is also a high-ranking apostle!” Kalu touched Mina’s head, a trace of kindness appearing on his face. Although he wasn’t Mina’s biological grandfather, after more than two years of being dependent on each other, he was somewhat affectionate.
Hearing Karu’s words, Qin Lun narrowed his eyes slightly, his gaze carrying a trace of danger. He said indifferently, “We apostles cannot leave behind descendants …”
“Lord Qin Lun, you misunderstood!” ‘”Mina’s father was different. He was originally an Atlantean. But a few years ago, a Lord of the Wheel of Heaven remembered his contribution to the Wheel of Heaven. It took a lot of effort to make him a saint. Before that, Mina had already been born!” Kalu said with a smile.
“Oh! That makes sense!” Qin Lun’s expression softened slightly as he picked up the pyramid-shaped pendant with his two fingers and asked, “Then … what is this?”
“This is a key. It can open a secret room in the fortress!” Kalu hesitated for a moment. He took two steps forward and leaned over to Qin Lun. “Mina’s father is one of the top managers of the Wheel of Heaven branch. That secret room is his private warehouse,” he whispered.
“How do you know it’s not empty?” Qin Lun glanced at Kalu indifferently.
“Mina’s father did not leave the Holy City with the Wheel of Heaven. He died in battle for the Anka Tribe. Before he died, he gave Mina this key. I believe it will definitely not be empty. There will definitely be something you need!” Karu said meaningfully.
“Alright, then take me to take a look!” Qin Lun smiled faintly. He had just taken two steps when he stopped. He turned around and looked at the girl in brocade clothes. “Bring her along too!”
‘”This” Kalu’s face turned pale. He looked at the young girl and hesitated. Then, he gritted his teeth and turned to the black-haired youth beside him. “Don, hug Mina and follow me and Master!”
Now, it was too late for him to regret it. Since he had made a choice, he could only walk all the way to the darkness. The black-haired youth looked at Ames and the others. Seeing that the other priests had ugly expressions, but did not express any objection, he squatted down and picked up the girl, following Qin Lun and Karu.
“Elder Kalu … be careful!” Ames looked at the back of the group, his gaze darkened, and he instructed them softly behind him.
Karu paused, sighed softly, and walked out of the warehouse without looking back.
Qin Lun walked to the door with the three of them. He suddenly turned around and smiled. “Elder Amris, I don’t like to be cheated. All of you should be in this warehouse, right?” He said.
“You … yes, there are only us left in the base!” Anlis was slightly stunned as he hurriedly replied.
“That’s good. There are still 131 people in the warehouse. When I return, if I discover that there is one missing or additional person here, then it can’t be counted as me breaking my promise. I hope you can understand!” Qin Lun said indifferently.
“Don’t worry, no one will take another step out of here before you return. Please abide by the contract with Elder Karu!” Ames bowed deeply to Qin Lun, his body bent down, as if he had aged more than ten years in an instant.
After leaving the warehouse, Kalu led the way with a flashlight, while Qin Lun and the black-haired youth with Mina followed behind silently. The group quickly entered the deepest part of the fortress.
About twenty minutes later, Kalu brought Qin Lun and the others to a steel wall. This place happened to be at the corner of the two passageways. On the surface, it looked like an iron wall.
“Lord Qin Lun, please give me the key!” Kalu took the necklace from Qin Lun and squatted in front of the wall. After a while, he pulled the triangular pyramid pendant off the necklace and pressed it on a screw button.
Qin Lun looked closely and found that the screw button was somewhat unique. It had a concave surface, which allowed the triangular pyramid pendant to fit into it.
“Kakaka!” After Kalu slowly rotated the pendant for a while, the sound of a mechanism could be heard from within the iron wall. The steel wall quietly slid open, revealing a huge door that was four meters wide and five meters tall.
Qin Lun only glanced at the things inside the door and slowly raised his eyebrows. An incredulous expression appeared on his face. As for Karu and the black-haired youth Tang, they were shocked and their expressions slowly changed.
Inside the door was a small hangar. Apart from an old exoskeletal engineering mecha, the hangar was empty and empty.
“How could this be? Why is there only this thing here? How could Mina’s father only leave her a tattered mecha!” Karu’s face was ashen as he murmured to himself. He quickly ran into the door and anxiously searched everywhere without looking at the exoskeleton mecha in the center of the hangar.
For the Atlanteans, this type of engineering mecha was the lowest-grade armed mecha. Not to mention the apostles, even ordinary Atlanteans could smash it into pieces with laser rifles. This type of exoskeletal mecha was generally only used for repairing other advanced mechas and heavy machinery.
“Let’s go in and take a look!” Qin Lun turned his head to look at the black-haired youth. After he hesitated and walked into the hangar, he slowly followed behind and walked into the hangar. After entering the hangar, Qin Lun ignored Kalu who had fallen into a semi-crazy state. He just held his hands behind his back and expressionlessly looked up at the exoskeleton mecha.
“How could this be? Patriarch, you’ve killed us!” The hangar was empty and white, and he could almost see it clearly with a single glance. After Kalu turned around twice, his eyes finally regained their clarity, and he muttered to himself with trembling lips.
“Haha, Mina’s father is really a smart man!” Just as Karu and Tang were trembling, Qin Lun let out a burst of laughter. He looked at the exoskeletal mecha and gently praised, “Karu, your eyes are dizzy. Take another look at this engineering mecha. It’s an exquisite treasure!”
‘”Treasure? Lord Qin Lun, you mean this mecha” Karu suddenly raised his head. Qin Lun’s words reminded him of a possibility, but he still couldn’t believe it in his heart.
“You’re right! This mecha is made from equipment materials that can only be exchanged by apostles from top to bottom. It’s a very special apostle equipment!”
Qin Lun looked at the exoskeletal mecha and turned to the black-haired youth. “You’re more familiar with this exoskeletal mecha. How much does it weigh?”
‘”This type of mecha is usually around 3,000 Ankaras. However, it is made from Saint equipment materials. It seems that there are some parts inside that are even more precious heavy metals. I’m afraid it’s even heavier. I wonder how heavy it is!” The black-haired youth put down Mina, his expression revealing a trace of fanaticism. His eyes were blurred as he reached out to stroke the exoskeletal mecha, as if he was facing his beloved lover.
“Is it a gift from Dad to Mina?” Mina closed her eyes and leaned against the mech. A smile appeared on her face, as if she could smell her father’s familiar scent on the ice-cold steel giant.
“3000 Ankara?” Qin Lun quickly exchanged Atlantis’ measurements on the death list, and a trace of astonishment appeared on his face. “More than two tons … more than two tons of apostle equipment materials …”
Even with Qin Lun’s city, he sighed in his heart. Atlantis’ system of apostleship was not useless. At the very least, it was unique in the integration and utilization of resources.
A large apostle team at the Horn of Devils might be able to gather so many apostle resources, but the problem was that this mech could only be used by one apostle! Which large apostolic guild would dare to waste apostolic resources like this? Even the leader of a large guild wouldn’t have built such a mecha for him!
Two tons of apostle equipment! Qin Lun didn’t know how to react and couldn’t help but laugh bitterly in his heart.
The death list couldn’t show the quality of the mecha, but from Kieran’s perspective, most of the mecha’s materials were blue and purple, and some of its core components were dark gold. The amount of materials used would probably not be less than a million broken crystals, which was basically the value of two legendary items.
Unfortunately, no apostle could take the mech away unless it was torn down. Not to mention that everyone’s storage space was sealed off, even if it was open, it couldn’t be put inside. Only the guild warehouses of some large guilds could put this thing down.
What a pity! Qin Lun couldn’t help but sigh. If this mecha could be taken away or hidden, he was even willing to give up his original plan.
The mecha represented the highest technology of the Atlanteans, and the apostle equipment represented wealth. Mina’s father had left behind such a relic for his daughter, probably to prepare for the resurgence of the Anka tribe.
What a pity! Qin Lun glanced at the mecha once more and turned around. He said to the distracted black-haired youth, “This mecha should be able to activate. You go up and follow us in the mecha!”
“Me?! Yes, it’s … okay!” A hint of surprise flashed through Tang’s eyes as he hurriedly picked up Mina and climbed into the cockpit of the mech.
“Lord Qin Lun, since this mecha … then our contract is still valid!” Karu rubbed his hands and looked at Qin Lun awkwardly.
“Of course, there’s only one last question left!” Qin Lun narrowed his eyes and turned around with a smile.
