The Death List Novel - Chapter 166
Chapter 166 Big Bang
The sound of hurried footsteps came from the silent door of the carriage.
“Damn it, it’s too late!” Dean David’s gaze crossed the gap without the door and saw the corpses of the Allies all over the carriage. The old man carefully walked into the carriage with the unconscious Leo under his arm.
Leo had regained his normal size. Although his interception had filled Director David’s heart with anger, the old man still restrained his hatred and did not choose to kill the patriot.
“Eh, this is” Dean David’s gaze was quickly attracted by a female corpse in the carriage.
“Gerthard!” He immediately noticed the blood words on the female corpse’s hand. The needle in his pupils suddenly jumped, and furious flames filled the old man’s chest. “He actually broke his promise, deceiving … such a person …”
David’s teeth creaked. In more than a hundred years of his life, he had never been so angry with an enemy. The old man hesitated for a moment. Then, his palm pointed like a knife and stabbed into the metal floor. He cut the iron piece with the word blood written on it and held it in his hand.
Leaving the carriage, Dean David pointed lightly at the top of the cannon and pounced on the next carriage. The moment he crossed the huge train cannon, Mo Ming’s uneasiness arose in the powerful Vector King’s heart, as if he had fallen into some kind of deadly trap.
Until Dean David entered the scientist’s carriage, he was still unable to meet the devil-like German sniper.
“Principal, you’re back?” The fairy-tale girls gathered around the old man, and as Dean David stepped into the carriage, Indiana Jones also stepped into the carriage.
“You guys … are the battles over?” When Dean David saw Dr. Jones, the unease in his heart reached its peak.
“Yes, the Germans have retreated. We must protect the scientists immediately. I think they will detonate the train soon!” Dr. Jones said nervously.
“Can’t we cut off the first few trains? That way, the explosion won’t affect us anymore!” Elaine asked softly. She was the most intelligent girl in the fairy tale group, and she immediately made her own suggestion.
“We did it when the Germans jumped out of the car, but I always feel …” Jones frowned. As the most sensitive superpower in the Justice League, he could vaguely sense the fatal danger like Dean David.
“Not good, it’s that train cannon!” The needle in Dean David’s pupils spun rapidly, and shock appeared on his calm old face for the first time.
“Let’s go!” The faces of the Righteous Alliance’s superpowers changed drastically. Indiana Jones shouted at the other superpowers behind him, “Protect the scientists from jumping off the car!”
The Justice Alliance’s superpowers reacted quickly, rushing in front of the scientists, picking up one person each and pouncing towards the car window.
“No, we are already old. Take the younger scientists with us!” Dr. Oppenheimer smiled and rejected Indiana Jones, who was standing in front of him, throwing him an isolation bottle containing uranium 235 at his feet.
The number of superpowers in the car was limited, so it was impossible to take away all the scientists. Oppenheimer and a few older scientists chose to stay.
“Listen to the doctor. The Manhattan project has been completed. It’s time for us old fellas to pay the price for the big bomb!” The old scientist sitting opposite Oppenheimer smiled and raised the wine in his hand. “Old man, it looks like we won’t have a chance to argue between communism and capitalism in the future!”
“Hehe, Edward, we can talk about radiation from nuclear fission and fusion in heaven!” Oppenheimer winked at Dr. Edward Taylor and said humorously.
“Haha, Doctor, we built such a destructive bomb. We are destined not to go to heaven!” Dr. Taylor laughed out loud, his laughter filled with helplessness.
“Yes, you’re right, Edward!” Oppenheimer sighed regretfully and drank the wine cup in his hand.
The fairy tale girls who jumped off the train suddenly turned pale and looked at the army behind them in horror. “What about Dean David? Dean hasn’t got off the train …”
“It’s too late. If this old man doesn’t stay, I’m afraid no one will survive!” Looking at the fierce flash of light that erupted like a small sun in front of him, the five needles in Dean David’s eyes began to spin crazily, turning into a deep black hole.
…
“Boom!” A bright orange mushroom cloud slowly rose from the forest.
The tall trees in the woods rose to the ground and were thrown away in the fierce winds. The high temperature of several thousand degrees quickly turned the trees into coke. Countless tiny ashes were first swept over a thousand meters into the sky, and then scattered down onto the mountain forest like an endless rain of ashes.
The location of the armored army had already turned into a heavenly pit with a diameter of more than a hundred meters. Under the black soil, there was a faint dark red source of internal combustion flames. Countless twisted steel wreckage could be seen in the surrounding square kilometers. Apart from the occasional burst of burning matter, this land was deathly silent, showing no signs of life.
“Cough cough!” A violent cough suddenly came from beneath the broken stump of a tree. Along with the rising stump, a gray-faced figure struggled to climb up. A pair of pale gray pupils appeared on his face, which had been painted black by the ashes.
“Where … is this? Oh, I remember … damn Joey, he actually had a concussion and a temporary amnesia. No wonder he retracted!”
Qin Lun shook his dazed head. His ears were still buzzing, and he could not even hear his words clearly. His blurry voice seemed to come from the sky. Taking a deep breath, Qin Lun closed his eyes and slowly pieced together fragments of memories in his mind. Five or six minutes later, he recalled everything from before.
Joey’s plan was successful. Before the operation began, Captain Bork had given each member of the Gentlemen’s Union a few pieces of explosives with the intention of distributing explosive spots throughout the train.
The Allied armored corps was in seven carriages, the center of which was a 380 mm double-decker cannon. What was the concept of a 380 mm train cannon? That was to say, the muzzle of the cannon could be drilled into a thin youth. The cannon shell stood upright for more than a meter and weighed almost a ton.
The cannons are stocked with 380mm high explosive shells and the turret is fully enclosed. After the army was attacked, the gunners inside the train immediately closed the entrance and exit, and even the connection between the barrel and turret was blocked by steel plates.
The external armor of the cannon reached an average of 560 mm, and even the Gentlemen’s Alliance could not do anything about it unless they were able to break through manpower. The slightly weaker barrel could not climb into the tall German special forces, and the armoured shield even restricted the penetration of the Sandstorm Queen, making it the only carriage on the armored train that did not have to worry about being attacked.
Unfortunately, even under such tight protection, Joey still found a flaw. The Decomposer threw several pieces of explosives that had passed through the Borg mark into the barrel of the cannon. Using the paratrooper captain’s directional blasting ability, the Decomposer controlled the explosive detonation remotely, causing a large number of high-explosive cannonballs inside the cannon to explode with sympathy.
The fully armored train cannon became the largest conventional bomb, sending the entire army into the western sky.
Joey’s plan was very risky. It was a dead end. Borg detonated too early for the Gentlemen’s Alliance and Hydra’s forces to escape. It was too late to detonate, and the Justice Alliance would protect Allied scientists from escaping.
In fact, the special forces of the Gentlemen’s Alliance and the Hydra Corps began to jump out of the battle one after another. The Righteous Alliance immediately realized that the Germans wanted to blow up the car, and they responded almost at the same time.
Unfortunately, the Justice Alliance was different from the attackers. The Gentlemen’s Alliance and the Hydra Army were either superpowers or elite special forces. Their physiques were completely different from those of the older Alliance scientists. From the time the special forces jumped off the train to the time they ran a hundred meters away from the train, the Allied scientists were afraid that they would not be able to run more than ten meters.
Not to mention, Skorzny, who was patient, also ordered Captain Bork to detonate early. At this time, not to mention the scientists of the Justice Alliance and the Alliance Army, even the superpowers of the Gentlemen’s Alliance were still within the range of the explosion.
In fact, the power of this explosion was beyond everyone’s expectations. Within a hundred meters of the train cannon, everything, including steel, had turned into powder. The blast wave extended indirectly to a distance of a kilometer, engulfing everyone, including the original author, Joey. The only difference was the degree of injury.
“Is there anyone else alive?” Qin Lun asked on the guild channel with lingering fear.
“Cough cough, Joey Foster, you bastard!” Grant replied weakly from the guild channel.
“Boss Joey, we’re fine!” As Grant’s words fell, Lin Feng also spoke.
Qin Lun raised his head and heaved a sigh of relief towards the sky that was filled with black ash. Since Lin Feng was fine, then Xiaolian and Lily should still be alive. He didn’t explain to everyone that he wasn’t Joey, so even if he did now, no one else would believe him!
“We need to find Skorzny and Madame Monica as soon as possible. I wonder how many of them survived!” Qin Lun sighed and said indifferently.
After Joey’s plan began, the apostles in the temporary team were the first to jump off the carriage, while the other Gentlemen’s Union members and Hydra’s troops jumped off the carriage one after another. The last batch of evacuees probably wouldn’t survive. As for the Righteous Alliance and Alliance scientists, only God knew.
Lin Feng suddenly exclaimed on the guild channel, “Heavens, look at the main branch plot of ‘Xudra of Heracles’! Before we jumped out of the car, our mission completion rate was only 38%, but now it has reached 72.3% …”
“Probably either the important person mentioned in the mission died, or the key item was destroyed by this big explosion!” After a moment of silence on the guild channel, Grant happily concluded.
“Boss, should we go back and take a look? There shouldn’t be many people left in the Alliance Army. Perhaps we can increase the completion rate of the mission by a bit!” Lin Feng said hesitantly.
“No, I can’t go back!” Qin Lun decisively rejected.
“I can’t tell that you’re really not afraid of death!” Grant mocked happily, “Retreat, this completion rate is already the limit!”
