The Bigshot Shocks The World When She Backs Home Novel - Chapter 779
779 No Antidote
After hearing Elder Nie’s words, President Tan turned to his deranged appearance. His wide smile and bright eyes made his stomach stir.
He had a bad feeling about this.
Tan Jian hurriedly used his stick to knock away the men surrounding him. At this point, most of Elder Nie’s men had already scattered, with many of them falling to the ground.
President Tan, however, appeared to be distracted as he stared at his student.
!!
Was she really poisoned?
He frowned.
Just the thought of Yao Tang’s pained expression was enough to make him uncomfortable.
They rushed toward his student. As the girl now posed no threat to him, Elder Nie didn’t bother to stop them. He was far too drunk at the thought of the girl dying right before his eyes.
As he neared, President Tan could see that Yao Tang’s fingers had turned a dark shade of purplish-green. His eyes widened by a fraction.
She really was poisoned!
What was he going to do?
If Elder Nie was right, that meant that Yao Tang’s internal organs would be the first affected if he didn’t do anything. No, he had to do something!
He didn’t want to see his student die right in front of him. The old man immediately turned to Elder Nie, taking him by the collar. His eyebrows were furrowed as rage filled his gaze.
“Where’s the antidote?” he demanded, shaking him. “Tell me!”
Tan Jian also saw the dark shade of Yao Tang’s fingers.
He stared in disbelief.
He didn’t dare think of the consequences as he turned to the old man behind him, rolling up his sleeves. If he won’t answer his father, then he’d just have to beat the answer out of him!
Blood trailed down the corner of Elder Nie’s mouth as he was lifted up by President Tan. The man didn’t even bother to fight back.
Instead, he stared at Yao Tang with a smile as his eyes glinted with viciousness. “Oh, Yao Tang, your internal organs will be corroded bit by bit. By the time they manage to pick you up, you would’ve already died in pain,” he said, bursting into laughter. “May you have the most painful death a man can find.”
Elder Nie truly looked like he had gone crazy from the way he was laughing and slurring. The man looked like he had too much to drink.
President Tan gave him a hard slap, shaking him. “The antidote!” he demanded. “Where’s the antidote?”
Elder Nie simply snorted in response.
“Antidote?” he scoffed. “You’d think I’d bring one here? Besides, the best part about this poison is that there is no antidote! We haven’t even developed one yet, so I guess you’d just have to watch her die.”
“Maybe we can all watch her rot in front of us.”
Elder Nie didn’t seem to care about his life at all, far too focused on the girl in front of him.
“She’ll die here, forever cursed by an elder!”
Her internal organs would rot right here and then.
“You won’t be able to save her, and once all this is over, the Green Cloud Pavilion will hunt you down to the ends of the earth.” He grinned. “You would all die your own painful, and horrible deaths, and you’ll have me to thank!”
“Your lives would forever be chained to my mercy!”
The man burst into laughter.
His body had already gone limp from all the blood he vomited. President Tan curled his lips in disgust and chucked him to the side.
Instead, he turned to his student, who was just standing there this entire time. His heart clenched as he grabbed his phone.
“Don’t worry, I won’t let you die,” he comforted quickly.
When he turned his phone on, he realized that he had no signal.
“Damn it!”
President Tan scowled as he tried to raise his phone even higher. He had forgotten that they lost their signal on the way here. “How could this be?” he murmured to himself. “What should I do?”
What was the use of activating his power when his student would die right in front of him?
What was he going to do?
He clenched his fists.
“Oh, give up!” Elder Nie laughed. “You can’t save her. It seems that your most precious disciple has already reached the end of the road. By the time you’ve returned, her body would’ve already been burned right in front of you!”
Tan Jian, angered by the man’s words, promptly kicked him in the sides!
“Bastard!” he snarled.
Yao Tang raised her eyebrows.
“I’m fine, don’t worry.”
Even then, President Tan was still worried.
He had been poisoned and now, she was saying that she was fine?
