Tang Yin’s Adventure in Another World - Chapter 4
Chapter 4
Beyond the forest was a large field that had no borders. There were blue skies, white clouds, and green grass. It was a pastoral beauty initially, yet it no longer had any beauty or elegance now. What was left was just the killing of blood and tears.
On the field, there were thousands of people who were in the midst of a battle of life and death. On one side, they were wearing black helmets, black clothes and carried black armor, just like the outfit Tang Yin was wearing at that moment. On the other side, they had silver-white armor that was sparkly and blinding under the sunlight.
The fight between the two sides could no longer be described as exciting, it was a real fierce battle where they fought to kill. Everyone was waving the weapons in their hands on the battlefield, using all means to kill their opponent. Waves of people got injured and fell to the ground, but even more people soon came flooding over. Various weapons stabbed to the ground in unison, piercing and slicing those who were on the ground into meat sauce.
Tang Yin had killed many people before, and had also participated in many large-scale syndicate-fights. Yet he had never seen a battle scene that was this realistic and cruel, nor had he seen people whose insanity was almost beast-like. At this moment, he was stunned by the scene in front of him.
“Ah-“
Tang Yin was in the grass and he popped his head out to look around. Just as he was in a daze, a battle horse rushed toward him from his right. On the horse was a knight with a silver helmet whose blood-red eyes were locked on Tang Yin’s head. The spear in his hand reached out, and the sharp blade pointed straight toward Tang Yin’s neck.
The speed of the horse was too fast, almost like an arrow that had left its bow. Tang Yin was in the midst of extreme shock and did not realise at all that danger had fallen upon him.
At this crucial moment, a middle-aged man in black armor slammed against Tang Yin. A muffled bang followed. Tang Yin and the middle-aged man fell into the grass together. At the same time, the battle horse passed by the both of them with a whiz, and the knight’s spear grazed over both their scalps.
“…%—¥—”
The middle-aged man sat up from the ground and was gasping for his breath. At the same time, he grabbed Tang Yin by the collar and was questioning him by screaming loudly.
He had a weird accent. Tang Yin did not understand. He had been to quite a few places in China and could distinguish all the local dialects. Yet this person’s language didn’t seem like a local dialect from anywhere. Although he didn’t understand what this person had said to him, he knew that this middle-aged man had just saved his life.
Tang Yin looked straight at the middle-aged man. He was just about to open his mouth to ask what this place was and who these people were. However, as he paused to think about it, he swallowed the words he wanted to say. He couldn’t understand what the other person said, which meant that the other person might not understand what he was about to say. The reason why this person saved him was obviously because of his outfit, thinking that he was one of them. If he were to open his mouth to speak a language that he didn’t understand, he might think that he was a spy. The situation at this moment was stranger and dangerous. If both the black and white parties were to regard him as an enemy, it would be a disaster.
A hard and cruel childhood had developed Tang Yin’s suspicious and cautious character.
He didn’t ask questions but just opened his mouth to make sounds.
The middle-aged man glimpsed and asked a question.
Tang Yin didn’t know what he asked and simply nodded.
The middle-aged man shook his head and sighed with his eyes filled with hints of pity. Tang Yin had a feeling that the other person had taken him as a mute. When the middle-aged man was just about to continue talking, the knight who had rushed over turned the horse’s head and was on his way back here again. His face was all curled up due to anger, and was even cussing non-stop. He seemed weirdly mad at Tang Yin who wasn’t stabbed to death by his spear.
At this time, Tang Yin had regained his alertness. A fierce light appeared immediately in his eyes as he saw that person returned with his horse. He pushed the middle-aged man away and jumped out from the grass at the same time. He stood on the field with a spear in his hand, staring at the knight who urged the horse toward him.
The middle-aged man who saved Tang Yin earlier was shocked and yelled continuously at Tang Yin, asking for him to move away in that instant. From how he saw it, an infantry who wanted to challenge a cavalry one-on-one was simply looking for death.
Tang Yin did not move. He never backed down from his enemies.
The cavalry was getting closer and closer to him. Tang Yin could even see the cold and cruel smile on his face clearly.
He was also smiling, and his smile was even darker and colder.
In an instant, the cavalry had reached the front of Tang Yin. The spear in his hand reached out and aimed straight for Tang Yin’s chest.
Tang Yin’s body that was standing straight moved out of a sudden without any precursors. His body moved half a meter sideways like a lightning bolt to dodge the opponent’s blade as well as the impact of the battle horse. At the same time, the spear in his hand was raised up. With a tearing sound, the tip of the spear stabbed straight into the knight’s throat.
Tang Yin didn’t exert any force, but the inertia of horse rushing forward was too huge that the knight’s neck was pierced through by the spear. Before he could even make a sound, he had already fallen off the horse and onto the ground with a bang. His eyes were wide open and his body was still. He stopped breathing on the spot. The horse that had lost its master gave a long neigh and ran away.
To be able to stab a knight on his horse with just one stroke of the spear, Tang Yin had brought the three key spirits ‘speed’, ‘accuracy’, and ‘mercilessness’ to their extreme. The soldiers of both parties who were still killing and fighting around them were also stunned as they all looked at Tang Yin in shock. That middle-aged man recollected himself in a sudden and danced his way out from the grass while shouting constantly.
Hearing his screams, the black-clothed people around them also followed to shout loudly. Tang Yin didn’t know what they were shouting, but he could feel the burst of excitement from their shouts that made his blood boil. Only till a little while later did he understand that they were shouting ‘Wind’, which was the name of their country.
Tang Yin’s stunning skills had inspired the fighting spirits of the black-clothed people around him. At the same time, it also attracted the hatred and anger of the people in white armor and white helmets.
“Roar-“
Almost at the same time, dozens of white-armored soldiers rushed toward Tang Yin. Some had long swords, some had sabers, and some others were holding double spears with both hands. If anyone else were to see this group of fierce and savage men rushing toward them, they would long be scared off. Yet Tang Yin was completely indifferent. He sneered and pulled out the spear from the corpse’s neck. He didn’t retreat, but instead he rushed toward the opponents.
In the blink of an eye, the two sides collided. At the start of the battle, Tang Yin let out a short cheer. The spear in his hand was like an agile snake and stabbed straight into the white-armored man’s chest. Although he didn’t have a strong build, his strength was extremely shocking. With just one stroke, he pierced through the big man’s iron armor. The bloody spear tip penetrated out from behind the person’s body.
Tang Yin held the spear with one hand and waved it forcefully, throwing the corpse that hung on the spear away. At this time, another white-armored big man came close to him. As he was just about to bring down his saber, Tang Yin dodged sideways and countered with an elbow strike. This elbow slammed heavily onto the man’s face. The man screamed while blood spurted all over his face, and he staggered backward.
Not waiting for Tang Yin to draw his spear, the remaining enemies had all rushed forward with the intention of hurting, stabbing and piercing his vital points.
Tang Yin could feel that although these people didn’t know KungFu, they had definitely went through melee combat training. Their attacks were quick and merciless, each move was aiming straight at his vital points. His usual weapons were crescent moon double-knife and wasn’t used to using a long spear. He pulled back and retreated, dodged the attacks from his countless enemies as he retracted his spear.
He held the spear horizontally with both hands and gripped it hard. He put it downward a little and followed to let out a loud scream. He raised his leg and hit the spear with his knee.
Kacha! The wooden pole of the spear snapped with a click. Tang Yintwisted the spear with force, snapping the spear into two.
His sudden move not only surprised the white armies, even the black-clothed people didn’t understand his intention and wondered if he was out of his mind to destroy his own weapon on the battlefield.
They wouldn’t have known that Tang Yin was used to short weapons. Although a snapped spear wasn’t as good as a double knife, he could at least exert stronger power.
“Ah-“
Tang Yin let out a sudden scream and rushed forward once again. This time, he exerted his full force and made his way through the crowd of opponents freely like a mudfish. The half spear in his hands would splash instances of blood rain from time to time accompanied with deafening screams.
Not only did the dozens of silver armor soldiers couldn’t manage to hurt Tang Yin even by a single inch, yet more than ten of them were killed by Tang Yin continuously.
Seeing his bravery and agility that was unstoppable, the white-armored soldiers were all stunned till they lost their spirits and retreated in unison. The black-armored soldiers on the other hand screamed and rushed forward with the ignition of their battle intent.
Throughout the battlefield, the white party had always been in the position of killing their enemies and occupied absolute advantage; while the black party was the losing party and had absolute disadvantage. Only the corner in which Tang Yin was positioned had a sudden turn of events. The black party exerted their counterattack under his lead and chased the white party till they retreated with defeat.
It’s just that their corner wasn’t sufficient to create enough impact throughout the whole battlefield. Just as Tang Yin was getting into the killing, he heard a sudden scream from behind him. He was bloodthirsty and murderous by now. Plus, he couldn’t understand what the person behind him was saying. He didn’t care much and wanted to continue killing the white-armor soldiers.
At that moment, his wrist was tight as it was being grasped firmly by someone. Tang Yin didn’t think much and wanted to stab him with his spear instinctively. Yet he recognised that this man was the black-armored middle-aged man who saved his life earlier. He retracted the spear hurriedly and looked at the man in shock.
