Sword Among Us Novel - Chapter 460
Chapter 460: Drawing Someone to Their Side
Happy did not pay attention to the strange surprised expressions from the Emei Sect girls. He just looked at Yue Hua with a calm smile. He could sense that the Miss Yue he once met at the royal mausoleum had something troubling her, and it seemed to be related to Red Coral and Black Rose.
Even though they were talking about some of the things they experienced and some of the interesting things that happened in Emei Sect, when Yue Hua cast her glance at Black Rose, who was fighting against Black and White Fiends, her gaze betrayed things she did not say.
Red Coral’s expression was also incredibly strange. She might be smiling faintly, but there was a hint of wariness in it.
After this continued for some time, she finally became natural in her mannerisms.
“So, Happy, you received a quest from our sect and was asked to come here to get rid of the evil sect fighters who appeared nearby?”
Yue Hua looked at Happy in astonishment.
He smiled, but shook his head. “It’s similar, but it’s not a quest from your sect. I’m not an Emei Sect disciple, after all.”
“Oh.” Yue Hua understood very quickly, and her eyes lit up. “It must be Zhou Zhiruo. After Mistress Annihilation died, I heard that you took the initiative to hand over the sect leader’s jade ring to her. Whew, even our sect leader/teacher owes you a favor. Looks like I’ll have to ask you to take care of us Emei Sect disciples in the future. If we follow you, we’ll definitely gain our sect teacher’s favor.”
“Don’t say that. Heh… I’ll be embarrassed.” Happy smiled, but a moment later, he schooled his expression and asked a favor from them. “Please try your best and not spread the news of me being here to anyone else.”
“Yes, of course.” Yue Hua tilted her pretty chin, and it made her look even more beautiful than she usually was. It also made her look less like a strong woman. “If you trust us enough to reveal your identity on your own, if we reveal your tracks, wouldn’t that just make us not uphold the code of brotherhood?”
“My sister has spent almost all her qi. I’ll go help her.”
Red Coral cast a glance at the battlefield and told Happy that she was going before she grabbed her sword and rushed inside.
Two grunts came from the battlefield when she attacked.
“Stupid wench!”
“You’re despicable!”
Once the fiends were attacked by Ice Silver Needle, their onslaught on Black Rose came to a pause, allowing her to catch her breath. She quickly took a Dew Pill to recover her qi.
“Let’s attack together!”
The two girls spoke concisely, and each lured away one fiend to fight against them on their own.
Red Coral’s sword technique was incredibly bizarre. It looked like black lotuses that shone brilliantly and curiously. They shone with a profound darkness that seemed to be able to corrode a person’s heart, and that light left her sword to swing in the air.
White Fiend fought against Red Coral. His movements swiftly became slower, and he seemed to have been caught in an indescribable aura. Sweat poured down his back, and he continuously avoided the black lotuses that filled the air.
But as time passed, more black lotuses showed up, and he was surrounded by trouble. In the end, the black lotuses took a bit off him one by one. They cut terrifying gashes on his body, making him look as if lotus petals had bloomed on him.
Yue Hua and the others were shocked. “What is that sword technique?”
“Lotus Essence Sword.” Happy smiled faintly.
Yue Hua could sense that there was something different about the sword technique from the way Happy stared at Red Coral. She lowered her voice and asked, “Could it be an ultimate technique as well?”
“It’s almost at that level.” Happy gave an ambiguous answer.
But Yue Hua’s gaze instantly changed.
Black Rose was already very strong, and her abilities were above hers, but she did not expect that even Red Coral would also get such an evaluation from Happy. It was clear that she was even more powerful.
Suddenly, a great sense of loss filled her heart.
She might have built Moon Reflection Temple not too long ago, but she could not stop the strange sense of loss from filling her heart.
She did not notice it, but she suddenly began talking about her thoughts. “I didn’t expect that the girls who were about the same as me in terms of strength a few months ago will surpass me like that.
“Now I’m beginning to wonder whether my initial choice was wrong. I should not have chosen to build Moon Reflection Temple, but have made the same choice as them and go on an adventure in the world of martial artists. If I did that, would I have experienced something different as well?”
Moon Reflection Temple was not famous in the game, and it was slightly different from what Yue Hua had initially imagined. Right then, Black Rose and Red Coral had both become outstanding figures in the game, and they far surpassed her. She was a little regretful after seeing that, and she did not know where she was going to go from there.
Happy said nothing. He just listened quietly.
“A few days ago, some of my former sect members came to try and give me advice. They said that I have a holier-than-thou attitude for being firmly entrenched in Emei. They left Moon Reflection Temple and joined other sects…”
She sighed and suddenly cast her gaze on Happy.
“It’s only now that I understand that not everyone can become people like Dream Clouds, Wind Void, and Clear Music.”
She paused for a moment before she continued. “Dream Clouds has leadership abilities and various strategies at her disposal. She also has Blood Robes and Barren Murderer.
“Wind Void is as good as a man, and she has Lin Xiao, Red Dust, and a group of chivalrous sect members. Clear Music, on the other hand, can see much further ahead than others. She also has a group of great players to help her.
“I don’t have anything though. I’m only a girl who had the dream of being able to stand supreme in the world of martial artists. Yet I’m not even on par with Black Rose, who has a group of loyal sect members protecting her.
“Now that I think about it, at that time, I was truly a little naive. I couldn’t do anything, and I even caused my sisters to get stuck at our starting point.”
The girls from Moon Reflection Temple said nothing, but their eyes turned red. They knew the pressure on Yue Hua’s shoulders, but they did not expect that her burden was so great. She had basically forced herself into a corner.
“That’s how World of Martial Arts is. If you don’t improve, you’ll fall behind.” Happy sighed with a myriad of emotions in him and said, “In truth, Miss Yue, you’ve done pretty well by taking in thousands of female disciples from Emei Sect when you built Moon Reflection Temple.
“But you didn’t make sufficient preparations to become a leader, and you didn’t choose your temple’s location well. You also didn’t focus on your advantage. As for the people you mentioned, all of them have pretty good experience, have gone through a lot of things, and have a lot of resources. You had to start accumulating everything from the start. Don’t lose heart.”
No matter what, the two of them were acquainted with each other, and Happy knew that Yue Hua was actually a straightforward and bold woman.
She was most likely implying that she wanted to be affiliated with Mu Clan, but Happy was pretty sure that if he took over the burden from Yue Hua, she would soon vanish from the game.
Her regrets and self-blame would cause her to leave. In fact, she might even be traumatized already.
This was something Happy did not want to see!
“Based on my observations over the past few days, even though Emei Sect has some innate inadequacies, you have rich resources. Not only are your ores rather concentrated together, you also have a lot of intelligent beasts lurking around the area, such as Golden Arm Apes, Immortal Cranes, Golden Coin Leopards, Iron Back Bears, and many others. Regardless of whether it is materials for armor or martial art manuals, you can get a lot of them here! You also have few cities in the area.
“You managed to set up your Emei Sect in this place full of such great resources around you that even I am envious. If you could gather up all those resources and use them for your temple, you would definitely have a place in the game in the future.”
While Happy shared his thoughts, Red Coral and Black Rose got rid of Black and White Fiends and walked over to join the conversation.
“That’s right. Those intelligent beasts’ pelts are all grade one materials. They’re all incredibly precious. In truth, we’ve wanted to talk about this with Mu Clan since a long time ago to set up a branch over here and take the first step to excavate the resources here in Emei.
“It’s a pity though that this place is to the north of Changjiang and is very close to Class One Hall’s territory. Once something happens, Mu Clan won’t be able to take care of it. That’s why we didn’t mention it.”
“But I’m worried that I won’t be able to do it.” Yue Hua shook her head in agony.
“It’s fine, I’ll help you.” A thought appeared in Happy’s head due to Red Coral enlightening him. He thought of a plan that could benefit both sides. “You can be in charge of excavating those resources, and Mu Clan will be in charge of taking them. If you have any questions, you can tell Rose and Coral. They’ll be in Emei Mountain for a while, and they can help you.”
