“It’s okay, go ahead with your work.” Kay Lee had no idea what was happening but nodded her head. Finn Lewis turned around and walked out. At this point, the people inside the room finally understood what that humming sound was because it had grown very loud. Looking out the window, they could see more than a dozen red navigation lights shining in the sky not far above them, with a particularly conspicuous green circle at the forefront.
Elegant Sky recognized it instantly. It was Oliver Landson’s transport helicopters, accentuated by the green navigation lights along the edges of the spinning rotors, creating the appearance of a green circle in the sky due to their high speed. Everyone in the room had their mouths wide open in shock.
“Remember, impressive individuals do not boast about their capabilities. Strong individuals, however, do.” Before leaving, Finn Lewis turned around and left a remark for Norton James, causing Norton’s face to turn beet red.
Everyone ignored Norton’s embarrassment though, as they were all too busy following Finn out to watch the spectacle. Although the old man’s house was located on the town’s outskirts, the yard was not large enough to accommodate the landing of a helicopter. So, the transport helicopter landed on a nearby vacant plot. Two other helicopters remained hovering in the sky.
Though it was night, it was only slightly past 8 p.m., and the darkness was not too deep. It was clear to see the two helicopters in the sky were not transport helicopters but rather armed ones, new and fully loaded with weapons.
Five soldiers carrying weapons rushed in from outside. The one leading them was a major who saluted the old man standing next to Finn. Clearly caught by surprise, the old man hastily returned the salute. “I apologize for the disturbance,” the major said. “The situation is urgent and the higher-ups sent me to escort Mr. Lewis. Sir, are you Finn Lewis?”
After explaining to the old man, the major directly turned to Finn and asked the same question.
“That’s me,” Finn replied, nodding his head.
The Major saluted Finn again before extending his hand to shake it quickly, explaining, “Mr. Lewis, you’ve been ordered by the General Staff to come with me.”
“Okay,” Finn nodded, immediately following the major towards the helicopter. The four fully armed soldiers behind the major were on guard throughout the process. Even though there wasn’t any threat present, they had orders to be cautious.
Finn was a little curious too. After all, he had never ridden in a military helicopter before, let alone been escorted by two armed ones. It was an experience few people would get to enjoy. Once on board, Finn was swiftly guided to a seat and buckled in by a soldier.
By the time the soldier was finished with his duties, the helicopter had already started to take off, flying dozens of meters off the ground. After signaling for Finn to put on his headphones, the major relayed, “Mr. Lewis, the situation is a bit urgent, so in order to save time, we won’t be taking you to the Bath airport. We’ll take you to the nearest airport, where a plane is waiting for you.”
“Huh? They want me to take a plane back?” Finn choked a bit, growing anxious. It seemed the situation was dire. Otherwise, the officials wouldn’t be in such a hurry.
“Yes, this way, we can get Mr. Lewis to Celeston City in about an hour,” the major said, nodding his head.
“Okay,” Finn nodded, feeling completely fine. He had traveled on planes before, even if the Thunderhawk wasn’t a conventional aircraft. Besides, with his physique and the Little Wildcat Protective Suit, he was sure to be okay.
However, at this point, the Davis’s Mansion was in utter chaos, even Norton was left speechless. Although Norton’s father hadn’t been part of the military and had chosen to do business instead, his grandfather had only retired from military service a few years ago. As a result, Norton was familiar with military procedures and knew that the arrival of a military helicopter and an armed escort was a sign that Finn Lewis wasn’t an ordinary person.
“Kay, who exactly is this friend of yours? You can’t lie to me,” the old man asked, turning to Kay Lee. Everyone’s eyes were now focused on Kay.
“Grandpa, I didn’t lie to you. His name is Finn. He does own his own company, but as to the scale of it, perhaps I didn’t elaborate enough,” Kay said, now wishing she had explained everything from the beginning, which could have prevented all of this fuss.
“Oh?” The old man looked at Kay curiously.
“Grandpa, he does indeed have a gaming company. He’s the owner of WY Entertainment. But this is just one of his gaming companies. According to foreign media reports, his net worth has exceeded that of Bill Gates, making him the new world’s richest man,” Kay said, her chin lifting a little with pride. She glanced over at Norton before adding, “What Mr. James said earlier was also correct. Sometimes, Finn does like to spend my money. He says it makes us feel more like a couple, so when we go out shopping or for meals, I always foot the bill.”
Kay’s words felt like a bomb had been dropped into a peaceful lake, causing a huge commotion. When she first mentioned Finn’s name, no one thought much of it, but her explanation brought many to a realization. They remembered previous reports of a young man named Finn Lewis from the Flame Nation becoming the world’s richest man.
But… there had to be more than ten thousand people named Finn Lewis in the Flame Nation. Who could believe the Finn Lewis they knew was the world’s richest man? Not in a million years! As soon as Kay finished speaking, Cypress Davis’s face flushed red. He remembered his recent conversation with Finn, boasting about his company’s market value of 10 billion Flame Nation coins. In that recall, he felt extremely embarrassed.
Boasting about his 10 billion Flame Nation coins of net worth in front of a man worth more than 700 billion Flame Nation coins… it felt like a beggar bragging about his wealth to a billionaire.
