Shadow Hack - Chapter 822
Chapter 822: Really Bold
The maid turned around and glanced at Chen Xiu who was immersed in observing the city lord’s mansion. She creased her brows, and a hint of contempt appeared in her eyes.
“This is the city lord’s mansion and not Morrow Clan,” she said slowly. “If you look at the decorations of the city lord’s mansion once more, I will dig out your eyes.”
After saying that, she suddenly released a presence corresponding to middle stage sage flux expert.
Her pressure mixed with the half god’s power which was already rampaging in Chen Xiu’s body, and his complexion turned paler. He looked at the maid and respectfully said, “Elder sister is right. City lord’s mansion is extremely impressive so I couldn’t help but look around.”
The maid coldly snorted, then raised her chin and arrogantly said. “Pah, who is your elder sister? Don’t think of establishing a relationship with me. The people of city lord’s mansion would never accept such things. Follow closely, don’t lose your way, or you will lose your head.”
Her tone was filled with complete disdain toward a branch family descendant like Chen Xiu; she did not try to veil it in the slightest.
Chen Xiu nodded, and his gaze did not return to the decorations of the city lord’s residence. He closely followed behind the maid and entered a large hall.
After passing through the main hall was the visitor’s hall. The maid led Chen Xiu directly to the revolving stairs after bypassing the screen at the center and climbed to the top. They stopped in front of a large wooden door.
The contempt in the eyes of the maid disappeared at that moment, and she said with a pleasant smile, “City lord, god father, Chen Xiu has arrived.”
“En, you leave now. Let that Chen Xiu enter by himself.”
Once the deep voice of Ashbi echoed through the door, the maid retreated and disappeared from the corridor. Chen Xiu took a deep breath and opened the wooden door, walking inside. After entering, he saw Ashbi respectfully standing, with his slightly fat body completely straight, by the side of a youth with black hair. There was no anger on Ashbi’s face, only the dignity of someone in power.
As for the black-haired youth who had three heads and six arms, he was lazily reclining on his leather chair. He was holding a wineglass with a sort of warmth coming from his body that reminded of an ordinary person. There was no majesty of a high and mighty ancient god coming from him.
Yet that young man was Asura, the ancestor of every resident of Asura City.
Chen Xiu had seen the portrait of Asura during the ceremonies of making sacrifices to the ancestors. It had been made of gold and held a majesty which seemed to be looking down on everyone. Only fanatical worship would remain in the heart of anyone who saw it.
But when Chen Xiu saw the person himself, there was no disdain on the ancient god’s face. Given his young appearance, he and Ashbi did not look like a son and father, but more like hedonistic sons of rich parents.
Chen Xiu walked in front of the two people and kowtowed on the ground before respectfully saying, “Chen Xiu pays his respect to god father and city lord.”
After saying that, Chen Xiu raised his head and felt a formidable pressure assault him. The next moment, Ashbi’s angry snarl echoed in his ears.
“Chen Xiu, how should you be punished? You are really courageous, daring to lie to god father and me! Aren’t you just courting death?”
Under the pressure of a god, the half god’s energy inside Chen Xiu’s body seemed to be replenished and became even more active. It jumped up and down, destroying all his meridians.
He gritted his teeth to keep himself from falling unconscious and said with determination, “I had no intention to lie to god father and the city lord, but if I did not do this, then city lord and god father would not have opened the door of the city lord’s mansion.
Once Ashbi heard Chen Xiu’s words, his gaze became even fiercer, and he shouted with anger, “Impudent! You are only a branch family descendant of the four great clans and still dare to scheme against the god father and me? You are clearly courting death.”
After saying that, Ashbi casually flung his hand to one side, and a ray of black light slowly flew toward Chen Xiu. Under the divine pressure which was like a vast ocean, Chen Xiu was instantly turned into duckweed in the ocean, unable to control his body in the slightest.
When he looked at the black ray filled with apocalyptic pressure, his eyes narrowed. He moved his hand with great effort and used the power of Asura Eyes to resist.
Any clan treasure was filled with the power of belief, and it could instantly increase their strength, but they had restrictions on time elapsed between two successive uses and number of times used. Chen Xiu had used Asura Eyes three times in one day. First time, he borrowed the power of belief to raise his strength to the level of a god, second time to a great circle sage flux expert, and now only to a late stage sage flux expert.
Although his strength had only risen to the late stage of a sage flux expert, whether for good or bad, this increase in strength was enough for him to ensure that he wouldn’t die from the attack, though he would sustain heavy injuries. After all, it would be delusional of him to think that he could stop the city lord’s attack without being a half god expert.
Chen Xiu did not want to just lower his arms and wait for death. After all, lying down without a fight wasn’t his style.
The black light slowly passed through the air. Everywhere it went, ripples were created in the air because of the power accumulated in the black ray.
“That’s enough. He is only a youngster. Your heavy attack has scared him.”
Asura waved his arm, and the black light filled with enormous pressure disappeared in the air without any trace.
Ashbi looked at Asura and said in astonishment, “God father, this sort of person who harms their clansmen should be put to death. Why are you stopping me?”
“City lord, why do you believe so? If I had killed Ming Xiu, it would mean that I had rebelled and I wouldn’t be sitting here waiting for death. Could it be that people with impure bloodlines are innately born as subordinates? City lord, if you were in my place and hunted down by someone, would you not stake your life to fight back?” Chen Xiu said with difficulty while dealing with the half god’s energy rampaging in his body.
If it was not suppressed, he would die before long. But Chen Xiu was only an initial stage sage flux expert, so he was unable to suppress it. Not to mention, how could he randomly move around in the presence of Ancient God Asura and Ashbi?
“You…” Ashbi coldly looked at Chen Xiu and sneered at him. “As the son of an ancient god, everything I do is correct. You are only a branch family descendant with impure bloodline, yet you surprisingly dare to compare yourself with me.”
Bloodlines… Everything depended upon bloodline.
Those with muddled bloodline were lower grade people. If they could not excite their bloodline and bring out the different body parts of their clan, they were discarded and thrown into the slums. Or if they were lucky, they would become a branch family descendant and live as someone’s subordinate all their lives.
Chen Xiu smiled coldly, and the emotions suppressed inside him for a long time burst forth. “So what if someone’s bloodline is pure? Ming Xiu still died outside. And I, a branch family descendant, safely returned to Asura City. City lord, your words are wrong. Whether your bloodline is pure or not, it isn’t important. The important thing is whether you can survive until the end or not.”
When Chen Xiu said that, his eyes focused upon Ashbi with an expression like that of a wolf.
Asura, who still reclined on his leather chair, looked at Chen Xiu and said with a smile, “Then did you really kill Ming Xiu? Whenever the young master of a great clan sets out, they take a clan treasure with them which can allow them to increase their strength to the level of a god, so how did you kill him?”
“Ming Xiu wasn’t killed by me, but by a holy daughter. She was a god, while Ming Xiu had only raised his strength to god realm temporarily, so it was of no use.”
