Chapter 817: Asura City

Three silhouettes could be seen leisurely traveling down a small, twisted path at the outskirts of Asura City.

Chen Xiu sat on his monster lizard while looking up ahead. Once they rode for a bit more, he turned around and respectfully said to the two people behind him, “Master, mistress, we have arrived at Asura City.”

Although he had spoken, the two people did not seem to have heard him and remained immersed in their own world. Li Yunmu was holding Brunhilda in his embrace while looking at the surrounding scenery and chatting with her. Brunhilda looked like a newly wed wife of an ordinary person, her fair face completely red.

Chen Xiu once more looked forward and advanced toward Asura City.

The hierarchy of Asura City was very strict. The four clans reigned supreme, so if those two people were from the four great clans, then not bowing just then would be a major crime for which he would be thrown into prison.

The soldier pondered it for a while, then respectfully bowed after the three before straightening up and focusing back on guarding the door .

After entering the city, the trio saw a desolate district which had no proper houses. Only a few shacks were built from mud and bricks. The women and children in the doorways wore shabby clothes while holding something knitted from hay in their hands. On the path, many children with all sorts of deformities were running around.

When Chen Xiu passed by them on his monster lizard, the children stopped playing and looked at him with shiny eyes that held confusion. The next instant, several children were pulled away by the women standing at their doorways and forced to kneel on the ground.

Li Yunmu saw that one of the children forced to kneel on the ground by a woman was secretly lifting his head to look and said with some interest, “Chen Xiu, why does this area after entering the city looks like a slum.”

“Since it is a slum. The people living here are civilians who don’t have Asura bloodline or children of the four clans with extremely impure bloodlines. Li Yunmu nodded at his words. When he took a better look, he did notice that the children at the side of the road indeed had some features of the four great clans. Some had two small bulges protruding out of their shoulders, others countless marks on their hands which were eyes that could not open, and there were also some who had a distorted small face at the back of their heads.

After entering the city, Li Yunmu clearly felt that the status of a person in Asura City was fixed, regardless of whether if someone was a soldier or a child in the slum. On Earth, soldiers were extremely respectable people who didn’t need to bend in front of powerful people. Children, in the meantime, were the center of their families. But Asura City was different. Even a soldier had to bow in front of branch family descendants and salute properly because the one before them belonged to the four great clans.
