Shadow Hack - Chapter 430
Chapter 430: Hypothesis and Deduction
Li Yunmu knew that he was at the most crucial moment of testing the place.
When Li Tian got closer to the human emperor’s sculpture, was only ten meters away, a bizarre event happened.
Bright halo surrounded the body of the human emperor. The light began to expand fiercely and pushed Li Tian’s body several meters away.
The shadow didn’t give up and without showing any fear went back again at an even faster speed.
At this moment, suddenly palpitations rose from the depths of the heart of Li Yunmu who was standing behind. Li Yunmu subconsciously looked around and was instantly frightened.
Sure enough, the worst possible outcome became true. The several thousand defender sculptures began to recover quickly, their presences spreading out.
“Not good, Li Tian, quickly turn back and retreat.”
At that instant, Li Yunmu was scared out of his wits. He couldn’t help but feel that way because the presence of the guardians of the mausoleum was just too strong. Every single ordinary guardian was extremely strong.
None of them were lower than mid great flux experts, not to mention that the four commander guardians had a strength of sage flux experts.
Overall, it wouldn’t be the slightest exaggeration to say that even if the most ordinary guardian managed to awaken, Li Yunmu with his eleven shadows would not be able to deal with it. Besides using Danger Critical Extinguisher, he had no other tricks in his arsenal which could defeat a guardian.
Fortunately, the shadows followed Li Yunmu’s every command to the dot. After receiving his command, Li Tian immediately halted and began to retreat. With it, the guardian sculptures also began to calm down.
Before long, the guardian sculptures returned to their original state and were the same as dead creatures.
“System, weren’t you absolutely certain that these sculptures were not alive? Just now, they were almost resurrected,” Li Yunmu said after calming down a bit.
System was silent for a long time before replying. [The system finds it quite embarrassing, but these sculptures exceed the realm of the system’s understanding. From now on, host should not rely on the system’s analysis in excess.
[As for whether they are dead or alive, after not being able to detect any signs of life, the system still believes that they aren’t alive. But it is extremely possible that they are preserved in this world in a near-death state. Similarly, it is also quite possible that they are deliberately arranged by the master of the cemetary to scare people.]
“Scare people?”
Li Yunmu shook his head. He didn’t believe in the least that the goal of the one who arranged that many guardian sculptures with such formidable presence in a dimensional space to be scaring people.
On top of that, Li Yunmu had a feeling that if Li Tian had kept advancing instead of retreating, all the guardian sculptures in the vicinity of the human emperor would’ve definitely resurrected.
It was clear that the system’s analysis wasn’t absolute in all circumstances. For example the his situation, which was extremely mysterious, had already surpassed the scope of science.
“Then what could be done?”
For a while, Li Yunmu was caught by a dilemma. He had already removed the first layer of secrets of the underground cave, but he still hadn’t completely figured it out. He then looked at Li Yun.
However, Li Yun informed him through their telepathic connection that he hadn’t found any information regarding this underground cave in the inheritance he received and he had absolutely no idea about what was going on here.
After Li Yun’s reply, a hint of fear crept into Li Yunmu’s heart. Since Li Yun had obtained the inheritance of the island, then there shouldn’t be anything on it about which he would be in the dark. His predecessor definitely wouldn’t have neglected such an important underground cave.
After some thinking, Li Yunmu came up with an extremely terrifying possibility!
The person who had created the cave was different from the master of the dimensional space. Most probably, there was no link between them. Although this theory seemed complete nonsense, it kept spiralling in Li Yunmu’s mind like a curse.
He shared it with the system. It ran a few deductions based on his idea and replied only after a long time. [If host’s suspicion is correct, then most of the questions regarding this matter can be answered easily. If we suppose that the ancient god who established this plane perished or left the world because of some reason, he would have naturally wanted to find a successor for his dimensional plane. However, before we came to become the successors of this island, another formidable powerhouse had intruded on it.
[If we suppose that this unknown powerhouse had no relation to the predecessor and had another goal on his mind for the dimensional space to plan his tricks, his actions could have resulted in bizarre events about which even Li Yun, who is the successor, did not know about.]
The system quickly established a hypothesis around Li Yunmu’s conjuncture. He slowly analyzed it and had to accept that it sounded quite rational. But one question was extremely obvious, to the extent that he couldn’t neglect it.
That question was about how did the unknown powerhouse enter the dimensional space and was able to leave its imprint without obtaining the acknowledgement of the island.
It was clear that there was a vast difference between the authority of the predecessor and successor Li Yun over the island. This vast difference was like the difference between heaven and earth which could never be crossed.
First, the creator of the island, that ancient god, definitely had possessed complete control of the island, like Li Yunmu had over his heavenly world. He could use the power of the world, unlike Li Yun who had only obtained the most basic acknowledgment.
Second, the strength of that ancient god was probably unfathomable and he was probably the most terrifying existence in his world.
