S-Class Dungeon’s Mistress - Chapter 73
Chapter 73
“Caladi, you’re here?” Adelaide said.
She felt sorry for what had happened yesterday and greeted him with a gentle voice. However, no response came.
Caladium stared at her as if time had stopped. His sunken gaze was so deep that it felt cold. Soon, his lips twitched and a surprisingly ferocious voice leaked out.
“You.”
The energy that could not be suppressed roared like a raging wave. The atmosphere was so unsettling that what they had fought about so far looked nothing more than whining.
He walked towards Adelaide. His gait was so slow compared to when he had been bouncing around a while ago. Each step was heavy.
Adelaide’s eyes widened at the unknown situation.
‘Why is he so angry all of a sudden? Were you tired from sleeping outside yesterday? That being said, when you just called my name, you had a bright expression…’
She didn’t know why, but she knew the situation was serious. It was obvious just from the look in his eyes. His silver-gray eyes were so menacing that she couldn’t help but tremble. She tried to think about her recent actions but she knew that she had done nothing wrong.
“Did you do it with that b*stard?”
One of the Durahans who had been drinking tea spat out what was in his mouth. Puu. Adelaide used her natural evasion skills to quickly dodge the water that scattered into the air. Raham wanted to pat the Durahan on the back as he choked, but he couldn’t because of the situation.
“Huh? Ah, my regular absorption?”
Adelaide didn’t seem too surprised by his harsh question. Rather, she relaxed her shoulders, which had shrunk in tension, and answered comfortably. She was calm, as if there was nothing wrong.
“Yes! I did.” She said innocently.
Caladium was silent for a moment. The other demons also joined in the silence and exchanged glances.
The sound of sharp teeth grinding was clear. Caladium’s face looked like he had a lot of things he wanted to say, but he couldn’t utter any of them.
Because he knew it himself. The fact that his and Adelaide’s kisses were nothing more than skinship to consume his energy. It was not the result of any emotional exchange, therefore he had no right to control her.
He also knew that one day she would kiss another demon other than him. But before that, he thought it would be enough if he gave his energy. He expected that she wouldn’t think of eating anyone else and that he himself would suffice. Born with a handsome face and supreme strength, he was confident in making it so.
However, he had not anticipated that the sly manager, who had stayed in the sidelines until now, would suddenly intervene.
As soon as he entered the portal, he had a gut feeling that something was wrong. It was because the filthy dark aura of Lisianthus felt even more intense. And the source was Adelaide. Traces of Lisianthus emanated from her body. He left a mark on her as if to boast that she was his.
‘You f*cking b*stard…!’
Caladium clenched his fists tightly. Huge veins popped out from his temple and neck.
It was the first time in 100 years that he became so angry. No, even when the dog-like incident happened 100 years ago, his anger did not boil up to this level. His lips trembled and he could feel his insides twisting. Ridiculous. It was the first time Caladium realized how terrifying jealousy was.
But what made his stomach twist even more was the fact that he didn’t have the right to be jealous of him. His relationship with Adelaide was nothing more than a dungeon master and her subordinate. He didn’t even have the right to tell her that she shouldn’t dare eat others. The anger that boiled like molten iron was his alone.
Caladium stared at Adelaide and bit his lower lip to the point that it bled. He was embarrassed that he got so angry and he didn’t know what to do. He could tell with just one look. He knew that his and Adelaide’s feelings were incomparably different.
‘I want to change this f*cking relationship.’
This was Caladium’s only wish. But he couldn’t say anything. He could only keep biting his already bleeding lip.
“Hmm, it’s a bit embarrassing. It just happened. I had an empty stomach yesterday…”
Adelaide added as an excuse. She was embarrassed that she had done it with two devils in one dungeon. Perhaps the other demons had similar thoughts, so they avoided her gaze or cleared their throats. Pia was the only one who did not change her expression.
Still, there was no law saying she shouldn’t, right? Adelaide shrugged her shoulders, as she thought this to herself.
“…Was it because I wasn’t here?”
Caladium asked slowly. Even though he was suppressing his emotions as much as he could, his voice cracked in the process. Sh*t. He muttered curse words, realizing that the words he had uttered were nothing more than a pathetic plea. Still, he couldn’t stop.
“If I was here, would you have chosen me?”
‘Say yes.’ The silver-gray eyes conveyed earnestly.
Adelaide nodded her head without hesitation. Had he been there, of course she would have asked him. She even asked Caladi to be called back from the very start, so she didn’t have any reason to eat Lisianthus.
At Adelaide’s reaction, Caladium’s hardened face softened a little. It was quite comforting to know that she didn’t have much affection for Lisianthus either.
He opened his mouth to whine even more. However, his words were interrupted by Lisianthus, who appeared with food just at the right time.
“From now on, take turns eating us, Master.”
“You’ll get tired of eating the same thing.” Lisianthus smiled prettily and suggested. His voice was so calm that when the other demons heard it, it sounded like he was simply telling her to eat rice and bread.
The Durahans, who became restless and could only stare, opened their mouths at his declaration. Today was the first time they felt fortunate that no one could see their faces. If it wasn’t for that, the others would have probably seen the back of their throats.
“You son of a b*tch… Just, what?”
“However, no matter how you look at it, that side is close to junk food. I would recommend that you eat more of mine.”
If he was trying to test how far Caladium could be angry, he succeeded. He felt blood rushing to the top of his head and was about to explode.
Caladium had forgotten the situation and tried to unleash his powers. If Adelaide hadn’t intervened, he would have really rushed in with the intent to kill him.
“Well, actually, I thought about it too.”
Adelaide twirled her hair with her index finger. Caladium’s reaction was more intense than expected, so it was not easy to continue speaking. However, she felt courage due to Lisianthus’ energy that flowed within her body. She felt full of vitality. Thanks to that, she gave an awkward smile and expressed her opinion.
“Like Lisian said, I think it’s better to take turns.”
Caladium asked blankly with a face that looked like his whole country was stolen from him.
“…What?”
“No matter how strong you are, if you lose energy frequently, it won’t be good for your body. Wouldn’t it be better to take turns eating for the sake of your health?”
“You are so kind that you even care about our health.”
Lisianthus pretended to be touched by her generosity. Adelaide also smiled as she felt better at his compliment. Caladium was speechless for a moment, feeling like he was the only idi*t here.
After a brief silence, he barely spoke with his face dyed as red as his own hair color.
“-best.”
However, the volume of his voice was so low that it was difficult to hear properly.
“Huh? What?”
Adelaide asked, tilting her head. The eyes of the demons were focused on him. With everyone’s attention on him, he raised his voice.
“D*mn it, you said I tasted the best!”
“Oh my Lord.” The Durahans gasped. Something was wrong with this. They couldn’t keep listening to these things. They should have run away earlier! Their bodies hardened like statues as they regretted.
[T/N: The Durahans and Skeletons have the best reactions I swear. XD]
“I didn’t say it was the best…”
“I just said it was delicious.” Adelaide added with an indifferent voice. She didn’t seem to care about the situation of the Durahans, who had to watch this love quarrel or whatever right in front of them.
As the conversation continued to flow in a strange direction, the Durahans could no longer stand it and got up.
“I’m not hungry today…”
“Sometimes fasting is good for your health.”
They chose to starve comfortably rather than stay in this awkward atmosphere and eat. Meanwhile, Raham grabbed Pia’s hand and whispered in a low voice as he headed for the room.
“Pia, did you feel embarrassed?”
“What? Not really.”
“…By the way, do you also want to meet several men?”
“Oh, no. I only have Raham. But Miss Adelaide is a great person, so it’s only natural to have multiple people, isn’t it?”
‘Did the heavenly race think this way? Or is our Pia a little more special?’ Raham tilted his head and moved forward.
Click. The sound stopped with the sound of their door closing. The three who remained in the living room were looking at each other as if they were still in a confrontation. Adelaide, unable to stand the silence, spoke first.
“Caladi, if you’re doing this because you feel uncomfortable, you don’t have to give me anymore. I’m sorry I didn’t think of you.”
“In a way, it’s like an indirect kiss.” Adelaide painted a terrible picture in their heads. The faces of Caladium and Lisianthus were distorted at the same time. They looked like they were about to vomit.
“…No.”
Caladium closed his eyes tightly and answered. His voice was still fierce, but it had softened considerably. He was not persuaded because of Pia’s words, which he had heard without missing anything due to his incredible hearing, but because there was no other way around this.
‘F*ck it, rather than just the two of us eating…!’
He clenched his teeth hard. Nothing good would come out from being angry and acting wild right now. Adelaide’s tastes gravitated towards the kind rather than the rude. If he was not innately kind, shouldn’t he pretend to be?
“Okay, eat b-b… Eat both…”
It felt like hell having to say each word. He struggled to suppress the rush of emotions and put a picturesque smile on his face.
“Adela, you know junk food tastes better, right?”
When the loud voice reached her ear, Adelaide swallowed her saliva without noticing it. Maybe it was because of those seductive eyes, or perhaps because the energy felt s*xy.
“So eat me more, more, more often.”
“Oh, uh…”
“No, Adele.”
Just as she was about to reply involuntarily, this time, Lisianthus gently wrapped his arms around her shoulder. When she turned her head, he came closer and smiled. It was a beautiful and evil smile.
“Adele should eat something luxurious to match her standards.”
“Otherwise, you’ll get sick.” Lisianthus added in a friendly voice.
Another staring contest with Adelaide in the middle, began. Adelaide looked at them and carefully grabbed her fork.
“Can’t we just eat breakfast?”
