Records Of Barton's Fantastical Events - Chapter 136
Chapter 136: Chapter 5 Grande’s Gap
Getting what he wanted to know, Zach, who was no longer interested in talking to the girl, stood up. After thinking about it, he decided to leave Alice alone. Instead of going to the kitchen, he raised his hand to block the sunlight and walked to the warehouse behind to find Benjamin.
In the warehouse, the werewolf had already taken off his clothes and quickly used abnormal means to assemble the shelves under the cover of clutter in the warehouse. The vampire laid down behind him, played with his fingers, and waited for the time to pass.
“Aren’t you going to talk to Lola?” Zach kicked the bottom of Benjamin’s boots. “She is very boring now.”
Benjamin cast a glance at Zach, ignoring him, turned over, and began to put clutter on the shelves. The waist-high marble block was picked up by the werewolf, like a hollow foam, and was thrown on the shelf. A huge falling sound rang out in the warehouse. This was the sound of a marble’s pride.
Benjamin’s mood towards Lola had a subtle change. Probably because the Grande Funeral Home was no longer safe now. Of course, this was just Zach’s guess. In fact, the last incident was indeed a wake-up call. This year, the Grande family has been attacked three times.
The Grande family was lucky. There were no outside witnesses in the last three attacks and no real losses were caused. But if thinking about it carefully again, Zach could find that it all started with the Grande family began to contact the outside world. The hunter brought by James, Papa Midnight brought by Spell, and Hellhounds brought by Daniel.
If the Grande family stayed silently in the Southern District of Barton like before and simply killed the people who violated their rules, then nothing would’ve happened. Perhaps, as the Gale couple said, the Grande family had really attracted too much attention.
Zach rolled up the sleeves of his shirt and began to help the werewolf sort out the clutter. Because it was a real warehouse, and there were no extra windows; there was only some sunlight shining through the skylight above the warehouse; so the interior was not very bright. Colorful light spots bypassed the gap of the shelves and gathered behind the two.
Daniel’s face was filled with concerns. Seeing the two of them were sorting things, he pressed his lips, reached out his hands, and pointed to a piece of marble. The radiating light spot held up a piece of marble and slowly floated to the empty space on the shelf.
Zach looked back at Daniel. “Daniel, what’s wrong.”
The Tulpa who gave up forming the solid body couldn’t hide his emotions well. The blue streamer leaked from his body and flowed slowly. This was the color of melancholy.
“Willie.” This was the name of the boy in the wheelchair, and there was hesitation on Daniel’s face. “He’s not doing well.”
Zach recalled the apartment. The neighborhood where Daniel lived was not a good place. It could be seen from the living conditions of his neighbors. The vampire carefully chose the direction of the conversation. He didn’t want to be asked to present his blood to a stranger.
“Do you want to see him?” Zach continued, smiling and continuing to sort out the clutter, “Crowlie will not do anything to you anymore. You can visit him at any time. Just be careful and don’t let Quest find out.”
Daniel understood what Zach meant. After joining the Grande family, it meant that he now belonged to the vampire and the werewolf. Nonhumans didn’t like people with unstable positions; so he could only ‘visit’. But he still shook his head, “Someone broke into his house.”
Zach put down the things in his hands, looked at Daniel, and asked, “Is he injured?”
“No.” Daniel smiled bitterly. “He is very smart. He did not resist.”
Zach raised his eyebrows. “Did he lose something?”
“No. Instead, he got a lot of money.” A red light began to show through Daniel’s body, which was the color of anger.
“So it isn’t a robbery?” Zach had some idea what it might be.
“Mhm. Those people are very interested in me.” The halo revealed a strange color under the mixture of colors.
Zach squinted, Quest was really someone who would use anyone. God knows what kind of person he used this time. They even used this kind of low-level method. Well, in the eyes of the vampire, all human methods were low-level.
Zach thought for a while, smiled, and patted Daniel on the shoulder, but Daniel did not condense his body into a solid form, so the vampire’s hand went through his body directly, disturbing the blurred color, “Don’t worry, maybe those people will come over today. Then you can deal with them however you like.”
The vampire didn’t despise the people who acted as private detectives among humans. Now that they had discovered the friendship between Daniel and Willie, if they didn’t bug Willie’s phone, they really worked in the wrong field.
Daniel seemed to only just realized this now, and after a brief stupefaction, a trace of apologetic expression appeared on his face. He realized that he had caused trouble for the Grande family again.
Zach waved his hand and didn’t care, but the Quest guy would probably harass the Grande family again. The joke-like restraint order would obviously no longer have the ability to solve the problem, and it seemed that he had to meet with Quest again.
Benjamin placed the marble on the shelf heavily, making a banging sound. He frowned, seemingly thinking of something.
Zach patted Benjamin on the shoulder. They had discussed this issue before. Since Mrs. Quinn’s request, they knew that they were on a path that no nonhuman had ever stepped on. So they had to learn everything themselves.
Benjamin looked at Zach, and the vampire saw a complex look in the werewolf’s eyes. Zach frowned, he realized that Benjamin’s Alpha heart had begun to recover. In addition to leading his own people, Alpha’s duty also included protection. Benjamin had already failed once. After the failure, Alpha shut himself off from the nonhuman world, stayed beside the vampire, and moved towards a new life.
The former Grande was a combination of several nonhumans who lived together. If they encountered problems, as long as they could keep moving forward together, they didn’t really care that much. After all, all of them were alone.
But now, in Grande, there was another wolf, Matthew. Benjamin’s heart had a gap between his wolf pack and the Grande family. Obviously, as an Alpha that had a young wolf under its protection, Benjamin began to worry whether the current Grande’s way of life would have a bad influence on his wolf pack.
The last thing the vampire wanted to see still happened, but he didn’t worry that Benjamin would want to leave Grande, because Grande had Alice. Putting aside friendship and all the good things, Alpha would not make the decision to leave a banshee in terms of benefit alone.
Of course, Zach didn’t want things to develop to that point.
Daniel watched the two keep passing messages with their eyes, and the reasons that initially made him hesitate about joining the Grande family came to his mind again.
A vampire and a werewolf; how did they get together? ! Would this really be okay? Would he need to choose one side in the future? !
