Reborn: Super God of War - Chapter 283
Chapter 283: The Land of Plague
“Choose!”
An exchanging column appeared in front of Lin Jie, listing out tens of all kinds of rare items, high-level potions, Dark Gold equipment, and so on… Amongst them was the Bull Potion, which needed 3 New Age Accomplishment Points to buy, but Lin Jie only had 1 point.
Even if it was so, his choices were still quite many: 20 free Stat Points, increasing of Health Points limit, Random Equipment Gift Bag, Random Skill Book Gift Bag, and so on.
“These are all items bestowed by god, so if your luck is good enough, you may even obtain Legendary skills! Legendary equipment! Legendary servants!” The Demigod used a bewitching tone, tempting Lin Jie to buy the Gift Bag.
Lin Jie turned his nose up to the Demigod!
Indeed, the variety of Gift Bags that could be exchanged from the Demigod seemed to be very worth it: 1 New Age Accomplishment Point to exchange for one Gift Bag, and there were chances of obtaining Legendary skills or equipment—there couldn’t be a better bargain than this! However, in reality, this kind of fluke mind mentality of the players ruined their futures.
They would go through innumerable hardships to save up just 1 Accomplishment Point to try their luck, but the result would just be a piece of Bronze equipment, what kind of feeling would that be?
Many people would reply, “Saving one’s luck up! The next time I will definitely obtain a good item!’
If a Gold item was obtained, then there was no loss. If one obtained a Dark Gold item, then they had earned it, but what if they obtained Legendary items? Then wouldn’t they have gotten rich overnight?
Therefore, they would continue to save up and open Gift Bags! When they would realize that others had used these points to steadily strengthen themselves and had gotten much stronger, leaving them far in the dust, they would already have used the tens of The New Age Accomplishment Points they had saved up in a few years! It would be too late to regret it by then.
“I want to exchange one Skill Point,” said Lin Jie.
The Demigod was stunned. “Are you sure you do not want to exchange for Gift Bags? As the first alternate realms’ human to open the Gift Bag, the chances of you obtaining a Legendary item is much higher than those opening it subsequently, and you can even obtain an accomplishment!”
“There’s no need, thank you.” Lin Jie continued to persist in his own choice.
“Alright, as you wish.”
Ding~
—’You have received 1 Skill Point.”
Lin Jie was elated, a Skill Point! That was an item that could directly increase the level of one’s skill! However, Lin Jie did not plan to use it now because that would be too much of a waste as it was extremely difficult to obtain Skill Points. Strictly speaking, only when one’s skill level reached level 19 was the most suitable time to use it.
After finishing, the exchanging column also disappeared.
“Great Lord Demigod, I have come this time mainly for this Primordial Secret Scroll.” Lin Jie was very generous with his flattery towards the Demigod and did not hesitate to butter the Demigod up. “I have searched for a few famous heroes such as the Wind Rider Sword Saint and Light Saint… However, none of them could decipher this secret scroll, so I could only come and ask for help from the mighty and knowledgeable you.”
The Demigod laughed heartily. “You flatter me! Just a scroll only, give it to me!”
The Demigod waved his hand, and the patterns on the secret scroll transformed into strange characters which were wiggly like earthworms, making one’s eyes to be sore from looking. The Demigod said sternly, “This is Dark Swordsmanship! The Guild of Light does not have such a technique. You can take this secret scroll to the Tribe of Darkness, catch a few Necromancers and let them break the Undead Seal on it.”
‘Technique?’ Lin Jie’s eyes lit up. ‘In this case, it’s not an equipment mission? That’s great!’ With Lin Jie’s equipment now, it could be said that he stood at the peak of the players. There were only two ways to increase his strength: One, continue leveling up Beast King or the Kiara Beast King Armor. Two, find a high-level skill! Currently, this Epic Job-Changing Mission’s reward was actually a technique, which was equal to a skill—that elated Lin Jie.
As to the suggestion of capturing a few Necromancers, Lin Jie automatically ignored it. A Guild of Light player entering Tribe of Darkness was simply playing with fire, getting oneself killed.
Lin Jie placed Emilia’s tear gently on the secret scroll, and the earthworm-like characters gradually became clearer.
“Oh? You actually have such an item! The tear of a Three-Headed Basilisk is extremely difficult to obtain as these monsters only know how to slaughter and hate, wanting them to cry is a few hundred times harder than killing them, not to mention such a tear of gratitude. It looks like you are also a person who has your own encounters.” The Demigod nodded his head. He was very surprised at the fact that Lin Jie had such an item.

—’The characters gradually changed by looking closer, you seemed to have noticed words such as [Tower of Plague], [Fog], [Deathbringer]. “Just what is that thing,” you muttered, and just at that moment, a map appeared in front of you.’
—Mission notice: Head towards The Land of Plague and find the village on the map.
The clue had appeared! Lin Jie was elated, and after he bade farewell to the Demigod, he immediately headed towards The Land of Plague.
After the uprising of the Devils Fork, a meteor had fallen from the sky and landed on this land. All the villagers had been corrupted and transformed into monsters such as Undead, Zombies, and Spirits.
The moment Lin Jie stepped into The Land of Plague, he smelled a moldy and stinky scent that came from the Undead in front of him where the Undead’s whole body was rotten.
[Undead Affric] (Elite)
Level 35
Health Points: 40,000
Attack: 452-655
Defense: 220
Note: Affric’s hometown is not far away, you can vaguely hear him speak of his lover’s name “Alse” from his mouth as an Undead.
The monsters in The Land of Plague were all Elites without exception! The missions in this map were also different from those of other maps as there were no NPCs that would take the initiative to release missions. Players needed to lure all the related monsters and kill them together before one could accept the mission to purify their corpses, and thus obtaining the mission reward in the end.
The experience points reward from the missions were quite good, so there were some Paladins and Priests that teamed up to level up here. However, these missions did not even attract Lin Jie in the slightest.
Lin Jie took a look at the map, the mission location was at the center of The Land of Plague.
“Hey, brother!” When Lin Jie stood up, he heard a Paladin named “Owner of Wind Listening Pavilion” call out to him. “Are you going inside to The Land of Plague?”
Lin Jie nodded. “Yes.”
“I advise you not to go inside, the monsters inside are all crazy!” The Paladin said kindheartedly, “All of the monsters are under Enrage mode status. No one knows the reason why. Also, we had encountered the sneak attack of large numbers of Bandit monsters when we went deeper into the center for only less than five minutes. It would be better if you just stay in the outer region to farm monsters.”
Lin Jie could not help but feel gratitude in his heart. He smiled and said, “Thank you for the reminder, but my mission location is in there, I will be careful.”
“Hey, Wind Listening! Let him go in if he wants to, why waste your effort and remind him?”
“Do you still want to continue fighting? Hurry and come back!”
The few teammates were already impatient, they were just on the hype of farming monsters, but then their MT had gone to be “Lei Feng[1]. That made them, who had the principle of “letting things drift if they do not affect one personally”, feel annoyed by what Wind Listening did.
Owner of Wind Listening Pavillion scratched his head and stretched out his hand to apply a Strength Blessing on Lin Jie. He then smiled and said, “Be careful and watch your back.”
“Got it, thank you.” Lin Jie nodded solemnly.
[Strength Blessing]: Increases 25 points of Strength and 15 points of weapon’s Attack Power. It lasts for 30 minutes.
After entering deeper into The Land of Plague, Lin Jie indeed saw a wave of Undead, Ghouls, Spirits, and Banshee that were blood-red all over! All of them were Elites above level 35, they were so concentrated and densely spawned that there were over 400 of them!
Lin Jie touched his nose. ‘It can’t be that the system specially prepared this for me, right?’
When players carried out missions of high difficulty, main plot missions, or missions related to historical events, the system would change part of the map for the players. Sometimes it would also release opposing missions that would be accepted by another batch of players to make the players fight. These missions’ difficulty was greater and had better rewards, but they were very hard to encounter.
Lin Jie took a look at his EXP bar, and it was currently at level 30, 45%. To complete his ob-changing mission, it had been a long time since Lin Jie had properly farmed monsters and raise his levels. That being the case, it was best to farm to his heart’s content first!
He gulped down the Berserker Potion and Light Potion before concentrating his attention. Then, he shouted loudly, “B*stards!”
Taunt was activated!
A Ghoul with dark yellowish eyes turned its head towards Lin Jie, the teeth, which were exposed to the outside, let out frightening gnashing sounds that sent shivers down one’s spine! As the grinding sounds of the Ghoul’s teeth could be heard, the other Undead all rushed towards Lin Jie one after the other!
“Enchanted Scaly Armor!” Lin Jie held Broken Blade, the veins in his whole body expanded, and Blood Vigor was poured into the surface of his skin, forming pitch-black armor made of scales! As his Defense value increased greatly, Lin Jie looked like a Dragonite from afar.
“Ah—Ah—!”
The Enraged Ghoul pierced its sharp claws into Lin Jie’s naked arm as if it was crazy but was blocked by the scale armor—its claw could not scratch it at all!
-2!
“Hahaha, Enchanted Scaly Armor can allow me to ignore the attacks from Elite Undead already. Undoubtedly, it’s the exclusive skill of the Naga!” Lin Jie laughed heartily. Hundreds of monsters surrounded him, but only a few tens of them could attack, and the damage they dealt to Lin Jie was as if just scratching an itch.
Lin Jie activated Death Rage with an Army Obliteration. The sword auras were like the strong winds engulfing the Atlas Peak. They blew at them like vigorously, tore a large area of Undead apart, and blew them away!
-1,503!
-3,457!
-1,628!
The dense damage that popped up nearly covered all of Lin Jie’s line of sight! The combo of Shield Cut after Weakness Exploit was activated, and the monsters’ health points decreased by a little less than half in a swoosh! The next attacks followed up, and tens of Ghouls fell down and died, becoming a pool of blood on the ground.
Blood Light Multi-Slash!
A Blood-red light ray towered in the sky, and the Undead surrounding Lin Jie was cleaned up in an instant!
The experience points of 400 Undead increased his EXP bar by around 7%! If the number of Undead could be maintained, then wouldn’t his speed of leveling up be the same as riding a rocket? But what a pity there weren’t that many Undead. Lin Jie searched for about half an hour, but he only killed around four waves of about 100 Undead.
Besides experience points, the Undead also dropped a few Bronze items—well, it was better than nothing.
As Lin Jie went deeper, the Tower of Plague gradually appeared within his line of sight. Fog surrounded it and hid the tall tower within. The dark plague auras gradually gathered to form Disaster Orbs that emanated the disastrous power of death and darkness!
“This is the place.” Lin Jie’s eyes turned cold. ‘Deathbringer must be within it!’
“Fog Concealment!”
Lin Jie waved his right hand, and the fog became denser at where he stood, instantly covering him up.
