Rebirth to a Military Marriage: Good Morning Chief Novel - Chapter 952
Chapter 952: The Opponent Was Too Formidable
“Right, how can I forget about it!” The president slapped himself on the head. “The senior will come to the school the day after tomorrow. I heard that the school invited him to give a talk to the juniors, sharing with them the current development and trends.”
“I understand!” There was no need for the president to say anything more. Zou Wenxuan understood what she should do next. “I will definitely sit in to listen.”
Zou Wenxuan went to listen to the talk. However, she did not expect to run into someone she least expected. “Qiao Nan, are you interested in this?”
Qiao Nan was also taken aback to see Zou Wenxuan. “I…” Could she say that she was not interested but she received the invitation for no reason and she came out of courtesy to take a look?
“It is such a coincidence. Let’s go together.” Zou Wenxuan smiled. She was not that surprised to see Qiao Nan there. Zou Wenxuan had heard a lot about the senior. He was what they called the top student.
Senior Gao skipped the levels when he was in high school. He was in his second year for half a year before he took the college entrance examination with the other third-year students in the second semester of his second year in school. He scored flying colors and joined Peking University.
Thereafter, the senior seemed to be on a roll. His progress was much faster than other students in the university.
Of course, Zou Wenxuan also heard that the senior had some connections. He was capable and smart enough to sit for the college entrance examination when he was only in his second year in high school.
In fact, when he was in high school, he was already learning the university syllabus.
Zou Wenxuan heard that the senior had a high IQ. He was a talent and was capable of skipping levels since a young age. But for certain reasons, he did not do so. However, he was able to make progress in his studies faster than other students.
But it seemed that when he was in high school, he no longer wished to take the usual route like what he did in elementary school and junior high school. He skipped levels and cut down a lot of time.
What impressed Zou Wenxuan the most was that the senior not only cut down the time that he had to study at the university, but he also took a double major. However, she was perplexed about one thing. He was a genius and had a good family background. He clearly had the ability to study overseas.
However, he had no intention of doing that and started his own business as soon as he graduated.
Back then, many people ridiculed the senior for letting go of the big prize while grabbing at trifles, saying that he should have gone for further studies since he was young. Why was he in a hurry to start his business?
The senior was smarter and more capable than others. He took less time to graduate from university and was more successful than others in doing business. It was not long after he graduated that he made it big in the capital and was deemed as the role model of his juniors.
The school invited him to give a small talk this time. Zou Wenxuan knew that in another two to three years’ time, the school would invite the senior back for a big scale lecture.
The senior was talented, wealthy, and handsome. Many female students were interested in him. When Zou Wenxuan was in her first year, she used to like such influential figures like him. It was a pity that they did not have the chance to know each other.
Zou Wenxuan gave Qiao Nan a scornful smile. Qiao Nan was from another faculty, yet she came to sit in for the talk. She was not as beyond material gains as what she seemed. She was similar to those infatuated fools. “I am acquainted with the senior, and I want to talk to him regarding some matters. Why don’t I introduce you to him? His company is doing very well. If we perform well enough, we may have the chance to work there. After all, we are from Peking University. We have an advantage over others.”
“Wow, Senior Zou is experienced and knowledgeable.” Qiao Nan knew that Zou Wenxuan was being boastful. She followed along to sing her praises.
Although they were not from the same society, Qiao Nan sang her praises like she was her senior. After all, she did not do anything that was way overboard to her.
“Well, we are from the same faculty. I should look out for you. Senior Gao is very busy. In fact, he has to make time for today’s talk. Remember to be careful with your words when you see him later. Even though he is an alumnus, he is, after all, a CEO. He is different from us. If you anger him, I will not be able to help you.”
Zou Wenxuan dared not boast that given her friendship with the senior, she would be able to help Qiao Nan even if she caused any trouble.
Zou Wenxuan was being smart about this.
“Thank you, Senior Zou.” Qiao Nan did not refuse her ‘kind intentions’. She merely frowned, showing that she was in a difficult position.
The reason being she saw Xu Shengnan.
Xu Shengnan pulled Qiao Nan aside. “Senior Gao is here for a talk. Initially, I am worried about the funds. But this is a good opportunity for us. His company is doing very well. If you are able to get along well with him, you will be able to receive sponsorship from him. It will save you a lot of effort. Don’t worry. I won’t leave everything to you. I will get you a ticket and I will be there as well. I will help you by the side.”
Xu Shengnan felt that Qiao Nan was still a freshman. She was inexperienced and she might be shy.
Senior Gao was already in the workforce. He would be more tolerant of a freshman like Qiao Nan who was ignorant of the ways of the world. He would not blame her for it.
Xu Shengnan left after that. Qiao Nan was at a loss.
Qiao Nan was already troubled that the vice president entrusted her with the task of fundraising. She had no confidence in completing the task and she was clueless as to how she should go about it.
Right now, the vice president had directed her to someone that she could get sponsorship from. It pointed her in a certain direction. However, Qiao Nan had no idea what she should say or do to get the sponsorships. It did not help her much.
In particular, she ran into Zou Wenxuan at the venue. Qiao Nan had an ominous feeling about it.
Regardless of which club it was, unless the secretary’s family was wealthy or had relatives who were businessmen, it would not be easy to secure funds to organize events.
Furthermore, many students might meet the criteria of being the secretary. However, they did not know people in the capital. Their networks were limited to those from their hometown.
The school did not encourage students to ask their parents for money to sponsor the club or the events that were organized.
Qiao Nan had been pondering about this. She knew that the vice president was not the only person who had the plans of getting sponsorships from the senior.
