Rebirth Of The Noble Mage Behind The Scenes Novel - Chapter 25
Chapter 25: Mysterious Big pigeon?
After telling Fiona about the mysterious legend of the cats, Anvis returned to his room under his sister’s admiring gaze.
But just as he stepped through his door, Anvis noticed something unusual.
A strange white figure appeared outside the window near the writing desk.
From the outline, it looked like a giant pigeon.
A pigeon?
In that instance, Anvis was confused that he was a player again but remembered otherwise.
Although it looked similar to a player’s messenger pigeon, this one was at least three times the size of an ordinary messenger pigeon. It was even bigger than the watermelon on the Earth.
To be able to fly to the Moonset Castle high up on the snowy peaks, it might be some kind of ice-type magical beast pigeon.
Anvis approached it slowly, studying it with interest.
But when he got closer, he realized that something was wrong.
At this moment, the pigeon’s body was facing the window diagonally. The tip of a snow-white tail pierced through the enchanted window and directly into the room!
It penetrated the window?
As if noticing the young man’s gaze, the pigeon turned its head, its red-black round eyes meeting the young man’s blue ones.
Anvis was a little surprised to see that the pigeon was fearless under his gaze.
As expected of a pigeon from the magical world. It was so big and was not afraid of people…
While Anvis was observing it, the pigeon suddenly turned around and walked two steps with its head stuck out.
From the platform outside the window, he directly passed through the transparent Enchanted Glass and entered the room.
It could even penetrate glass…
“Coo? You saw it, coo?”
Standing on the broken window sill inside the window, the pigeon tilted its head and looked closely at Anvis. Suddenly it spoke.
It could even speak…
It spoke?!
Anvis’s expression twitched. He took a deep breath to sort out his emotions before he spoke.
“Yes, I see you, mr pigeon… Your Excellency.”
Thinking about it carefully, this was a world of swords and magic after all. Many things could not be explained with common sense.
Keep calm, keep calm…
“pigeon coo? In your perception, coo I look like a pigeon, coo?”
The white pigeon tilted its head and took two more steps forward. It jumped to a small round table with a white porcelain vase on it.
This time, Anvis could clearly see that a part of its body was “embedded” into the vase.
The lilac Hyacinthus Grass that had been stuck in the vase came straight out of its folded right wing. It looked very strange.
“So, are you summoning me, coo?”
“Me? Summon?”
“Three days ago, someone summoned coo here, so coo—”
Anvis calmed down completely.
The night three days ago happened to be the time for him to fully absorb the mysterious energy.
Obviously, it was another arrangement of the wishing spell.
“If the summoning you mentioned is on the night three days ago and the location is in this room, then I’m afraid it’s me.”
Upon receiving Anvis’ reply, the pigeon immediately jumped and flew up, landing on top of his head.
The young noble was surprised by the pigeon’s action. He instinctively shrank his head to avoid the pigeon’s flapping wings.
But at the next moment, he felt something amiss.
It was weightless!
With its watermelon-sized body, Anvis originally expected it to weigh at least a few kilograms.
However, when the pigeon landed on him, there was no sense of weight at all!
Anvis moved his head awkwardly, even though he didn’t feel anything above his head.
“You’re pretty special, coo—”
While Anvis was thinking, pigeon tilted his head and sized up the pale and handsome young man.
“Coo, after being in this world for so long, you’re still the first of your ‘kind’ to see Coo—”
“Although they’re similar to you, they can’t sense coo’s existence, coo, and they won’t be affected by coo—”
Anvis felt a sense of familiarity growing stronger as he listened to the pigeon’s self-explanation.
If the NPCs could not sense it, it would be the messenger pigeons of the players! However, they did not know what grade it was.
“My name is Anvis, Anvis Olivendi. How may I address you?”
As he introduced himself, Anvis sat down at the desk and lit up the elegant magic crystal table lamp.
The pigeon also flew up from his shoulder and landed on the desk illuminated by the light.
However, under the warm yellow light, there was no shadow under the pigeon.
“You mean Coo’s name, coo? Coo doesn’t have a name, coo—you can call it by your preference, coo—”
“I understand. Then, I’ll call you pigeon.”
Anvis nodded. At the same time, he pulled out a piece of pale yellow parchment. He dipped a quill with a ruby in it into the silver ink in the bottle and quickly drew a strange symbol on the paper.
Anvis had found it in his memory. It was a special detection-type inscription array, usually used to detect sound waves, spiritual force fluctuations, and other special fluctuations.
When paired with a special quill and magic ink, there was no need to guide the drawing with spiritual power. As long as a trace of spiritual power was injected after the drawing was completed, it would be effective.
As long as the outline was accurate enough, it could be used even by those who had yet to reach a certain level of spiritual power.
“pigeon, can you describe the way you exist?”
“Coo—I can explain it to you, coo, but I can’t guarantee that you can understand, coo!”
The pigeon flapped its wings and raised its head. As it was very close, Anvis instinctively narrowed his eyes.
“I am real and fake!”
“I exist and I don’t exist!”
“The past is my feather, and the future is my flesh and blood!”
“The Fool doesn’t see me, and the Wise doesn’t see me ~”
He sang out a line in a strange, singsong voice, and the pigeon stopped.
“According to what you can understand, coo is a part of the low-dimensional of the epoch, the mighty ‘Karnvoda’ coo—”
Anvis:…?
I couldn’t understand it, but I felt like it was pretty awesome.
Although his mind was filled with question marks, his expression did not change. He only took a deep look at pigeon.
When one did not understand the other party’s words but did not want to be discovered, a deep look was the best way to deal with it.
Glancing at the paper, there was no reaction from the symbols on it.
“It’s meaningless, coo—”
pigeon looked down at the paper and raised his head in disdain.
“Just because you can sense me doesn’t mean that other things can sense me too, coo—”
Anvis nodded and crumpled the paper into a ball and threw it into the waste paper basket.
At the very least, he was sure that the pigeon did not communicate with him through voice or spirit power. The family talisman on his chest did not warn him, which meant it was not an illusion either.
