Rebirth: Ghost Exorciser - Chapter 470
Chapter 470: There Really are Ghosts In the World
After Xiao Gao fell asleep, Yu Rong bore in mind that she absolutely couldn’t open the door after midnight. All her attention was on the door.
In the blink of an eye, an hour passed. Yu Rong didn’t hear any movements and was a little sleepy. Just as she heaved a sigh of relief and was about to go to sleep, there suddenly was knocking on the door.
“I’m Manqing’s attending physician. Please open the door!”
Yu Rong was already a little sleepy. When she heard the commotion, she subconsciously wanted to open the door. However, just as her hand touched the door handle, she suddenly remembered what Celestial Master Chi had said. Yu Rong immediately shuddered.
Before she could open the door, the person outside repeated, “I’m Manqing’s attending physician. Please open the door!”
Yu Rong didn’t notice just now, but this time, she clearly heard that it was a hoarse and strange female voice. Putting aside whether this voice was strange or not, Manqing’s attending physician was clearly a man.
Yu Rong’s blood froze as she stared at the door of the ward in fear. She finally understood Manqing’s fear from the past few days, and her fingers turned pale.
Seeing that the door was still closed, the knocking got increasingly louder. At first, the thing outside the door still had the patience to call itself an attending physician, but when the door refused to open, the banging got louder and louder.
The noise woke Xiao Gao up. Xiao Gao didn’t react at first, and said to Yu Rong, “Sister Yu, someone is knocking on the door!” As he spoke, he subconsciously stood up to open the door.
Luckily, Yu Rong was quick enough to grab Xiao Gao. When Xiao Gao finally came to his senses and realized what was happening, he was terrified.
The banging got louder and louder. The thing outside was even shouting Yu Rong’s name.
At that moment, Yu Rong’s face was deathly pale. Her limbs went soft, her lips turned blue with fear, and her hands gripped the talisman tightly.
Xiao Gao shouted in fear, “Sister Yu, it’s really… it’s really a ghost!”
Luckily, Yu Rong was calm enough. She recalled what Master Chi said earlier: As long as they didn’t open the door, they would be fine. Only then did Yu Rong’s pale face gradually recover a little. However, there was perpetual cold sweat on her forehead, and twisted strands of her hair stuck to it, making it look like she had just washed her face.
Yu Rong and Xiao Gao didn’t sleep the whole night. They were so scared that their faces were pale. When the sky gradually brightened, the banging on the door gradually stopped.
The two of them waited until half past eight in the morning, and were given a fright when the doctor and nurse knocked on the door.
Only after confirming that it really was the hospital doctor and nurse did they dare open the door.
Yu Rong was very glad that she had called Xiao Gao over last night. Otherwise, she would have been scared out of her wits. She trusted Master Chi more and more.
Too scary! Too scary!
No wonder Manqing looked so haggard the past few days.
While she had half-believed it was something supernatural when the ghost claw appeared in Zhou Manqing’s photos, she hadn’t really felt anything. Occasionally, she would wonder if Manqing was scaring herself.
After last night, however, she now truly believed that there really were ghosts in this world. Thinking this, Yu Rong made up her mind that when Master Chi came today, she would definitely buy more talismans for her family, for fear that they would be as unlucky as Manqing, and run into evil.
Yu Rong didn’t even dare imagine such a terrifying scene!
Chi Shuyan arrived at the hospital at nine o’clock sharp. Zhou Manqing had finally woken up. Compared with her crazy state yesterday, she looked better today and was calmer.
However, Yu Rong and Xiao Gao’s expressions weren’t as good.
Chi Shuyan glanced at the two of them silently. Her lip curled slightly. It seemed that Manager Yu had had a thrilling night last night!
When Zhou Manqing saw Chi Shuyan, she was enthusiastic and solicitous. “Master Chi, you’re here! You’re really here!”
