Rebirth: Ghost Exorciser - Chapter 151
Chapter 151: Feng Yanli’s Intentions
In the Feng home.
“Shuyan, this is my house. Last time, you were the only one who didn’t come for my birthday. What a pity. In the past, no matter how busy you were, you would do your best to be there.” Feng Yanli sighed and lowered her head in disappointment.
She thought that Chi Shuyan would comfort her like before, but even after a long while, it was still so silent that one could hear a pin drop.
Keeping her head bowed, Feng Yanli, who was pretending to be dejected and distressed, stiffened. After waiting for a long time for Chi Shuyan’s reply, she looked a bit embarrassed and didn’t know whether to lift her head or lower it.
Feng Yanli gritted her teeth and looked up to see Chi Shuyan looking at the scenery outside the window and not paying attention to her at all. Her sharp eyes noticed the curious scrutiny of the driver in front and she felt ashamed. She secretly resented Chi Shuyan for shaming her in front of someone else and flew into a humiliated rage. On the surface, however, she feigned a sad, brave smile. “Shuyan, can you really not give me another chance?”
“I’d rather not. It’s only now that I understand a principle: Good-looking people should hang out with good-looking people.” Chi Shuyan examined Feng Yanli’s face, then said in a particularly serious and pensive tone, “No wonder we couldn’t hang out together back then.”
The driver in front couldn’t help but chuckle when he heard this, but when he noticed Feng Yanli’s unsightly face, his smile quickly disappeared.
The sentimental atmosphere that Feng Yanli had worked so hard to create was completely ruined by Chi Shuyan. Her face was like a colorful palette. What the hell did she mean? How dare she twist things around and call her ugly? How dare, this b*tch?
Feng Yanli’s eyes swept over Chi Shuyan’s stunning beauty, and the jealousy in her eyes almost overflowed. She almost couldn’t maintain her composure and was fuming with rage, wishing she could slap her. However, she could only hold her breath and squeeze out an ugly smile as she feigned nonchalance. “We’re here, let’s get out of the car!”
Chi Shuyan glanced at Feng Yanl’s utterly discomfited figure as she got out of the car first, and sneered. She had deliberately poked at her sore spot, knowing that what Feng Yanli cared about most was her looks.
The moment Chi Shuyan got out of the car, she obviously sensed traces of a resentful and prickly gaze, but didn’t think much of it.
Feng Yanli stared coldly at Chi Shuyan’s back and cursed inwardly. Just you wait. Go ahead and be proud. Sooner or later, she would skin this b*tch! Let’s see how proud you’ll be then!
Chi Shuyan wasn’t at all surprised that Feng Yanli had thought up a way to have her take a look around, but she also wanted to see what she was supposed to be buying.
Chi Shuyan’s five senses were sharp, and as they walked and looked around, she immediately felt a greedy scrutiny, just like in her past life. That stare was like that of a worm or rat in the sewers, and it gave her goosebumps.
Chi Shuyan took a quick glance before she lowered her eyes and averted her gaze without batting an eyelid.
Feng Yanli left for a short while halfway, and when she came back, she was full of smiles and was even more amiable toward Chi Shuyan. This time, even if Chi Shuyan were to pick a fight, she would still be gentle and good-natured.
Along the way, Feng Yanli racked her brain and rambled on until it got dark. She feigned surprise and looked at the sky. “It’s so late, Shuyan, why didn’t you tell me?” Seeing that Chi Shuyan was about to speak, Feng Yanli suddenly remembered how she had been rendered speechless earlier, and choked. As if she were facing a great enemy, she continued, “I didn’t expect the time to fly by. Shuyan, don’t go back today. Why don’t you stay at my house for the night? I’ll send you back in the morning.” After speaking, she looked at Chi Shuyan with expectant eyes.
Chi Shuyan also took a look at the sky, and an indecipherable expression flashed in her eyes before she nodded.
