Provocative Fiery Wife: My Superior is an Affectionate Spitfire - Chapter 857
Chapter 857: You definitely did not do the deed with him.
“M-Miss Qiao, w-what are you saying?”
What seal the deal? What… did she mean by getting pregnant with the young master’s child?!
Even though she considered this lady to be a good match for her young master, she had never thought of something like that happening!
“What do you mean by that?”
Sister Yun frowned, confusion flashing across her eyes.
“Today is the day that he gets engaged. I feel terrible.” Qiao Jingyun began crying without directly answering the question.
Teardrops streamed down her face as though they were crystal beads.
Although she had makeup on, it was waterproof and was, thus, unaffected by her tears. The way tears streamed down her face silently made one’s heart ache for her.
“You could tell how close we were back then.” She continued to sob softly.
“Actually, I did go out with him in the past, but because uncle disliked me, we never went public with our relationship.
“Even so, I never thought that we would one day separate, so before I left for New York, once, he and I…”
She trailed off and just wept bitterly.
Still, despite her words going unfinished, how could the elderly woman not make out what she had wanted to say?
Besides, open-ended statements were ambiguous and left much to the imagination, especially to stuff that was unlikely to happen.
“O-Once?!” Sister Yun’s eyes widened, and she looked at this lady with shock. “This… t-this…”
She opened and closed her mouth several times, but she was unable to form a coherent sentence.
In fact, she was in a state of shock and did not know what to say at the moment. The revelation was just too shocking.
Thinking about it now, her young master did not seem to have returned to the villa or his apartment the day this lady left.
She remembered clearly that the master was even mad at her young master back then…
“It’s fine. Today remains the day that he gets engaged. You should go help out; I’d like some time alone,” Qiao Jingyun said with a lonely smile. She recognized how shocked the elderly woman was but did not give her ample time to react.
Sister Yun only returned from her shock when she heard the woman say that.
Pursing her lips, she looked at the sorrowful and feigned strength on the lady’s face and felt even sorrier for her.
“Don’t worry. Our young master will certainly change his mind one day.”
She comforted her.
“Change his mind… How will he change his mind still? He’s already getting engaged to her today. When she’s pregnant…”
Qiao Jingyun smiled sadly as she looked afar.
Pregnant? Child?
Right!
Sister Yun’s eyes lit up, and she looked excitedly at her.
“Miss Qiao, if you’re pregnant with our young master’s child, he surely will change his mind!”
“Are you kidding me? How can I have his child?”
Her words seemed to cause Qiao Jingyun to be in a daze. Immediately after, she shook her head and started laughing.
“No matter what, please don’t give up. You’re the one truly meant for my young master—”
“Alright. Thank you for everything you’ve done for me, but I really need some time alone now.” She told the elderly woman with a bitter smile, cutting her off mid-speech.
“Okay, then, Miss Qiao, I’ll take my leave now. Please don’t overthink it.”
Looking at downtrodden expression on her face, Sister Yun knew that this special day was a huge blow on her.
Thus, even though she had a million things she wanted to say to her, she still left the secluded place.
As she watched the woman disappear, the bitterness and sorrow on Qiao Jingyun’s face disappeared entirely.
In its place was an icy-cold expression.
Clap, clap, clap!
A sudden applause sounded in that secluded corner.
The crisp, clear applause resonated in her ears.
Qiao Jingyun was not flustered, though. In fact, her expression did not even change.
“I didn’t expect you to have become even more formidable in the years that I haven’t seen you. These acting skills, even I can’t compare.”
A figure in light green clothes appeared from a dark corner alongside the cold, soft female voice.
“Pei Shishi.”
There was no sign of shock on her face upon seeing this figure. It was as if she had known that the woman was hiding there all along.
“He he! I’m really curious. Did he really sleep with you?”
The woman looked coldly and mockingly at her.
Even though she sounded as if she were asking a question, she continued speaking without waiting for an answer.
“I’m guessing that you’ve never done it with him. He he. Someone like you, if you really did something with him, my cousin would never be in the picture.”
Pei Shishi pouted, her gaze spiteful.
She was clear of this woman’s antics. She had always liked to use ambiguity to her advantage.
She would say a part of something, leading someone into believing her lies.
“If you really performed the deed with him, how would you end up being forced to flee overseas? Don’t you think so?”
