Provocative Fiery Wife: My Superior is an Affectionate Spitfire - Chapter 488
Chapter 488: Miss Pei, you have become too arrogant.
“Achoo!”
Pei Ge, who was absentmindedly reading a book in the study room on the second floor, suddenly sneezed.
“Is Xiaoyu missing me? He he!” She rubbed her nose and smiled sillily.
Shortly after, she sneezed again.
“Achoo!”
“Could it be that someone is scolding me?” She rubbed her nose again and frowned this time.
That annoying fellow must be scolding me! There’s no one else besides him who’ll do that!
“Hmph!” She lightly snorted and then flipped another page of the magazine in her hands.
Seeing the uber dull content of the financial magazine, she nudged her lips in dissatisfaction.
“This is so boring!” she mumbled gloomily. There’s barely anything nice to read here.
This was when she finally believed that the man did not own that romantic book she had previously found in his VIP hospital ward!
“Seriously. Making me come up here to read, doesn’t he know that his book collection has literally nothing enjoyable to check out?! Sadly, the stupid computer in this study room actually needs a password to access!” There’s no WiFi here, too! Does he want me to die of boredom?!
As she was complaining about all that, a series of footsteps sounded from outside the door.
Her eyes instantly lit up at the sound of these measured steps.
Did that annoying fellow follow me up here?!
She eagerly closed the magazine and returned it to the bookshelf.
However, once that was done and she turned around, the person she saw was not the man.
“Miss Pei, young master is calling you down to eat.”
The person turned out to be Sister Yun whom she was not exactly on friendly terms with.
“Oh.” As slight disappointment flashed across her eyes, she failed to notice the slight hostility that fleeted across the Sister Yun’s eyes.
She followed the woman out of the study room.
Tak, tak, tak! Their footsteps sounded against the wooden floor.
Since she was not close to the Sister Yun and they even had an existing unhappiness between them, she did not bother trying to strike up a conversation with her on their way down.
Still… Just because she did not bother conversing with her did not mean that the latter would not do so.
“Miss Pei, I want to say something that you may not like to hear, but I hope that you will not get angry because of it.” Although her words were polite, her tone was anything but that.
“Sister Yun, since you said yourself that it is unpleasant to hear and may anger me, you should just not say it.” She politely rejected her request.
If the Sister Yun”s tone was not rude, she would probably not give her attitude, but that was not the case at all with the former.
Deeming it pointless to show Sister Yun manners, she decided not to listen to her speech at all!
“…” Sister Yun looked at her in surprise, clearly not expecting her to react as such.
She gave Sister Yun a wide smile and then walked past her just like that.
Tsk! I can’t be bothered to talk to this woman whose eyes are above her head!
“Miss Pei, you are a woman and will settle down someday. A woman can’t be too lazy, or else no man will want to marry her. Cooking is the most basic skill a woman should have. Knowing is not enough, of course; she should be the one doing it as well. A woman can’t abandon cooking just because she feels too lazy.” When Pei Ge just walked forward without acknowledging her or giving her face, Sister Yun promptly voiced this out in a tone steeped in anger.
Pei Ge was angered by Sister Yun’s words instantly.
What does she mean by ‘can’t be too lazy’?
Isn’t she implying that I am too lazy and don’t want to cook?
That’s not my fault, though! Clearly, it’s that annoying fellow who forbids me from cooking! In any case, what has that got to do with her?!
“Miss Pei, you can’t be too arrogant just because our young master spoils you. I’ve seen many women like you. Of them all, you are the least cultured. You are a terrible match for our young master.” Noting that Pei Ge had stopped walking but refused to face her, Sister Yun proceeded to mock her further.
“Hur hur!” Pei Ge was so enraged she started laughing. Pivoting, she fixed Sister Yun with an icy glare.
I hate people calling me uncultured the most!
“Sister Yun, I think the arrogant person here isn’t me but you, instead.” She laughed mirthlessly.
“You!” Sister Yun’s breath hitched in her anger, and she looked at her with eyes ablaze.
“Sister Yun, I am Ziming’s girlfriend. Only he can say whether I match up to him or not. It has nothing to do with an outsider like you at all, so what gives you the right to say those things to me? Hur hur. Tell me; if you’re not ‘arrogant’ for daring to talk like this to me, then what should I call you?” She was clearly smiling right now, but no humor could be seen in her eyes.
When Sister Yun heard her this, her face instantly turned a few shades whiter.
“I-I…” She totally did not expect the docile- and dumb-looking woman before her to be such an eloquent speaker.
As for Pei Ge, she only peered lightly at Sister Yun and, upon noting her fluster, did not continue provoking her. Instead, she faced forward again and walked down the stairs.
Sister Yun inexplicably felt relieved when the woman turned to leave.
“Hoo!” I’ve truly underestimated her! Since our young master is so smitten with her he’s even willing to cook for her personally, it is proof enough that she’s quite the devious and cunning woman. She’s got the brain for scheming and certainly not a simple person!
Thinking of this, she started to worry.
It looks like our young master is dating a tricky person this time.
Our young master hasn’t been in a relationship before, though. What if he gets cheated by this scheming woman?
No! I must expose this evil woman’s true colors and let young master realize that she’s unfit for him!
I should expose her true self to master and mistress, too!
Right at this moment, Pei Ge remained oblivious to the fact that someone had become wary of her just because of her few words.
Of course, even if she knew, she would still not care.
After all, she was not the man’s real girlfriend. From her perspective, she was merely a shield, so that Sister Yun could do whatever she wanted.
