Provocative Fiery Wife: My Superior is an Affectionate Spitfire - Chapter 1843
Chapter 1843: What Are You holding In Your Hand?
“Wait for a while before going down. I want to see if your grandmother will be taken advantage of by another man.”
“Grandpa, you care so much about Grandma. If Grandma knew, she would be overjoyed.”
Qu Jingwan looked at Old master Qu. Her voice was gentle and she looked even gentler in her pink bed dress.
“Maybe.”
Old master Qu looked at the stairs and continued, “Let’s go down.”
Old master Qu took a closer look at the surface of the stairs. He was very cautious about these things that happened easily. From Old lady Qu’s condition, he could tell that there was something wrong with that cup of tea.
“Grandpa, are you suspecting this staircase?”
Qu Jingwan saw Old master Qu looking down at the stairs and did not expect him to look up at Old lady Qu. If this was not suspicion, what else could it be?
“Maybe.”
Old master Qu was still looking at the stairs. At the place Old lady Qu had just walked past, these stairs seemed to have turned into a hopscotch.
When Old master Qu and Qu Jingwan reached the bottom, Ji Ziming and Pei Ge’s car also arrived at the entrance of the Qu family’s villa. Pei Ge wore a long white dress and held Ji Ziming’s arm as they got out of the car. Her makeup was exquisite and her lips curled into a faint smile as she looked at Ji Ziming with eyes that shone like stars.
“Ziming, what are you holding?”
Pei Ge saw Ji Ziming holding a bag tightly and placing it in He Yun’s hands. Her voice was gentle as she said, “This is my gift to Old master Qu.”
“You even prepared a birthday gift? What is this?”
She looked at him in surprise, her eyes glowing.
“You’ll find out later, don’t be inpatient.”
He consoled her softly and looked into her beautiful eyes. “Are you nervous today? If you are, we can go in later.”
“You don’t have to do this. Whether it’s going in later or earlier, you have to see me. If I can’t control my temper, you have to hold me back. Otherwise, I’m afraid I’ll embarrass you in front of so many people.”
Pei Ge looked around her. The car and models around made this scene look as though it was a fan-meeting of famous models.
“You’re my woman. It doesn’t matter if you embarrass me.”
Ji Ziming coldly sneered and looked at Pei Ge dotingly. His voice was gentle as he said, “Besides, after so long, do you still think that I, Ji Ziming, am someone who can’t afford to embarrass myself?”
She turned to look at him with her beautiful eyes. “Ziming, I’m just saying it casually. Don’t worry.”
“Of course not. My woman is more sensible than any other woman in the world.”
The corners of Ji Ziming’s lips curled up and his deep gaze made Pei Ge feel as though she was being surrounded by his dote. As long as she was willing, as long as Ji Ziming had it, she could let him dote on her in any way he wanted.
This was the best love in the world.
“Ge Ge, let’s go.”
Ji Ziming extended his arm while Pei Ge held it tightly. The two of them were like a golden couple, attracting many eyes in the hall.
“Mr Ji finally brought this so-called CEO’s wife out for us to see.”
“Didn’t Mr Ji already bring her out?”
“This woman looks familiar. I think I’ve seen her somewhere before.”
…
The moment the two of them appeared, they attracted everyone’s attention. Even Old master Qu and Old lady Qu, who were standing in the middle of the crowd, turned around because of the whispers.
Old master Qu’s eyes slid from Ji Ziming to Pei Ge, who was standing beside him. His entire body seemed to be frozen. Seeing Pei Ge’s smile that resembled the woman in his memory, Old master Qu finally knew what Ji Ziming had told him in the hospital.
It turned out that the person he wanted to see was right beside him, in this city, and in the Ji family.
The smile on Old lady Qu’s face froze as she looked at Pei Ge. It was strange that she did not expect Pei Ge to appear at this time and place.
Old lady Qu quickly turned around and pulled Old master Qu. “Old master, someone is calling for us. Let’s go over first…”
“No need. Let’s go greet Mr Ji first.”
Old master Qu regained his composure and looked at Pei Ge intently as though he wanted to make up for all the regrets he had for so many years. However, Pei Ge, who was standing beside Ji Ziming, did not notice that her eyes were getting bigger and bigger until Old master Qu reached her.
“Mr Ji, Madam Ji, how are you? Welcome to this old man’s birthday banquet. Your presence brings light to my humble house.”
Old master Qu smiled at Pei Ge. The focus in his eyes stunned Ji Ziming who was standing beside Pei Ge.
“Happy birthday, Old master Qu. Madam and I specially brought exquisite gifts.”
His lips curled up as he looked at her. He could clearly feel her body trembling.
“Aiya, Mr Ji and Madam Ji are here. It’s not good for everyone to stand at the door and chat. Quickly come in. The event is about to start.”
Old lady Qu’s heart skipped a beat when she saw Old master Qu walking toward her. She walked over as well, hiding her hatred for Pei Ge and fear for Ji Ziming.
“Greetings, Old lady Qu.”
Pei Ge finally spoke and reached out to shake hands.
“Greetings, Madam Ji.”
Old lady Qu looked at Pei Ge’s hand and before she could decide whether to shake it, Old master Qu walked past her and held her hand tightly.
Pei Ge did not expect Old master Qu to be holding her and Old lady Qu to be blocked behind him.
“Happy birthday, Old master Qu.”
Pei Ge remained calm and smiled at Old master Qu.
“You must be Pei Ge. What about your mother? Is she here today?”
Old master Qu looked at Pei Ge’s eyes, from her forehead to her chin, and carefully looked at her face. This face finally matched the face in his memory. There was no need to go to the hospital for a blood test for two people who looked so similar. This must be his granddaughter, his biological granddaughter.
“Mother is here as well, but she’s not here yet. My mother and Mr Ji’s mother are here together. I think they’ll be here soon.”
Pei Ge retracted her hand from Old master Qu’s and looked at Ji Ziming before continuing, “Old master Qu seems to be very concerned about my mother.”
