Provocative Fiery Wife: My Superior is an Affectionate Spitfire - Chapter 1661
Chapter 1661: She can only be his; nobody can take her away.
“He’s alright and doing well.”
Ji Ziming’s voice deepened as he thought of Qu Xiujie, who was lying on a sick bed now. Perhaps, his men had begun serving him like a group of nannies. The doctors might even be unable to get close to that fella, so what more of those attackers?
“That’s good. I just had a dream that Old Lady Qu went to the hospital.”
Upon hearing Pei Ge’s words, the man was startled.
“Since you’re awake, let’s go visit him at the hospital. If there’s no problem, I’ll get my men to bring him to the hillside mansion. He can’t keep staying where he is now.”
He pinched her silky-smooth cheeks. She was such a beautiful sight to behold in the morning.
“Okay.”
The woman nodded, and as she was going to flip the blanket, she was pinned down by him.
Her eyes widened at him. “What are you doing?”
“Since you’re awake, feed me first. I’ve been waiting for quite a while now.”
The stiffest part was pointed to the softest par. The morning sun was especially bright today.
When the couple arrived at the hospital, Qu Xiujie was reading the fashion magazine with his spectacles on. The sexy model on the cover page was quite alluring.
“Mr. Qu, how are you feeling?”
Two bodyguards carried two seats inside for the couple. The pair’s eyes were slightly narrowed as they looked dangerously at the person on the sick bed. “Are you planning to stay here for a few more days?”
“Hey, guys! You are here. My small ward is graced by your presence.”
Qu Xiujie looked at Ji Ziming with slightly dazed eyes, flipping the playboy magazine to a page with the most enticing image, clearly challenging the latter’s endurance.
“This hospital ward is mine,” said the latter coolly, a clear threat in his voice.
The shrewdness in the man’s eyes made his lips twitch.
“Alright, alright. If it’s yours, then it’s yours. Your family is a big household, so what’s wrong with taking a lonely, old man like me in?”
He did not make a fuss anymore.
“Hmph.”
The man harrumphed, but just as he moved to speak, he was stopped by Pei Ge. “Mr. Qu, let the bodyguards accompany you back to the hillside mansion. You probably can’t stay here any longer.”
“Why? Why can’t I stay here?”
Qu Xiujie’s lips curled as he looked at the woman’s eyes, which resembled his, his voice softening as a result.
“Haven’t you noticed it? Old Lady Qu had someone attacked you here. Even if Ziming’s people are there to protect you, they can’t guarantee that her lackeys won’t disguise themselves as doctors or nurses, or even the cleaning ladies, to get close to you.”
Pei Ge spoke the truth. Just this morning, a cleaning lady insisted on coming in to clean the room but was barred from entry by the guards, so nothing happened in the end.
“That’s right; you’ve got a point. Then, should I head to the hillside mansion now?”
His lips curled, and there was a certain feeling enveloping him and her.
“That’s right; it’s best that you get moving as soon as possible.”
She was determined.
“Okay, I’ll listen to you, Ge Ge.”
As he was all smiles, he could see Ji Ziming’s face darkening. It was truly fun to tease this iceberg as seeing the latter like this was amusing.
And it was all because of a woman. All because of a woman who looked like him.
“You can’t address her like this.”
Indeed, the chap was upset. If this guy knew what was good for him, he would stop whatever he was doing. After all, he could reconsider protecting him any time.
Alas, before he could continue this train of thoughts, the elderly woman came over herself.
“Sir, Old Lady Qu is here, saying that she wants to visit Mr. Qu.”
The bodyguard chief walked nervously toward the man and whispered this into his ear.
When Ji Ziming handed Qu Xiujie to him, he had instructed them not to let this fella meet that old woman.
Yet the lady actually showed up herself.
Upon hearing it, he lifted his eyes at the man on the bed, who was laughing happily, then asked jokingly, “Your family is here. Do you want to meet them?”
“Family member? That old hag?”
The other was taken aback, for it meant that all his hard work had gone to waste. All his people were now on that old lady’s side. The situation was clear—other than Ji Ziming, he had nobody else.
“Don’t want!”
His voice sharpened, the magazine in his hand seemingly losing its beauty. He hid under the blanket, pulled it up to his chin, and suddenly seemed to be gravely ill.
“Oh? Why not? That’s your family.”
Ji Ziming was prepared to enjoy the show, so he instructed his men to let Old Lady Qu in.
Qu Xiujie was prepared to continue refusing, but when he heard the ward’s door opening, he hissed, “Surnamed Ji, you’re too much!”
The man’s lips curled into an evil grin. Even this guy, who was older than he was by over a decade, could not take advantage of his woman in front of him.
Pei Ge can only be mine, and no one can take her away.
“Young Master Ji, Ms. Pei, you guys are here?”
Old Lady Qu entered with her secretary and gave them her standard smile before she looked at the man on the sick bed.
“That’s right. What a coincidence that you’re here, too.”
Ji Ziming’s smile turned cold, and the elderly woman felt it.
She could not look down on this man and the woman beside him.
Now that she had taken a closer look, Pei Ge really resembled that person back then. Her eyes resembled Qu Xiujie’s orbs even more. Even she must admit that this woman really looked like that person, so much so that when she entered the room, it was as if she was seeing that person again.
Pei Ge did not wish to interact much with this elderly lady, for she was from the Qu family. The moment the latter appeared, she stood beside her man without saying a word. She was like a fairy on the mountaintop.
However, a fairy like this was an eyesore in Old Lady Qu’s eyes.
“That’s great. Since Xiujie needs to stay in the hospital longer, I shouldn’t bother him anymore. Sorry to trouble Young Master Ji and Ms. Pei.”
The elderly woman’s friendliness disgusted the man. If she were not the matriarch of the Qu family, he would long kick her out.
