Provocative Fiery Wife: My Superior is an Affectionate Spitfire - Chapter 1629
Chapter 1629: He is just a child in my eyes.
However, Qu Xiujie did not regret it because he knew that, as long as Old Lady Qu was in this family, he would not get true peace. His true peace had left him long ago along with his favorite sister; together, they vanished and went somewhere that he did not know.
He could only blame himself for being young and not knowing how to go after them.
He threw the jacket and left this family. Standing at the staircase, Old Master Qu was still coughing, but it was getting better slowly.
He had no idea whether this move was good or bad for himself, his son, and his wife. If it was good, he hoped to live longer, and if it was bad, he wished to pass away sooner. As long as his son was willing to come back, he would not fuss about what the latter had said today. If his son was willing, he would treat him like before. However, when he saw Qu Xiujie’s determined back view, he was suddenly reminded of the way that woman had left back then. They were after all a family, so even the look they had when they left were similar.
“Old master, let’s go back to your room quickly. About Xiujie, I’ll go speak to him properly tomorrow. He’s after all still young. It’s normal to be angry now, so don’t worry; you still have me.”
As Old Lady Qu was comforting him, she was secretly hatching a plan. As long as there was no mistake or Qu Xiujie had not discovered the truth of that incident back then, she would consider keeping him alive.
“That’s great! After all this while, you became the person who shouldn’t be attacked. It must’ve been really tough on you; how should I repay you?”
He supported her hands, feeling that it was a pity as he spoke.
She was clearly such a considerate woman, but why did so many people dislike her and advise him to leave her? Nevertheless, after so many years, he could no longer leave her because she had become an indispensable part of his life. No matter who tried to advise him otherwise, it would be useless because he only believed in her.
“Don’t feel that it’s a pity for me. As long as they won’t get angry with you and the family is harmonious, I’m happy. I don’t care about what others think of me. Plus, I’m older than Xiujie. It’s normal for me to give in to him. He is just a child in my eyes.”
She put on a kind-hearted smile, while the wrinkles in the corners of her eyes divulged her age.
“You’re still as kind-hearted as before.”
He did not feel very angry with his son’s departure; instead, he trusted his wife even more after hearing her words.
“Let’s head up. I’ll massage you; the weather is turning cold and you shouldn’t stay outside for too long.”
Who said that she did not understand him, and who said that he did not understand her? Old Master Qu was even more certain that this woman right before his eyes was his wife and a woman whom he would always be proud of.
He would never listen to rumors or slanders about her. He only had to trust his conscience and forever believe that she would be the last person to betray him.
“Let’s go; my waist is sore, too.”
He supported his waist with one hand and placed the other hand on her hand as they went to their room upstairs.
When he was soundly asleep, she left the room and gave a call to her close aide. It was already 1:30 A.M. but the call was picked up in less than a second.
“Madam, do you have any orders?”
The close aide sat up in the dark; his eyes took a while to get used to the darkness. Using the moonlight from outside the window, he saw that the alarm clock beside his bed was pointing at 1:30 A.M.
“Go and check where Qu Xiujie is right now and who he has been meeting. Make it as detailed as possible.”
Old Lady Qu turned to look at her back and lowered her voice. As long as she wanted, she could get a group of men to make Qu Xiujie disappear without a trace, but she could not do it.
She knew that, even though the father-son pair had such a big fight, her husband would always remember his son. Even if he stopped his capital, he would think of ways to give him money.
“Sure, do you want it now?”
The close aide had removed his blanket and wore his shoes.
“Right, I want it now. I’ll give you twice the amount that we agreed before.”
She was not stingy with money, except for the last time when she was cheated of 10 million yuan for kidnapping Ellie’s brother. Now, that person could not be contacted at all even when she called his other personal number.
Perhaps the guy had left the country; it was not her territory overseas.
“Okay.”
The close aide was not picky with the price, but he was reliable in his work and had never failed. That was why she would spend a huge sum to hire him.
After hanging up the call, Old Lady Qu returned to the room and slept beside Old Master Qu.
Meanwhile, Qu Xiujie was in the largest five-star hotel in the capital. He was smoking a cigar as he crossed his leg and spoke to another man in a suit. “I find your hotel really not bad.”
“It’s my honor to receive the praises of Young Master Qu.”
Murong Cheng laughed as he lay on the sofa. His eyes glowed when he looked at Qu Xiujie, but that glow quickly disappeared.
“I don’t understand why you and your father had a fall-out? Now, you’re stuck in this hotel of mine.”
“Shouldn’t you help when your brother sought you for help?”
Qu Xiujie did not mind having a fall-out with his father. In reality, he preferred this kind of life over seeing that woman’s detestable face which reminded him of how his mother was harshly chased out of the family by her.
Although he could not find his mother and younger sister, he found hope when he discovered Pei Ge.
“What are you thinking about? Of course, I welcome you and have no problem with you staying here long term. This hotel’s CEO is Ji Ziming, you know. As a general manager, it’s no problem to let you stay here.”
Qu Xiujie nodded as he looked at his best friend. They had been friends since young; Murong Cheng was aware of his family matters and even his cousin knew it, too.
